Agreed. The ump made a motion indicating the balk was due to hand movement. I didn’t see anything unless we are measuring in quantum physics or something. This is my issue with most officiating in all sports - if in doubt don’t call it.
It was also interesting that the Cards sent two runners in much the same way. They must have picked up a tell in Pablo’s delivery.
It is because he is right at the point where it’s tempting to not let him walk but also risky to extend him for a lengthy contract, especially because he doesn’t hit so well you would DH him or move him to first.
Again any of these extension articles have to include the players age - it’s critical to the thought process. Comparing Raleigh and Jeffers is a joke - they are not at the same level at all.
Given the Twins part time usage of catchers it seems silly to give one of them big money. I don’t mind Jeffers but he really is the definition of average. Pay him the next two years and move on.
Obviously not the start Pablo wanted. He gave up some hard hit balls but several hits were bleeders and bloops. His command definitely needs to get sharper but the stuff was there. More worried about the offense as it looked like second half last year. There were several exceptional defensive plays made - all by the Cards. Defense essentially won them the game.
Ive said all along that I believe the Pohlads intend to sell the team. The trick is that they have a price in mind and we don’t know what that is or if it reasonable. For that reason who knows when a sale will go through.
Nailed it. The Twins hope he never even warms up and is sent back down whenever it works best. If he pitches it will be picking up a couple innings in a blowout. For this situation it actually makes sense.
