  1. 3 guys (not prospects at all) returns you... one,, two, three bags of baseballs.
  2. You can't build an ace pitcher if you never allow them to try doing ace-type things... Not every pitcher will be an ace pitcher, but you'll never have one if you don't at least try it with your better arms!
  3. Well he did use what, 5 or 6 BP guys in game 2. An eventual blowout win. It is modern MLB baseball... and statistically proven superior! To quote Master Baldelli, you've got to "trust the process ."
  4. Would have bet on just this result as soon as Jax was announced for the 9th... But I'm "a hater", so being right doesn't count, and a fan so there is no joy in being correct.
  5. Why??? They obviously don't do anything as far as flexibility goes! Guys are regularly on the DL with injuries sustained running the bases (slowly) and playing basic defense (poorly)! Not just a Twins thing, but I get a front row seat for grown men playing a kids' game. And doing it with a kid's discipline.
  6. Dodgers have lost 10 of last 12, so...time for someone to get right!
  7. Add in the facts that a) he is probably the most dishonest man in sports, and b) seems to be intentionally trying to destroy baseball by utterly failing to understand both it's fans or non-fans, and my takeaway is that the Pohlad family is pretty much guaranteed to be in charge for several more years! Maybe the 2030s will see some movement from owners who have very little specific interest in Twins basebal, outside of being in a very exclusive club of MLB owners... #forkmanfred. (the bigger the fork, the better!!!)
  8. Yeah, the "problem" wasn't that he wasn't going to keep playing (i.e. sign another contract, new or extended), it was that it wasn't going to be with the Twins. Infinitely more likely that he ended up with the Blue Jay's even if he wasn't traded there than doing a complete 180 and signiing with the Twins after his contract expired. The only real choices were to trade him, or simply flog him until his contract expired and take the comp pick. The Twins might not have gotten "equal value" in return, but Toronto really overpaid for a couple of months of disappointing pitching.
  9. Big wasted talent... and in Delmond's case a lot of "I just don't care" about many facets of the game. Paying attention first and foremost... And the TJ surgery is on the 1st round pitcher, not Young. But this is the Falvey-led Twins, so maybe he's had it too!
  10. 4 days of taking fly balls... and the result is one of the two end up on injured list!
  11. If you can't find Jax's tip off to his pitches, deal him. If he isn't tipping his pitches get rid of him even faster!
  12. Not sure which would be a bigger red flag, blood relationship w/ Delmond (in the running with Herr and Knoblauch as the biggest horse's arses in Twins history) or "recovering from 2024 Tommy John surgery" . Leave it to the Twins to check both boxes in one day...
  13. "Tommy John surgery..." and "if he can stay healthy...", two words equal to the kiss of death in the Twins organization.
  14. Why can't the Twins and their opponent have get away games the same day? The Twins figure it is the last game of a series, and that makes sense. But the opponents seldom seem to play "get away day" baseball. In fact they often treat it like it counts as much as other games! They try!!! Haven't the other teams gotten the message about the games being a "screw the customer" day by fielding your lineup from the back end of your roster???
  15. "Flashes of brilliance..." Haven't seen anything approaching brilliance offensively since Cruz's heyday. Any (and every) major league team have multi-run innings. Some even do it regularly.! F##k, some do it multiple times a game!!! Yeah, such outbursts are detrimental to sleeping during the game, but...
  16. Guy having a hellofatime getting three outs... lets have him try 15 to 18!
  17. Agree 101%. And not because I dislike either player, or that neither can be a quality ML outfielder. It is because both have the same natural "best fit" position as far too many guys on the protected rosters: DH. And not quality Cruz-like consistent production, but highly streaky inconsistent DHing. That type of player (power bat, poor contact skills displayed with 1+ K per game and below average defense) are pretty easy to sign as a free agent, and fit easily into a Twins-like budget. Assuming you feel the need for such players...
  18. Might be funny if there wasn't so much frustrating truth included...
  19. Bader needs to be out there for his glove and energy, and take the bat as a bonus. Until he can be replaced by someone at least competent, he plays...
  20. Why are insisting on punishing Joe??? Seriously, outside the normal risk associated with multi-year contracts to pitchers, Joe Ryan should be offered a 5ish year deal. A bit extra for his controlled years, and maybe a bit of a discount on his initial FA years. Kinda the standard (structurally) deal offered to controlled guys. Pretty high floor (barring injury, of course, but...) for a premium+ position. And a position historically in demand league wide, the Twins even more so. Maybe he jumps for this in the name of financial security. Maybe he laughs his Greatful Dead headband off and gambles on himself. One way to find out...
  21. I can trust my lying eyes, or go with the stats that proved that Joey Gallo was a slightly above average player for the Twins...
  22. 6 blown games. If he keeps up his pace (which you are defending without actually showing anything) he'll have 10 or 11 blown games at his feet. This is Ron "Heartburn" Davis level results... and that is indisputable.
  23. ERA (actually, not cherry picked) 4 and a quarter. He basically gives up a run every other outing. 2 appearances equals 2 innings. Give up a run every other outing and it inches up to 4 and a half. That isn't elite. That isn't good. It is at very best average for ALL PITCHERS REGARDLESS. And for the #2 out of the pen, it is awful. Edit- he has blown 6 games, and looked horrific doing that. Not good...
  24. "Slumping" (if we are lucky, and he hasn't simply been figured out) relievers aren't a great return in trade... He gets crushed regularly. Teams might just know it ain't a slump...
  25. Absurd? Debatable Correct? Unquestionable.
