  1. Very cool! Enjoy the game and continue the streak!
  2. Josh Winder just got put on the 15 day IL with a right shoulder impingement. Might explain why he didn't pitch that well his last couple times out. Not good news at all. They also brought up Trevor Megill.
  3. With all the shifts going on, he'll be playing where the SS normally would play anyway. Give him some reps in LF too.
  4. Agreed...without Sally in the line up, KC is losing their best weapon. We need to go in there and break out the brooms.
  5. I'd give Larnach a crash course at 1st base, and bring up Lewis and put him in left. I know Kirilloff can play 1st, but I don't trust the wrist to hold up. That way, we'd get Larnach's and Lewis's bats in the line up.
  6. Lewis just went 3 for 3 in his first game back with the Saints, with a homer and a SB. He's going to make it very hard to keep him at AAA.
  7. The best thing about that deal...is dumping Donaldson. It almost didn't/doesn't matter to me who we got for him. I'm not particularly a big fan of Urshela or Sanchez, and I never was. Sanchez is nothing special as a catcher or hitter, and Urshela is really just a back up infielder. Basically...good field, no hit. One thing for sure, Urshela is crushing it defensively. I would shop both those guys at the deadline and see what develops.
  8. Clevinger had a knee injury/inflammation/soreness, that delayed him at the beginning of this season. I believe his elbow/arm from the TJ was completely healed and ready. I have him on a couple fantasy teams, so I had to keep tabs on his progress.
  9. Best of luck to him and hopefully we see him at full strength in 2023.
  10. This is what we absolutely need to do...beat up on these bad teams. We have to do the same thing to KC and Det over the next couple weeks.
  11. Talk about empty stands...I know they don't draw, but there's only about 14 people in the stands today in Oakland. Ok, maybe I exaggerated a little bit, but there sure aren't many folks there.
  12. Very nice to see CC back!
  13. Disappointing, but not real surprising. I think Lewis is definitely ready to play in the bigs, but the reality is, he also hasn't played much ball in the last couple years. His primary position is SS, so with Correa back, that limits the options. Do you get rid of Urshela at 3rd? The guy's been awesome defensively and starting to hit better. We'd be losing a vacuum cleaner there. There's already a crowded OF situation, and Larnach will be back soon too. Also enough DH candidates for now. Just too many players and not enough positions. Don't get me wrong...I like Lewis a lot and he'll be a very good ballplayer here. If Correa wasn't here, Lewis would be my everyday SS. I don't know what the right answer is. It's a tough situation, but he'll be back.
  14. 1) Where do you follow the Twins from? I'm in Lakeville. 2) What's your jobby job? Retired distribution supervisor for Snyder Drug Stores. 3) How 'bout hobbies? Golf, fantasy baseball/football, HO scale slot cars, softball...before the body gave out. 4) How long have you followed the Twins? Moved here in 82, so definitely since then. From the east coast before that. 5) How many games do you attend a season? 5-10. Used to be more. 6) Who is your favorite all-time Twin? Bert. Great pitcher for a lot of bad teams. 7) Who is your current favorite Twin? Probably Polanco. 8 )What is the coolest/craziest/most absurd/etc thing you've seen in person at a Twins game? Meeting Tony O. 9) What is the most memorable thing you've seen in person at a Twins game? Bert's number retirement day. 10) What is your favorite all-time Twins moment? "SEE YA TOMORROW NIGHT!"
  15. No, he wasn't There was a report earlier today that said he would be activated before tonight's game. Now, the reports are that he'll be activated either tomorrow or Friday. We wait just a little longer.
  16. Did they activate Correa? I thought that was going to happen before tonight's game. I figured he'd be playing.
  17. Remember this one? Mike Fiers from a few years ago. Makes me wanna cry right now!
  18. When my son was little, I shaved my moustache/beard off...once. When he saw me, he started crying his eyes out. Not sure if I was that ugly, or if he wondered who the hell this new guy was?
  19. Here's what Rollie looked like pre-stache.
  20. Here's to all us moustache guys...and also anybody else out there, if applicable. I don't want to leave anyone out. I've had mine for over 50 years. Snidely Whiplash rocks!
  21. Just saw that Buck is going to sit/rest again tonight. Looks like this is the way it's going to be the rest of the way.
  22. It doesn't matter what sport, or what team, there's always going to people who don't like the coach/manager...and there's always going to be people who do like the coach/manager. That's a given and it comes with the territory. Depending on the players and how a team is constructed, the same coach/manager could be a lights out genius for one team...or a crash and burn idiot with another. How many times have we all seen that? Surround the guy/gal with quality players, and they'll probably do very well. Surround them with stiffs, and they'll probably fail miserably. We seem to be in the middle there somewhere. We're not great, but we're not total crap either. Would it be nice to win some playoff games and go to another WS? Hell yeah it would. Is it going to happen anytime soon? More than likely, no. A lot of things would have to break our way for that to happen. I don't think Rocco is going to single handedly get us there either. I think Rocco is a work in progress. He's still learning how to do this job. He didn't go through the minors managing here and there, gaining experience. He's not "old school" by any means. He's not a whole lot older than a lot of active players. He's definitely "new school". Do I agree with some of the decisions he makes? Nope, not at all. I think he tends to lean too much on those nice little pieces of paper he has in front of him, instead of what I would call gut instinct, or even common sense. Maybe that's good, maybe not. I'm not smart enough to figure all of it out. I am willing to give him some time to see what happens, and what he develops into. He seems to have a pretty good relationship with his players/team, and that's a plus. You don't hear anyone on the team griping and second guessing him...that's our job. I'd see what happens this season and probably next too. Maybe the choice will be a lot clearer by then. Maybe Fal-Vine will decide that Rocco needs to go bye bye? Who knows? I don't know that there's better choices out there to bring in here anyway.
  23. Congrats on the book Dave! You should be very proud. I will definitely give it a read. As for the game tonight...most of it is going to be past my bed time. I'll watch the first few innings, then the tv is gonna be off and it's lights out. I'm old and broken, and can't do these west coast games anymore. Unfortunately, I'm one of those early to bed, early to rise fossils. Hopefully, we can at least win the series out there. Archer needs to start showing something besides dancing around the mound for 3-4 innings.
  24. Just saw that he's in the line up tonight out in Oak. Two games in a row!
  25. Gio is money at 3B! He's saving us.
