    The only way a team makes a run in baseball is if multiple players have "career years" during the same season. Right now, the Twins have Buxton doing it, Clemens (kind of), Castro, and Ryan. That's it. Sorry my friends, that ain't getting it done. Another lost season during a long run of generally average to poor baseball. It is indeed sad to grow old and not have the pleasure of watching good baseball. But, hopefully, there are other pleasures generating joy to get us through.

    Little blurry this morning.... thought the Twins team had played the Strippers last night. Guess not. Could be a minor league attraction with legs, though.

    With Skubal pitching on Sunday night, if the Twins want to win the series, today is the day to stake that claim.

    Geez, Aaron Sabato. Next thing you know Keoni Cavaco is going to climb the MiLB ladder and lead the Twins to the World Series.

    But the biggest red flag for me is the lack of walks. That needs to change. Man, if he would have laid off that high outside fastball in the 8th last night, after a great AB with a lot of foul balls, that would have been special. As it was, he struck out swinging on a 3-2 pitch and they threw out Keirsey at 2B attempting a steal. Neither player got it done. That's a big part of losing close games.

    Correa gets paid $185,000.00 a game to play shortstop and he can't leave his feet in Game 1 on a first inning dribbler that scored a run. Game two, he can't glove a ball that bounced off his pitcher, in which he was trying, for some reason, to make a bare-handed pickup, and which, let directly to the Cardinal win. Listless, at times dreadful, and certainly boring, you have to wonder how excited, how passionate these guys are to put on their jerseys. Season ain't over by a long shot, but my question is: When will it even begin?

    In other words, the Twins, their coach, hitters and pitchers, are not seen as likely achieving highly in any aspect of the 2025 season -- not rookies, not veterans, not highly paid superstars, not anyone. Twins Daily throws us completely under the bus and collectively says, let the good times roll right over the home fellas. Needed that boost before the season begins.

    Want ad: "For sale: Major League Baseball team. Currently $425 Million in debt. Not a serious contender. Major stars injury prone. Don't own a stadium. And, need to keep current owner's nephew in charge for undetermined time -- at a princely salary." No offers yet?

    I would not read too much into the opening day roster. I think, for example, they sent Martin down so that he could play every day, starting next week?, rather than being a late-inning defensive replacement/pinch-hitter/runner. One more injury on the infield and Martin will be playing full-time 2B at AAA before rejoining the parent club.

    So, is this an accurate recap: The Twins best prospect in terms of hitting this spring is a player without a position and someone unlikely to help this year at the MLB level? If so, why write this article? I mean, couldn't we at least muse about how girthy are Wallner's biceps?

    Yeah, it is a meritocracy. However we can put Paddock in a positive light. let's get that done so he can bring back something in trade.

    Imagine facing a LH starter. It's the Twins' 7th game in a row. Twins bat Buxton DH and get an equivalent defender in CF, Bader. If, at the end of the game, Twins need to PH for Bader, and put Castro or Martin in CF, they face, an inning or two of lower quality defense. In the end, Bader is valuable, not for his offense, but for defense, flexibility and being able to rest Buxton, keep him in the line-up and generally preserve Twins' best lineup on the field. Bader ain't here to carry the Twins, he's here to carry Buxton, Wallner and Larnach to a better place.

    Hey Mat, When you buy the team, please get them to turn down the music/slop sounds that they play between and during innings at the stadium. It inhibits conversation and makes talking to fellow Twins' fans all but impossible. It ain't Minnesota nice to blast 10,000 people because your organization is too afraid to let people discuss the topic of what's happening on the field. It ain't pretty and the fans have things to say.

    They landed a RH BP guy, according to MLB Trade Rumors. Sounds like a winner, and should stabilize St. Paul pen.

    Don't look now but Dodgers and Yankees, the two teams with the highest payrolls, the most superstars, the biggest markets, on a collision course for the World Series. First time in a long time, but with TV revenues about to hit the big decline -- well, except New York and LA -- baseball is about to fall off the diamond.

    Margot will have a long post-career run of fame. It happens. Bill Buckner, Marv Throneberry, the umpire that blew the call at first on what would have been a perfect game. "Manuel Margot. the worst pinch-hitting performance in MLB History. Get his authograph, spend some close-up time with Manny, learning how he did it. Ignominy on an epic scale makes Manny one of a kind." How can you possibly have an average above .230 when you lug around an 0 for 30 in your pocket?

    Help me now. Eeles is what, 5' 6". He hits an opposite field homer to left at 430 feet? C'mon. That just can't be.

    Lewis probably is uncomfortable over there, but how uncomfortable? We can’t be definitively sure. Twins are uncomfortable with him at 3B, SS, CF -- so, there's that. Kind of young and athletic to become a full time DH. He should go home this winter, stop lifting so many weights, stretch his legs out for running, and come back to spring training ready to play a full season in the field..... somewhere, and make a home for himself.

    Just say it: Green threw a hanger in the middle of the plate. Any MLB'er that doesn't hammer that will be hugely disappointed.

    I am not sure a player should be happy if they are not reaching their potential and the team is struggling to win. I mean, what about the drive to get better? It's work. At a certain point, I want a competitor, not a glad-hander.

    I clicked on this article when I read the title: Come Ready to Work The body language, facial expressions and easy-going smile of Royce -- when on the field and interacting with opponents -- has really been bothering me. The ultimate goal of a professional baseball player is to win. And when the team is not winning, or even when they are, it's more than a little off-putting to appear as if you are in a greeting line at a wedding. C'mon Royce, get the game face on and play to win. It's not a popularity contest.

    Who is this guy? And why has no one talked about him? Over .300 average, 900 OPS, 5' 5" tall. WTF? How can someone that small fly under the radar? Or, did I just answer my own question.

    Provus was saying all series that Seager swings on every first-pitch fastball and is hitting like .500 with that approach. Twins had been throwing him change-ups on every first pitch. I guess Alcala didn't get the memo. Doesn't really absolve Jeffers though.
