One of the positives with Houston’s season is not only is he hitting, he’s hitting for some power and he has been consistent. No crazy streaks good or bad just 2-5 with an extra base hit frequently.

Royce not knowing where to go with the ball has nothing to do with the number of games he has played at first. Even as a third baseman you have to understand what needs to happen on a ball hit to the infield. One of the most basic things taught in Little League and Babe Ruth ball is “what do I do if the ball is hit to me”. He blew it - plain and simple.

I’ve been a dedicated Twins fan since the late 60s. One thing I have observed about the Pohlad family is you can never go wrong by being skeptical of anything they say. I will judge them by their actions and not their words. So far Tom is jingling the Pohlad pocket change.

I like having prospects but I have no issue with what the Twins gave up. Amick was another Falvey bat first how do I catch this thing player. He’s basically a DH and has no chance to ever be a good enough hitter to DH in the bigs. Who knows about Bruin - the sheer odds say he never makes the bigs.

For me, they can’t send Fundy down fast enough. Me no likely relievers with a 1.5+ whip.

I’m optimistic about Rojas. His potential is through the roof and if he ends up being a good starter with 5 years of control that’s a pretty good deal. I’m disappointed in Roden. He’s not hitting particularly well and his defense has not lived up to his reputation.

That’s quite an ending. Here is a shudder to think idea…..the Twins were two swings away from being swept by the Royals. Baseball.

For sure, it’s done all the time but I don’t profess to know when a minor leaguer is ready short of complete domination in AAA which he hasn’t done yet. My main point is I want what is going to make him the best player in the shortest amount of time not necessarily to prop up some misguided playoff quest.

I want Jenkins up but only when his development in AAA is complete. I don’t know when that is but the Twins should. If they have determined it is best for Jenkins to play longer in AAA then I’m ok with it.

I definitely check it out each day. One of the more promising developments on the farm is Houston’s hitting.

I think Rojas should be in tier 2 all by himself. No way Adam’s belongs in that conversation. If they are really going to try and make the playoffs they need at least two pitchers that slot in tier 2 or above. One preferably being left handed as Rogers and Funderburk are not sufficient. So excited about Morris and Rojas (and Gomez). That’s the start of a good young bullpen.

I’ve had the same thought. Jeffers has turned himself into a fine, professional hitter regardless of position. He’s not a particularly good defensive catcher so it would be interesting to see if he could be decent at first. His hitting would maybe get even better as his body wouldn’t be beat up. They really don’t have any first baseman coming up either. We’ve got Royce but, at this point, I would say Jeffers will be the far better hitter.

With two of their better prospects being SS it seems like anything they are willing to trade should go towards pitching.

Does Austin Martin have any trade value? I view Martin and Keaschall as redundant and would rather move forward with Keaschall. My guess is he doesn’t have much trade value but I am interested in others opinions.
