Clearly an F. The White Sox may have passed by the Twins. The Pohlad's need to go.

I would love to see Cruz get the job. His energy is what drove the Bomba squad. Hunter would be good too. Needs to be a baseball guy and not a total analytics need. Would also like to see some fire, Rocco was to nice.

How many Wild card teams are you counting on calling likely playoff teams? NY or Baltimore are pretty much locks for 1. The Twins would need to be the second one in any trade scenario. Against current playoff teams since May they are 3 and 4. My main concern and why I stated go on a run is the record against Clev, NY and Baltimore who would be likely second round opponents.

According to your chart, they are actually 8-7 and 1. Boston, Seattle and Arizona are not currently playoff teams which account for 4 our your wins. They are 3-7 and 1 minus those series. Against current division leaders they are 0 and 6. How does it sound now?

I still do not believe this team should invest any prospects into trying to improve for this year. The record against good teams just does not support them making any kind of a run this year. 1 and 3 since the break against good competition lends credibility. Sell of the expensive Vets and reset for next year.

Lets see some article's about what the Twins can get at the trade deadline as sellers. This team would be terrible if it wasn't for the easy schedule. We will not be able to play Chicago and Oakland all season. They just looked bad against a pretty bad Tampa team. I do not believe this is a team we should be trading assets away to try and improve so we can get slaughtered in the playoffs again.

This team does not look good. I think they should be sellers and not buyers. Teams with good starting pitching do not have long losing streaks like the Twins have had. Sell of the veteran's and pick up some talent and reset next year when the TV stuff has hopefully been taken care of.

2024 Minnesota Twins Top 15 Prospects
Chris Spencer commented on Ted Schwerzler 's blog entry in Off The Baggy
In my opinion you are under rating Matt Canterino like you did Julian last year. His strike out numbers are elite and putting him below somebody like Soto is crazy to me. I also believe Prieplipp is better than several of the prospects on your list. TJ surgery doesn't kill a prospects status anyore.- 57 comments

Lee and Julian don't play on the same side of the infield, that they are log jammed makes no sense. I would hate to see either of them go. Trade guys that don't have a lots of years of control like Polanco or Farmer if you are worried about numbers. Let the young pitchers develop instead of continuing to trade our young position players away to rent pitchers.

What Defines Success for Byron Buxton in 2024?
Chris Spencer replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I am not on board with the injury prone stuff. Sometime injuries happen and are inevitable but there are also players that know how to take care of themselves and other players that dont. There are also players that can play through injuries and players I would call SOFT. Buck is on the wrong side of both arguments. To me he is either in Center, on the bench or DL. I would not waste more than a few games of DH on him. In my opinion he is a huge liability at DH. -
Is This a Championship Core?
Chris Spencer replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
No chance I would have Buxton listed as a championship core player. He is a below average DH making star money. If he was playing 75% of his games in center I might reconsider. He is a negative asset to the team as its sits now. Correa's numbers might not have been awesome last year but he brings leadership quality's that are hard to quantify. I would have Pablo as part of the trio ahead of Buxton. I would say Royce, Walker and Brooks in a couple years has a better chance.- 62 replies

Where Do the Twins Go from Here
Chris Spencer replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I disagree with the help has to come part, I would start dumping veterans and adding prospects. Trade players like Kepler, Taylor, Vasquez, Farmer, Pagen and Lopez. I would also consider putting Buxton on the IL until he can play in the outfield, even if that is next year or forever. Make room for some of the young guys who are playing at least as well and get them some experience. This team will not compete against good teams in the playoffs and it does not make sense to trade any prospect capital to try and sneak into the playoffs from a terrible division to add more playoff misery to the fan base.- 65 replies
