  1. I disagree that things are “too negative” in articles or comments. First of all it is a very subjective notion. Someone upthread commented that the site has gotten too negative in recent history. If you look at what has transpired with this team after the playoffs and before the recent winning streak it hasn’t been pretty. If you are going to write objectively about those topics it is going to come across as negative to some people. I don’t want someone to whitewash or sugarcoat things to avoid coming across as negative as long as it is objective. I’m not picking on Seth but I don’t find his assessments of minor leaguers useful because he only writes positive things. I do really appreciate the work he puts into it however. My greater concern is not positive or negative - it is when certain posters repeat the same argument or opinion ad naseum because they have to get the last word or “win” the debate. State your opinion and discuss new angles but move on.
  2. So fun to see the Twins battling hard the entire game. Jeffers and Miranda are locked in. Miranda has looked more comfortable at third and has played his way back into the Twins future. Trevor P seems like a good dude but man can he hijack a broadcast. Thought I was at a frat party for a while.
  3. I guess I didn’t realize there were naysayers on ERod. Vast majority of what I read is very positive.
  4. I have offered my opinion on this subject before so I will spare everyone a repeat other than to say the Twins deserve any bad stuff that comes their way. Most irritating to me is the sanctimonious press release saying how sorry they are and that they had nothing to do with it. They might have the worst PR skills of any major corporation I’ve ever seen.
  5. Sometimes you win and sometimes the other team loses. The Twins played so sloppily that they were begging to get beat. Alas the ChiSox were just a little worse. Really glad to have Durán back. If the sausage bit were to end yesterday it wouldn’t be soon enough.
  6. This. He’s missed a couple pitches here and there and have really cost him. There also have been a couple plays that could have been made behind him that weren’t. I’ve watched most of his starts and the only thing I have noticed is that it seems like he doesn’t throw his change up as much as before.
  7. I’ve seen high school games with fewer mistakes. Both teams deserve to lose this game.
  8. So much for that theory. If we can get out of this mess only down one we will have it better than we deserve.
  9. SWR still has a chance to pitch a good game. Important to get the boys right back in the dugout.
  10. He didn’t light the world on fire but the sample is small and it’s his first time in the big leagues. I hope he gets lots of reps in CF and 2nd base. If he can play a legit CF his value goes up considerably.
  11. I really enjoy the site. In particular the information about the minor league teams is invaluable. I find some of the Front Page articles to be “forced”. Like they had to write about something. Sometimes they are written right after a lengthy thread on the same subject posted in the Twins Baseball forum. I realize having daily content isn’t easy but maybe there are other avenues to explore like a brief biography of a Twins player both present and past. Or a This Day in Twins History. I think some of the younger members might be amazed at the greatness of Twins past. A story about Lyman Bostock might be an example. I enjoy most of the posters as there is a lot of baseball knowledge out there. Of course there are some posters who are argumentative and get really tiring but I don’t know what you do about that. It’s the Internet. One final idea might be to create an Analytics forum. A lot of people seem to like this aspect of Twins discussion more than anything else. mill be here daily.
  12. Are you referring to Grossmans single to right? It was a bloop hit - Thielbar got the fastball in and he fought it off. That pitch to that spot is going to be an out most of the time.
  13. This is my concern as well. And if one of the top three starters get hurt - look out.
  14. Don’t look now but Miranda is playing a steadier third base than in the past. Last night he picked up a hard hit grounder and gave a perfect feed to Farmer to turn two. Anything less and the runner at first would be safe. Ryan did a great job getting the job done without his best command. Lots of fastballs not quite up enough in the zone and his sweeper was all over the place. His split has turned into an important pitch. Another bad strike zone last night. Thankfully it was bad for both teams.
  15. Normally I would say no way but they are one starter injury away from a big problem. Never thought I would say this but I have more confidence in Sands than Festa or Dobnak or even the current version of Varland. Of course the question is how much stuff will he lose having to pitch multiple innings?
  16. I think you nailed it. I’ve enjoyed watching Martin - he adds something to the lineup.
  17. Tough play but if Miranda can come up with that shot in the 5th or even knock it down Pablo might have got out of that inning. He’s making the routine plays so that’s a start. Martin giving a glimpse of what could be. His profile as a hitter could really round out this lineup.
  18. Yes. At a minimum we shouldn’t need to sign the Margot and Santana types next year. Both players provide some diversity to the lineup.
