  1. I know Louie wants to be a starter, and he probably will be again...but he looks great as a reliever. He even seems more relaxed and comfortable coming out of the pen. He always seemed kind of jumpy, or nervous, to me when he started games. I think he's wrapped pretty tight anyway, but I don't see that as much when he pitches in relief. He's going to be a real asset for us either way, but I love him coming out of the pen.
  2. When Wallner squares one up, it's got some juice on it!
  3. Can we win one for Sonny for a change? Like put up 10 runs for him early, somehow? Might be tough with this lineup, but the guy deserves it.
  4. Looking forward to seeing Stewart back in the pen. Hopefully he's close to, or at 100%, and is ready to eat a few innings when he's needed. No ill will towards Floro, but I won't miss him. He might clear anyway and end up with the Saints next season.
  5. Just saw that they activated Paddack today. I'd bet we see him out there pretty soon.
  6. Disappointed with the lineup Rocco put out there yesterday. Sonny deserved better. He's pitched great all season.
  7. OUCH! Hope we don't lose another SS.
  8. Another very good performance by Sonny...and unless we can scratch across a run, he's gonna get saddled with the loss. He's been getting shafted all season with games like this.
  9. He definitely thought it was in the seats. He's getting really bad at judging distance on fly balls to the outfield.
  10. Has Luplow EVER played 1B before? I honestly don't know. Not the best throw, but he fanned on that one.
  11. The lineup isn't particularly inspiring, but not really all that surprising I guess. Sonny might have to put some zeros up there. Maybe they can surprise all of us and put a bunch of runs on the board.
  12. Probably too early to think about doing that. Louie's got the stuff and the mentality to do it, and he's looked real good in relief so far in a very small sample size, but I don't know that I'm ready to throw him out there and close games yet. He's somewhat prone to giving up the long ball, which wouldn't play well in a closers role. I'd rather ride it out with Duran, even though he's struggling a little bit right now. He's our best option.
  13. I don't have any other ideas what the playoff roster should, or will look like...other than what's already been suggested. My only take is...I'd prefer if Buxton wasn't on it.
  14. Just saw a report from Dan Hayes, that Buxton is scheduled to resume his rehab assignment with the Saints today. He's going to be the DH.
  15. Lookout...we're in danger of getting Jaxxed!
  16. What the hell were Kep and MAT doing out there on that one? That was easily catchable.
  17. Greene has 14k's in 7 innings. Normally I'd say that's pretty impressive, but then he's pitching against us, so that tempers it quite a bit. I'd love to see Cincy pull him though.
  18. Vazquez can really barrel them up, can't he? 😆
  19. He's eatin our lunch right now, that's for sure.
  20. Just read that CC's mri showed a "full thickness tear of the central cortex of his plantar facia" This is from Betsy Helfand of the Pioneer Press. Apparently, this is a good thing as it might alleviate the discomfort he's feeling in the foot. I sure hope he's back for the playoffs.
  21. Yep...I just turned on the game and saw that CC got put on the 10 day IL. Not great news at all. I had already voted yes, but the IL stint probably means he's done until the playoffs.
  22. I think CC will play again before the end of the season. I believe his mentality is to play hurt, unless he has a bone sticking out somewhere. The foot has to be affecting his hitting, which probably won't change until he's has a full off season to rest it, but his defense has been superb all along, which is extremely important. We may need him in the field more than at the plate.
  23. If Lewis goes down, we could be in deep doo doo.
  24. That Great American Ballpark is definitely a very nice place. Light years better than Riverfront Stadium. All those cookie-cutter parks were terrible. You're right, they have a good young team and they're in the race. They should be drawing a lot better than they do.
