  1. Bro, situational hitting stats are for morons and bozos!! I'm a smart baseball fan which means I only look at OPS, OPS+, xWOBA, etc. and never RBIs! This means that I LOVE the current brand of Twinz baseball, and couldn't care less that our RBI leader only has 68 RBI. I also LOVE that we got rid of guys who have turned out to be great with RISP (Rooker, Arraez) while keeping guys who fit the way Falvine like to approach hitting. This has been a GREAT season, and I can't wait for more years of watching this exciting brand of ball.
  2. I'm starting to think your username is just short for "Dave St. Peter"
  3. Bro I for one am GLAD we gave up watching a perennial batting champion chase all-time records (while setting modern day records for lack of strikeouts) so that we can have our ACE show up big time in games like this where you absolutely need him. Bro have you seen our Ace's expected stats bro?? Bro?
  4. I still believe to this day that the most successful year under Rocco (2019) was due mainly to the leadership of dudes like Nelson Cruz, and it was not attributable to any genius pulling of the levers.
  5. I couldn't agree more. Cleveland plays good baseball, and has dudes who have over 65 RBIs (bUt It'S a duM StaT) unlike us.
  6. I would add Miranda to this list. Many had written him off after the twinz wanted him to slim down which subsequently led to a terrible year last year. This year he's looking much more like his rookie self and it's fun to watch.
  7. This can't be true! I read on here 2 months ago that we have a top bullpen in all of baseball. I for one am shocked that is not the case because Falvine are geniuses!
  8. All of the people who were skeptical during the winning streak (mostly against AAAA teams) have been vindicated. This is more who the team is and KC/CLE will leave us in the dust by the end of June.
  9. This simply can't be true. Falvine has a well established pitching pipeline at this stage and we are stacked! -Twins media this preseason
  10. Unfortunately this seems to be a bit of an organizational-wide issue. The headline could easily be "Did the Twins Sell Out Too Much for Power?"
  11. Indeed; however pointing this out makes you a bad fan so I've been told (mainly from the same commentors who enjoy the hitting approach and think the bullpen is #1 in baseball).
  12. I know this is not a popular opinion but winning last year against the Blue Jays in the postseason may have been a mistake. If our playoff futility would have continued, that would have likely meant less time with this front office, their philosophy, and the manager. Pulling Ober yesterday for the "spooky" third time around the lineup while rolling with pitch count under 70 was dumb. Allowing Varland to throw 97 times while allowing the back breaking 3-run bomb was even more dumb.
  13. Bro, I love this type of baseball bro. It produces high OPS+ which means we'll win games bro. Trust me bro!
  14. Cleveland has an actual pitching pipeline and their rotation is way better than ours if you take off the twins colored glasses. Beiber is healthy, Mckenzie is healthy compared to last year and is only a year removed from being dominant, Bibee-Allen-Williams will likely only get better. If you throw in full-season Bo Naylor, along with Josh Naylor/J-Ram/Giminez, and if they get anything from Manzardo they will likely overtake us.
  15. I would agree mostly with this article; however, I believe bWAR is a slightly better measure than fWAR, and the difference in bWAR between Arraez and Julien (who I actually like) is a bit more pronounced (4.9 WAR to 2.6 WAR).
  16. One of the things that bothers me most about this regime is this: On offense, K's are no big deal. In fact they're borderline encouraged! On pitching: K's are the most important thing. Sell out for K's regardless of the outcome.
  17. According to the reactions to this: "They hated him because he spoke the truth"
  18. Ah yes, I too have forgotten about Romero, Gonsalves, and Graterol. Considering one of the selling points of this front office is that a pitching pipeline was promised, expecting more than 1 mid-level starter is completely valid. The Twinz media has done a great job not covering the short comings of said pipeline, and the fans are more than happy to parrot the talking points.
  19. The bummer about SWR and Varland is that it's a very common theme for highly regarded SP prospects to either flame out or convert to low leverage relievers. I know not every high SP prospect will hit, but an astoundingly small percentage of ours under Falvine successfully transition from promising minor leaguer to regular MLB contributor.
  20. I actually love this idea. In my opinion a large portion of the success of 2019/20 was due to the effect of having Cruz in the dugout (Hunter had a similar effect in 2015). He's a natural leader and the players clearly respect him.
  21. For secondary characters Tran is number one, and it's not close.
  22. I too don't care about actual runs! I also don't care that (given his prior history and the Twin's recent history with similar pitchers) he will likely be injured for a large chunk of time with a year or so. Also, I just read an article on here that Pagan is an asset. I totally agree! This front office can't do anything wrong! Can I write for Twins Daily now?
  23. I'd say they have constructed the pipeline for sure. The uncanny ability to turn prospects with appearances on top 100 lists (Gonsalves, SWR, Balazovic, Romero, ....) into either relievers or bullpen arms is top tier. Unfortunately it's the type of pipeline that leaks and contaminates the ground water.
  24. I was being sarcastic. TD and Twins beat writers keep saying how it was still a good trade, in large part part to Pablo's expected numbers instead of the actual production. The trade was a disaster and the extension will age terribly.
  25. The Twins Way used to be known by boring hallmarks of sound defense, always looking to take the extra base, and fighting off 2 strike pitches. The current philosophy has swapped those out for the much superior 3 true outcomes, hence the Twinz way.
