    Who are the young guys you are talking about? Larnach is 26 and has been a below average hitter since he was called up 3 years ago. Wallner is 25 and hasn't been given a chance and with the way this team has hit I don't believe this FO thinks he is a major league player. After that, who are the young guys?

    The Twins have little to no prospects in AA and AAA, which wouldn't be a bad thing except Lewis is hurt again, Larnach and Miranda have struggled, Wallner hasn't been given a chance, Julien and AK have been good. On the pitching side not very good either.

    I would assume most teams that have hit as poorly as the Twins would have already given Severino a shot or at minimum moved him to AAA. and maybe even Fajardo (24 in AA, looks like he has a good eye and speed) or maybe even Soularie (also 24 in AA, K's are high but also walks) or even Keirsey (26 in AA). Why are these guys wasting away in AA while AAA is loaded with really old non-prospects?

    Have to ask what you mean by younger players? the 20,21,22 year old players in High A, the 22,23 year old players in AA or the 25 or older players in AAA?

    Can't say I disagree with Sell, but I want nothing to do with this FO rebuilding. they have had their time and it has gotten us 21, 22, 23 and zero playoff wins.

    Chapman and nothing IMO. the next year as of now is looking pretty stacked. Seems like don't spend this offseason, figure out what they have (hopefully a new FO) and get ready to spend the following offseason.

    The way I see it the only real differences between the current FO and the last FO is the current FO willing to trade a few of the pitching prospects (Graterol, Petty, Hajjar) Ryan was a great trade, Duran has been great, but it isn't like the old FO had a problem with getting/converting pitchers into the closer role. Not defending the prior FO their time at ended, but this current rotation has come with a price. Ryan - great trade basically free Gray - top 5 prospect and first round draft pick Lopez - all star player Ober - great draft development even with all the injury set backs. Maeda - top 3 prospect Plus the trades for Mahle and Paddock. Don't get me wrong I am fine with this approach (actually like it) but lets not pretend it doesn't come with a cost.

    I think what he is saying is how come the Twins don't have that young superstar player that debuts really young and is really good. (like a Buxton (21), Sano (22), Berrios(22)). It seems like with this front office guys that are young and good are still way down the system and seemingly still years away.

    He just turned 24 and is playing in AA, so decent is about the best we can hope for. in 21 he played in A and A+, in 22 A+ and AA, this year AA, so on this pace he ends up in AAA this year, starts in AAA next year and ends the season at the Twins at age 25. Of course he has K'd 42% of the time so far this year, which basically translates into a career minor league player.

    I got offered two tickets a few rows behind the Twins dugout for yesterday's game. Turned them down and went fishing with my son, didn't catch anything but was more fun than watching this team. That pretty much sums up on how I feel about this Twins team.

    IMO, you are wrong, like I said Berrios was a huge asset and to claim payroll relief is ridiculous. I don't care how Berrios did last year in evaluating a trade from our side, the other side can.

    You might have missed the whole thread, I didn't call Martin or SWR names, the other comment did and I wasn't comparing how well Berrios or Gray did or are doing. You can't have an asset like Berrios and claim it was a good trade because of Salary relief or you get utility guy or relief pitcher, You just can't and claim some sort of win. Like I said there is still time for SWR and somewhat Martin. And Yes 100% Gray was less and asset than Berrios at the time of those trades, if you don't think that you are wrong, the Twins got two top 100 prospects and the Reds got none, so....

    Of all the Twins prospects since 2000, who really are the ones that would have hurt? Mauer, Morneau, Liriano, Berrios, Gibson, and Buxton, some might have stung a bit Baker, Polanco, Arrez, Cuddy, Ramos . The jury is still out on AK, and Lewis Thats it, maybe there are a couple more in the stung catergory.

    When you have an asset like Berrios you don't win a trade by getting a utility player and a reliever. That is a bad trade and I don't care what Berrios does, even if he blows out his arm and never pitches again, doesn't take away the value of the asset at the time of the trade. The Reds had a lesser asset at the time in Gray and got Petty it, that is still TBD how Petty turns out. They also had another lesser asset in Mahle and got Steer and others. Steer has already surpassed what Martin has done in the less time. This BS talk about how much money the twins saved and utility player is only running cover for at this point a terrible, terrible trade. There is still plenty of time for it to turn around Matin and SWR aren't done.

    I would add I believe Sano was the #2 prospect when he had TJ surgery.

    And that is why it is OK, to let a good starter go out another inning when they are pitching great. He took 6 pitches to get though the 9th.

    Why do all Twins prospects under this FO always have a long ways to go? They only guy they have brought up younger than 23 was Arraez (2019). They brought up Celestino as well but it is hard to count him.

    Stop that, the narrative is that he is just a league average pitcher. Averaging over 6 innings a start with a WHIP under 1. 😜

    Was replying to thread of that is why you trade prospects and his response. He seemed worried the Twins have traded a lot of prospects away that did well in exchange,(which I am not sure is really all that true, because up until like a year ago the Twins weren't much into trading prospects) And I was just pointing out for every prospect you trade that turns out decent there are dozens rated just as high or higher that don't.

    Can't agree with this. The Twins could have traded away Jay, Romero, Gonzo, Stewart, Gordon and a ton of others and got somebody back and didn't, so for every prospects that was traded and turned out well, there are dozens of more that didn't get traded ended up not amounting to anything.

    Maybe we should let Ted Schwerzler in on the secret, and he wouldn't have had to waste time writing the article. 😀 I can agree with you on that. So the trade shouldn't be considered a win/loss, it should be considered good/bad, because if you have an asset and you blow the return it should be considered bad. As of right now they have two great assets in Berrios and Pressly and as of now blew them, but they had a decent asset in Escobar and got value, thus a good trade.
