  1. For a defense minded catcher, Jackson is.... underwhelming.
  2. What Acuna does for the Sox, back in 1991, I thought Jarvis Brown would spend a decade doing that for that Twins. Whoops!
  3. Re Gray... The idea of Gray is what we don't like. A journeyman taking a roster spot from someone like Culpepper or Royce. But the reality is, he's worth a spot right now and has been one of the more productive hitters the Twins have. Sure, that might be an indictment on some other guys on the team, but it doesn't necessarily change the fact that Gray has been more than serviceable this season and he's earned his keep.
  4. Pete has entered the portion of the season where he's trying too hard...
  5. Runs will definitely be at a premium tonight. Need CP to pitch well.
  6. This. Mendez is cause for optimism but the title to this article strikes me as a bit off.
  7. The Twins dismantled the bullpen last summer and the underlying theme was, it isn't too hard to build a bullpen, and here we are on June 2nd. And I give Shelton credit because I think he's done a decent job of managing the bullpen and making it look way more competent than it is.
  8. I wonder if it is Fundy that goes back down. Isn't Paredes going to have to be the 5th starter?
  9. Hopefully they can find something with Lawrence. Looks like Shelton had him in Pittsburgh so there's some familiarity. The bullpen acquisitions thus far have at least one thing in common - control issues. Gomez seems to have turned things around but relievers that can't find the strike zone are usually a recipe for disaster.
  10. Yup. Something is definitely off somewhere in the organization. The White Sox were historically bad two years ago and here we are.
  11. Chicago is legit. I wouldn't be shocked if they won the division.
