  1. I agree that it's not all doom and gloom. But it is a bit gloomy. It is hard to be bullish on Lewis who injures himself running to first base. He seemingly has bad wheels and that's a big problem for an athlete.
  2. Wow. I appreciate your commenting on the minor league players as I don't get an opportunity to see them (except in spring training). I did not realize that Miranda had sunk so low. And Julien doesn't seem to be much better.
  3. I just don't see Miranda, and especially Julien, in the picture for the majors. I do feel the Twins should move McCusker to first base this season and perhaps he can help next year.
  4. Sadly, there is trouble in paradise. Amazing how the Twins went from a surplus of starters to needing help. I think it's going to be a struggle until we get some starters back. Ober certainly appears like he is going on the DL. Twins are going to need Ryan, Paddack and Festa to step up to the plate. Beyond those 3...it's pretty troublesome.
  5. Nothing is ever certain when involving humans. That said, Alcala had more than enough chances. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him well. But his time with the Twins needed to end.
  6. I can't say that I prayed for Alcala's departure, but I'm not going to miss him. At all. Despite all the injuries, Buxton's talent is electrifying.
  7. Sorry that it didn't work out with Alcala, but he had plenty of chances. B'Bye!
  8. Better than Julien is damning with feint praise! But his fielding has been good and hopefully his hitting levels out to be a good bench player.
  9. I think Festa should get a pass on his performance in Sacramento. Had to fly to the west coast and pitch right away. I thought they should have pitched him the first game of the homestand. I think he would have been better served and fully rested. Yes, I know that he was scheduled to pitch in St. Paul, so he was rested to pitch, but throw in the travel and the stress of being called up...that was a tough assignment.
  10. I was thinking the same thing about sending Adams back down. Zebby's injury, the Twins need a long reliever more than ever. What the heck about Alcala? Potential? Stop it. We have enough history. Let him go. Maybe another team can untap his "potential".
  11. I think/hope you're going to get your wish with Alcala...except he goes to the DFA Team.
  12. Culpepper is ready for AA. As for not being a legit prospect...nonsense. No one is a guaranteed ML player, but the guy has a real chance.
  13. I think we bring up Adams for either Funderburk or Alcala. Long reliever is needed more than ever with the two youngsters in the rotation.
  14. Buxton is showing that he is a true 5 tool player. And I fully agree, he has his legs under him and looks fantastic. He has manufactured a number of critical runs this season by taking the extra base and his steals. He looks like an all star. Fingers crossed for his continued good health.
  15. Break out the launch coordinates and let him go. Enough is enough.
  16. I agree that a deadline trade is in order. i wouldn't move now (unless a good deal falls into their laps). Reinforce which position? 1st, middle infield, catcher? hopefully the next month provides clarity.
  17. I agree, I think a complete pause for Lee is better than sending him down. And Gaspar as a PH or DH is a better option...of course, right now, any player is a better option than Lewis. If Castro's quality week is indicative of his return to relevance, then he should stay in the infield and the Twins can call up an outfielder. Sadly, I'm not sure anyone is ready at AAA.
  18. Lewis and Keaschel are seemingly the keys to improved hitting for the Twins. I love what Cody Clemens has done for the Twins, but I don't trust that he can keep it up. I hope that mistrust is misguided! That said, I think I'd wait a bit to see how they play when Keaschel is back. Paddack will never be worth more than he is today, but hopefully he can get through June pitching well which buys the Twins time to see if hitting remains a problem. The Twins don't have good depth at 1st base. I think they should start working McCusker at that position with St. Paul. Might not help this year, but it could pay dividends next year.
  19. Exactly what i was thinking about Buxton. If he and Correa are going well at the same time, good things should follow.
