    Because if they trade Pablo the Twins could make $30-50 million next year and they would get their proportion.

    I think there is a better chance than not that this happens. It will be difficult to be a playoff team next year with a stagnant lineup and no bullpen. Then a lockout in 2027 means 2028 is the first year we will compete. Anyone who won’t be here then might as well be traded. All the extra payroll saved will pay the bills during the lockout. It could work if they do a good job on the trades. Of course if they don’t then we will be lost in the desert for a while. Please don’t take this post as me endorsing this idea rather what I think they are likely to do.

    Funderburk is afraid to throw strikes. He knows his stuff is marginal.

    He’s got a funky little move with his throwing hand prior to release sometimes - like his hand slides under the ball and the ball sails. I hope his arm is still recovering because if this is it we’ve got a problem.

    Agree. The defense wouldn’t be great but sufficient if they turn into above average hitters. Will be interesting to see what happens. I like that they are both going to get an extended run so we can let their play decide. I do think the chance that both end up as plus hitters is less than 50%.

    And after their TV deal is stabilized / enhanced. I don’t know this is the exact scenario but anyone that dismisses it is naive.

    Will be interesting to see if he gets exclusive run at SS there as they have DeBarge Winokur and DeAndrade all having played some SS.

    At least we are going to find out. Both have to hit better or this question answers itself. I will say that Royce looks better in the field this year. Lee is a funny one - he looks most comfortable at SS but his range will prevent him from being anything but slightly below average. He is surehanded but looks less comfortable at 3rd and 2nd where he could be acceptable and in theory should be easier. Definitely hoping Culpepper can be the answer.

    Hatch looks like he wants a spot next year. I think Wallner should retool his swing. He has so much power he could eliminate the leg kick and still hit it a mile.
