    Am surprised no one has mentioned the Joey Gallo signing yet. Sometimes you bring in a guy who's been struggling in the hopes he'll turn things around. In Gallo's case, not only had he been struggling for several years, but the Twins gave him ELEVEN MILLION DOLLARS. Let me repeat that...ELEVEN MILLION. And when it was clear he was toast the Twins kept giving him at bats.

    The Correa extension should definitely be among the five worst. Given that so much of his value was tied up in his defense, there had to be concern that he was not going to age well. Him signing that first contract and then exercising the opt out was the best scenario for the Twins. They should have quit while they were ahead.

    Whatever happened, the ownership/front office dynamics have created a mess. The bullpen, which was a strength, is now a glaring weakness. For some reason we have a collection of questionable left-handed hitting outfielders. We have no certainty at any infield positions. Maybe it's not all Falvey 's fault. Maybe the ownership gave conflicting directives on payroll. But at the end of the day Falvey has to execute within those constraints, and I just find it harder and harder to find method to his madness. My only complaint about his firing is that it should have happened at the same time as Rocco.

    This is what gets an NFL GM fired..... Spending piles of money for a "win now" type roster and handing the QB position to someone who has never played in a regular season game.

    But that doesn't really make sense either. I always just assumed Falvey taking over the business side was a temporary thing because of the uncertain ownership situation. That's now resolved, for now. Why would Falvey want to continue on the business side. You would think he'd be uncomfortable in a job for which he has zero qualifications.

    This organization does everything ass backwards. Don't get me wrong, he needed to go. Now you are trying to hire someone who will knowingly inherit Falvey's mess of a roster and hand picked manager. Who's gonna want this job?

    The stock market is at record high valuation levels. Bonds are not as safe as they used to be because of fiscal policy. People are looking for alternative places to park money. As the article states, there is almost nothing safer than a sports team.

    I've never seen Tait play, so I guess I can't offer an educated opinion. However, other than rookie ball, his offensive numbers are nothing to write home about. I get that he's young, but what is it about him that has supposed experts ranking him this high? The Twins paid a high price to bring him into the system. I hope someone knows what they're doing.

    Carl Willis briefly made a living at it when he pitched for the Twins. But yeah, they're few and far between these days.

    Kowar's minor league numbers are nothing to write home about, and he's still working back from Tommy John surgery. I wouldn't bump anyone from the 40-man for him. I'm still hoping Pierson Ohl clears waivers.

    I wouldn't say he's our "Least-Favorite" option. The Twins currently have too many left-handed outfielders. Would I rather have Larnach in the lineup than Clemens, Roden, or Outman? Hell yeah! But knowing the Twins, I suspect they will give those three a long leash, for reasons both good and bad. It just seems like Larnach is the odd man out, which makes me wonder what the plan is.

    They currently have 10 outfielders on the 40-man. Someone needs to go.

    I hope Ohl clears. The numbers were ugly, but he had some encouraging outings.

    I always wonder how these kinds of trade happen. Why Tristan Gray? Did the Twins just really want him based on the recommendation of one of their scouts? Did the Red Sox tell the world he was about to be DFAd, so send your best offer if interested?

    The thing is, none of the other questions really matter if they can't figure out #1 or #2. A difficult and self-inflicted situation.

    For those who think Jeffers will be traded.....why wouldn't a team that needed a catcher have just signed Caratini? I think Jeffers stays put at least until the trade deadline.

    You can tell this is satire because Falvey has never spent money on the bullpen.

    Well said! The problem is we have a GM who wants to show everyone he's the smartest guy in the room, yet he misses the obvious.

    As the article states, the flip switch doesn't always turn on right away. So why waste years developing a guy only to ship him out once he becomes a contributor, only for more projects in return? How does a team sustain success that way? This team will not score many runs, and they like to pull their young starters after five innings. A good bullpen is a necessity for the Twins to compete. They took a strength and turned it into a giant question mark. And trading away a hometown guy is just bad P.R. I really don't know what the hell they were thinking with this trade.

    I don't read too much into it. He could have a personal commitment. He's not under contract, so he really has no obligation to attend.

    It's an interesting thought. I would rather have him off the bench than Kreidler, Wagaman, or Arcia.

    There will be injuries and there will be ample opportunities for Abel, Matthews, and Bradley to get starts. The question is who makes the most of those starts.

    I remember he really stepped up in that game 163 in Chicago. The Twins lost, but it wasn't because of him.
