  1. Gordon has to be on the table. First of all there is increasing concern about him staying at short (see Beradinos recent article). If he can't stick at ss he loses substantial value. Mostly they need to get some real pitchers in here during the core 4s cost controlled years. How will they do that without trading?
  2. Even without the leg kick he still is kind of long as his hands are held high and it seems to take an extra split second to get to the zone. He's also off balance a lot-hes kind of a diver which doesn't help. Anyway glad for the improvement.
  3. I don't believe Berrios's problem was tipping his pitches. That was a theory that was never substantiated. He's improved his command compared to last year.
  4. Sounds like Molitor is not happy. I wonder if this is a sign of bigger changes to come.
  5. On the brighter side it looks like Busenitcz might have what it takes. The only way this bullpen gets fixed quickly is for him and another young guy come and succeed.
  6. Thus would be good news to me as he can't beat out any of the candidates you listed for the 5th spot. And you would be wasting the arb dollars on a 6th starter.
  7. I respect your premise but don't share your view. Money aside if they don't improve on him for their rotation I will be severely disappointed.
  8. Agreed on the stays in the rotation. If he continues like this there is no way I would tender him next year. His number will be pushing 5 million. Take his money and Santiago money and get a real pitcher. I'm usually a glass half full guy but at some point the numbers don't lie. He has been a bad MLB pitcher for the vast majority of his time in the bigs.
  9. I keep Erv because they should be competitive next year and there is no way we can build an acceptable rotation for next year without him. I'm fine with trading other assets where we have a surplus.
  10. I'm getting old. I'm still not buying this view. Instead of complaining about the ladder don't let them hit it there. At what point do we just say he ain't getting it done because he is not good enough?
  11. At this point the bar is pretty low to match Vargas production at the plate or in the field.
  12. Sure that happens. It happens frequently to all pitchers. He should be a lot more worried about the 3 run Homer that was crushed. What's your win probability in games where your starter gives up a 3 run homer? Not high.
  13. Sorry not interested in the bad luck theory Kyle. He seems like a really nice guy but whenever he speaks about his performances I get the feeling he is in denial.
  14. I think it was good to ditch the kick. He has to make better contact or he will never succeed. Kirby came up as a contact hitter with a compact swing. Once he was an accomplished big league hitter he added the leg kick. Buck also has a huge pitch recognition challenge as well.
  15. For Dillon Gee......wow. I think I want Terry Ryan back.
  16. I agree about Curtiss. He throws hard doesn't walk many and is handling the pressure of closing. Haley is worth a chance but not Curtiss?
  17. He and Gibson look scared on the mound. Their confidence is shot and I get the feeling neither of them trust that they can throw it where they need to.
  18. Let's consider it a win that Vargas didn't get optioned.
  19. I have posted this elsewhere but I see a trend pitching to Sano. Fastballs up and sliders low and away. I hate to say it but Sano is going to hit a rough patch until he adjusts. I think the book is out as he loves to golf those low fastballs.
  20. The Os pitched him up in the zone and he struggled. I think he's going to see a steady diet of that until he adjusts.
  21. He throws hard IIRC. I wonder what his secondary pitches are like. Maybe he should be in the conversation with Burdi as first call ups.
  22. Honestly I don't know what I would do probably nothing while we are winning but neither Castro or giminez is good enough to block a legit prospect.
  23. Ok. Pretty much screwed up that inning.
  24. Grossman has his back pocket out. As if anybody much less the youth of Minnesota give a bleep if he chews.
