  1. Ober didn't all of a sudden forget how to pitch. He will not have a short leash. He has proven when healthy he is a potential ace.
  2. Keaschall, Julien, Clemens, Lewis, Lee, Miranda, Gasper, Martin (to an extent). I get that Lee and Culpepper are the SS depth but there are a lot more pieces. I don't think Lee is going anywhere so he could shift to 2B or 3B as you say which means Lewis, Keaschall, and Julien need to be moved around. I just don't see it happening unless someone is moved or injured. It's a very good problem to have. Jenkins is the same situation, Buxton, Larnach, Wallner, E. Rod, Roden, Outman, Fedko, Gonzalez McCusker all potentially ahead of him
  3. I think Culpepper will be late next year if at all. He is doing very well at AA but has not reached AAA. There are too many in front of him yet. *That could change if they trade a guy or two (Julien, Miranda) in the offseason.
  4. Astros ate the majority of the contract. It would have been a better prospect if the Twins paid the majority. I am not taking away from the player we got he might end up being a very good player for Twins.
  5. I would really hope the Twins don't trade with the reds for a guy who died in 2003 at the age of 83. I am sure Hector was good but feel like it would be a one-sided trade.
  6. They only people that discussed Jax as a starter were the people at Twins Daily. Jax is were they want him and that isn't changing. They have guys at AAA that they would bring up if they sell off any starters.
  7. I wouldn't make that statement. That being said, how they handle the Pablo injury will determine what happens. Eeles can hit and if they fall out of it I could see them trading Willi which would give him a spot. What is with all the Lefty hitters though!?!
  8. I think the Twins Daily writers are the only ones who think of Varland as a starter. He should have been strictly pen last year.
  9. You would do better in a Pinch than Margot!
  10. I don't think the Twins get enough in return. I like some of the ideas just not the package overall.
  11. The only one I think I may consider is Buxton, but I would have to be blown away by offer. I agree on keeping everyone else. Pitching wise if it isn't a clear upgrade, it makes 0 sense. Trade Paddack, probably. SWR, Festa and Matthews I would be very hesitant. As far as bats I think I would be ok with Vasquez, Castro, Larnach being traded. Are we going to get a huge return, probably not but that is where I sit. Twins were right there with Clevland until Ryan got hurt. It spiraled after that.
  12. Dusty Baker would have had the Twins in the WS this year. Would they have won? Probably not but spending 2 billion on contracts is not needed to win. They have some big contracts too.
  13. The First part of your statement is incorrect. They know what they are doing. The last two sentences are correct however, they don't know how to run a sports team and think their moves have no consequences.
  14. I understand what you are saying but he was "coaching" while with the Twins. I wouldn't hate Cruz as the pick as I felt the Twins players did better hitting when he was here. Bomba Squad
  15. My fault I read it fast and thought you said with Varland, Festa and Matthews being first up from AAA
  16. Absolutely not. Varland is no more than a pen guy. I have been saying this since before the season started. He proved it this year. The pen is where they need the most help anyway.
  17. You could argue that Festa and Matthews were bright spots too. I don't get into the analytics but from afar they seemed good. Overall ERA may look scary but just like Sim, the increased workload played into that I believe.
