  1. Yeah let's throw in that guy with the hyphenated last name.
  2. Yeah I like Dobnak. He could replace the beard.
  3. I really hope the Twins take their time with Buxton. A long, long rest is what I would prescribe.
  4. There is so much to dislike about the manager and the FO. The money they spent on Buxton and Correa alone is enough to send the boy wonders packing with their uninspiring manager in tow.
  5. What pitching did they develop other than Ober and Duran? And getting to the playoffs "half the time" is mostly due to the spoils of the previous administration. The FO and our beloved manager need to go!
  6. It's not out of panic; It comes from the sober realization that this club is going nowhere and will never go anywhere under the current leadership. Rocco is not a field manager. There's no fire in his belly, no spit in his eye. He inspires nobody. And the guy at the top, Falvey, IMO, he's in way over his head. You don't have to blow up the team and tear out the heart; We've got a lot of good players. Just cut off the head and find new leadership. There's a lot to work with here.
  7. If there are no significant signs of improvement by the last week of July, I'd throw in the towel. I'd trade Gray for young prospects. And I'd fire Rocco and Derek Falvey, and turn the operation over to Thad Levine for what's left of the 2023 season and let him pick the interim manager--how about Toby G or Dougie M?? Then, in the off season, I'd search for a new manager and possibly a new president of baseball operations. During the search I would go out of my way to avoid any and all contact with Korn Ferry.
  8. Maybe it's the curse of Calvin's ghost? Unless we bring the statue back, we're doomed!
  9. I think it's a terrible decision. Rocco is not a leader. He doesn't motivate. He doesn't command. I think the whole front office ought to hang it up with Rocco in tow. And let the owners eat the contract. (I don't mean to mince words.)
  10. Brooks Lee is in a bad slump, He's been O for his last 20, give or take. He has his hands full at AA; there's no way he can handle the Majors.
  11. Put Buxton into center field. Stop coddling the guy. It's ridiculous. It's not doing him or the team any good.
  12. Bring him up now. His wrist is good now. If his wrist doesn't hold up, put him on the DL, or IL, or whatever they're calling it these days. Why waste his good wrist in St. Paul?
  13. "Bringing in a couple of keys!" I love it!! "Don't touch my bags if you please, Mr. Custom's Man!"
  14. I wouldn't write off Contreras as a AAAA player. He's definitely old for a prospect, but look at what our old pal Brent Rooker is doing in Oakland.
  15. Yeah, that was his name, Ben Revere. He made one catch in center field that was beyond belief. I can't remember if that catch was made with the Twins or with a different team after he was traded. He was highlight reel. A number 1 draft pick, I think.
  16. If center is too much for Buxton's knees, why couldn't he be moved to right or left? And as far as "acrobatic catches" go, I'd rate another ex Twin ahead of Buxton, I forgot the guys name, He was a little guy, about 5' 7", with a great smile. What the hell was his name? I'm thinking Dean Meminger, but that's a different guy from a different sport from a different time from a different city. ,
  17. Everyone says Ober going to the bullpen is a nonstarter. Why is that? It seems like the simple solution. Put him in the bullpen and if Maeda can't handle a starting role, then switch the two. If Ober needs some stretching out, then send him to St. Paul, have him start a game or two, and then bring him back up as a starter. ps., Rooker, of the Oakland/Las Vegas A's, hit two more dingers today for a total of 6 for the year. And Steer had two hits and two rbi's for the Reds raising his batting average to 294. In investing, whenever I sell stocks and they go up, it makes me nuts. Best not to look. (Sorry for bringing this up.)
