  1. That's the kind of dedication I like to see!
  2. Clicked on the "expand"... 15 minutes I'll never get back! Gotta luv the interwebs! 🥰
  3. Be a fan... the Twins are capable of scoring in the 8th or 9th innings! Extra innings, with the little league rules? Not so much... who con be expected to score a run with no outs and a man on 2B? Sac bunt, sacrifice fly for a run? No, no, no! Trust the process - the people who came up with it are smarter than you!
  4. He looks like he belongs at Target Field. That, in and of itself, is the key. I don't give a tinkers dam about exit velocity. Last year he'd have been hanging out statistically with one Luis Arraez in that category, so... #manywaystoskinacat
  5. "Urbabe" is unbelievably kind... but a pro athlete's natural competiveness will (occasionally) shine through of even the most heartless bunch. Maybe, there'll emerge a leadership clique on this team that believes that a bit of effort is more than made up for in the sweet taste of victory. And then lead the rest along!
  6. Calling a man who pitched until he literally couldn't comb his hair due to pitching "shambling remains" is about what you'd expect from.... well, a White Sox fan. And by the way, he kept on pitching after that. Bad- mouthing a legitimate Twins legend is bad form!
  7. No, that is called "the end of the bench", and there will always be someone getting almost no time. Unless you want a team with no set line up and no regular positions. Wait...
  8. Paddack somehow threw his career high in pitches against the Sox (unbelievably his career hi was 102 pitches before yesterday). Unless only the Twins announcer and me know this, I doubt interest in him has increased measurably...
  9. On the bright side, it only went 7.... (trying to channel some Oliva positivity 🙏)
  10. Might be as simple as he's a catcher... Cumulative aches, pains, hurts and injuries throughout the season and career. The tools of ignorance are heavy!
  11. Lack a better placefor this, so.... Let us all say a prayer for the health and recovery of Twins legends Tony Oliva and Kent Hrbek. It was announced earlier today (or yesterday) that both men had suffered strokes.
  12. I posted here that Keashall was indeed needed as a starter for the Twins to have anything resembling a competent defense. So don't put words into my mouth. McCusker simply looked awkward, both at the plate, but especially in the field. Call him up and we'll be wishing for Galloesque production. Sorry, but that is what I saw. No where near a prospect let alone an immediate one.
  13. I get that the AAAA team needs a shot in the arm, and the Saints are the logical place to look for the "next guy up". Go look at McCusker at the plate in spring training. It is far from encouraging for the long term, let alone short. Would love to see a big hulking 1B manning Hrbek's position, but he isn’t close right now. Give him a minute or two, he might surprise. Rush this and he's back in Indy ball by the end of the year.
  14. Too much statistics and not enough scouting (in the classic baseball sense) to put it very simply. Got the expected/preferred bat speed? Fantastic!!! Keep that up and you don't need to work on making contact! Or improving your glove work. Or base running. Just swing hard and maintain that launch angle! What would this organization done with an 18 year old Wade Boggs? Does anyone believe that as a modern Twin he would be a multiple time batting champ? Reach 3000 hits? Hell, win a late career Gold Glove? Launch angle, launch angel, launch angel. (Take a breath) Bat speed!!!! Not everyone is going to profile offensively as a slugging 1B/LF. But the statistics say that is the way to go. You have Frank Thomas, and maybe that is the way to go (though has Charlie (?) Lau approach at the plate still produced ok....). But, let's say you have Rod Carew. You'll never convince me that he'd be a better hitter if he constantly swung from the heels. Baseball as a whole have gone far too far along this road of trying to turn every hitter into Dave Winfield. But somehow they keep getting heaps of Dave Kingmans. One guy drew crowds. The other derision.
  15. Ishiba was never a buyer for the Twins. The "rumor" that he was was simply incorrect. Billion dollar transactions take time, and his time was invested in the White Sox, just like his money already was, and is now soon to be much more so. He wasn't "windows shopping" or comparing prices on a car. You can blame the ownership for many things. Scaring off the part owner of the White Sox is not one of them. Just plain silly.
  16. Is he THE problem? No, probably not. But he assuredly IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!
  17. His ceiling. That is as good as he's ever hit, and adding in his "defense" you end up with a light hitting DH. Instead we get him at 2B where he costs a game a week! Give me Nick Punto (seriously)!!!!
  18. Doktorczyk? We may have a successor to Meintkeiwitcz!
  19. It isn't sustainable, but it ain't going to change. You want the honest evaluation, by the Twins, of thier pitching, look at the usage. If they refuse to ever let a guy go the third time through the order. Rocco looks at his staff and doesn't see anyone who is above a ~3 slot starter. Top of the rotation guys can give more than 6 innings. Mid rotation guys can get through a couple of times, but not much more consistently. End of the rotation/long reliever can't consistently get through twice. Rocco, by his use of the starters says the Twins have nothing above average #3 guy. The FO apparently agrees, as the outright abuse of the bullpen is a detrimental to both the team's record, and is a turn off for fans (longer games equal fewer eyes watching).
  20. Since they can't/won't pitch every day, they cannot cover half the BP innings... not for long, anyway!
