    If trading one, I trade Duran. I don't like the velocity drop. It's a few years back but there is some injury history with him. And I just think Jax needs some time as a closer to develop that mindset. And I do think the Twins will trade Duran if they trade one of them. Their reason - they don't like the higher $ relievers taking up a limited (self-imposed) cap space.

    Going back to last year, certainly at the beginning of the year (and maybe even mid-season), Jose Rodriguez was on this list. Today he was released. Wow, that train went off the tracks fast.

    Exactly what I was going to say. The only reason besides money to move Dobnak is to create room for someone else, Prielipp.

    That wasn't a sell-off. We were buyers and many people have problems with our buying decisions.

    Most everyone knew we would be "stuck" with Correa's contract by the end of his deal, meaning he was no longer putting up #'s to support it. I certainly didn't think it would this soon. He has slowed noticeably in the field and turned into a singles hitter who can't hit in the clutch. The relevance to this topic - no way you can tear everything down because you can't get rid of Correa. Therefore, can't trade Ryan because he's hard to replace. You can trade Duran and get assets that will help you in 2026 though. The Twins are good at developing and finding bullpen guys. And sell any pending free agent. If we really want them for next year, they will be available in a few months. Retool for 2026 and at least have a faster team on the field.

    DeBarge stole his 50th base of the season. Wow!

    Correa - look at his numbers with runners in scoring position, especially with 2 outs. They are terrible. I can tell you the pitchers are going to throw him breaking stuff on the outside edge of the plate and Correa's going to pull his front shoulder out. Why can't he adjust. This for a guy who makes up 25% of the payroll.

    Dodgers - if you want Duran, give us Rushing, Hope and Ferris. You can always buy their replacements in free agency. See how good Vasquez is hitting against you. We'll even add him to the trade so you have a backup catcher.

    Lee seems to swing at too many pitches out of the strike zone. Then he gets on the wrong side of the count. If he can fix that, I think he will do just fine.

    At least this year, Gonzalez appears to be the OF version of Luis Arraez.

    You labeled Emma Rodriguez a corner OF. That must mean he won't stick in CF. Along with injuries, that downgrades him some more. Can Jenkins at least stick in CF? We need someone out there post-Buxton.

    Gonzalez and Jenkins are having so many multi hit games lately. That is currently a murderous top of the order with Culpepper in front of them and Rosario and Fedko behind them.

    Mickey Gasper's status changed to "taxi squad" for the Saints today. Does that mean a trade is already happening for the Twins?? Edit: False alarm - Ryan Jeffers wife is having a baby soon.

    Mejia couldn't find the strike zone on but one of his first 18 pitches (called strike on Larnach was way low) and yet we are swinging, when we are down 5. I just don't like what I call 'baseball sense' sometimes.

    Many were calling for the Twins to dump Raya but this is why you hang with pitchers with talent for a long time, especially when they continually face many guys older than them. If the Twins make a move at the back end of the pen, Raya could suddenly be a very important piece in 2026 (I believe he will be in the bullpen).

    A lot of people wanted good defense from our top pick, including me. Sounds like we got that. His ceiling depends on his bat.

    Agreed. Somehow, I was thinking he was with the "Red" Sox. Anyway, I would trade Duran for a high level catching prospect. But, yes, the White Sox wouldn't do that trade.

    Sabato batting #8 in the lineup tells me the Twins have no plans to bring him up this year (and this is the area he usually bats). Could also say they won't add him to the 40 man roster. Usually those types of guys bat in the top four spots to get extra AB's.
