  1. Buxtons swing has gotten long again. His hands are so high for someone who struggles with pitch recognition. He needs to prioritize contact and worry about power later
  2. Dobnak is quoted after the game as saying he pitches to contact. That grinding sound you here is the gnashing of teeth on these boards.
  3. Berrios has as good of stuff as Bieber. The difference is command and it is huge
  4. Smeltzer was dominant for his first inning and some. He got lit up but could have been out of there with some help from Polanco. A four hopper that makes it by Donaldson and Jorge was not good
  5. Nice article Seth. Most excited about Duran. Not as familiar with Chalmers and don’t like Alcala s lack of control. Hopefully that improves with development
  6. Bailey looks like the clock might have struck midnight. I sure hope isn’t Perez version 2
  7. I tell ya even as a kid I got no respect. We had a dog that we called Egypt because he left a pyramid in every room. No respect at all
  8. I give credit to the front office. If you can’t get an ace then build depth. They have done a great job of that. I feel that the Twins can withstand injuries or poor performance pretty easily. It will hurt in a playoff series but their rotation should get us there
  9. This what I don’t want as it weakens the outfield all the way around. I wanted a Maybin type player that would leave Max in right and Eddie in left
  10. You want Marwin playing center field? Not me. He is pretty much only subsistence level in the outfield at this point
  11. I have not understood why the twins haven’t acquired a right handed hitting backup outfielder over the last several years. It’s been a need for a while....
  12. At this point I would be more surprised if Sano didn’t test positive for COVID 19.
  13. We will see. Like all prospects the odds are stacked against him. Would be happy if he came close to being Berrios.
  14. Pitching is definitely the best currency followed by true shortstops catchers and center fielders. Corner spots are pretty easy to fill so I am really skeptical this is what will get pitching in return
  15. Since most teams are reluctant to trade away good pitching I guess I don’t like the premise
  16. This incident is common knowledge. Of course what he said is wrong. The timing of this article seems odd.
  17. I read that Brees took a knee in protest before the national anthem at some point. Seems to me that is a germane point. I think it is possible to respect the flag and not condone police violence against people of color (any color).
  18. Your best post on the topic Nick. I completely agree with that message. I’m not going to judge Kepler rather I am going to figure what I can do to create change. First and foremost this will now become my top litmus test for any candidate in the coming election.
  19. I’ve read every single one of them. I don’t think you know how you are coming across to well reasoned people. Take a breath. We are (and probably 95% of the posters ) here are on the same side. Not everyone has to think exactly like you.
  20. The focus on Kepler is based on flimsy information. We have no idea how he feels on this subject and to demand that he do something perfectly acceptable to you or Nick is the ultimate in condescension. I think this whole situation is a travesty and I am going to take steps I personally value to try and improve this problem. Meantime I suggest you lay off the holier than thou attitude. You are not helping the cause.
  21. I agree that we have to do more- this is a crisis. Like a lot of people I’m not sure how. My own little thing is I try to acknowledge and speak to every black person I come across. My very little way of trying to build a bridge I don’t think it was proper to focus on Kepler. We have no idea what his feelings are and I don’t think it’s right to call him out unless we know. There is a lot of condescension in these comments including the owners. That is never a good way to persuade people.
  22. It was posted on MLBTR? Oh I guess that’s all the proof we need. For the record I like our front office but people just go hyperbolic so often on this subject
  23. The whole Cleveland thing is speculation. We have no idea what his role was. I’m not ripping the guy I’m just saying slow the roll. He acquired Odo which was great but he was hardly some unknown only to be mined by Falvey
  24. I hate the DH. I don’t care about pitchers hitting, hell I just watched Jason Castro flail away for the last three years. I like the strategy that it brings to the game and the position switches
  25. Garver is a good reminder that some prospects don’t make it until later age. His swing is so solid that I expect him to continue having success with the bat
