  1. Kansas City stomped Tampa Bay today, do not disregard these victories as gimmes.
  2. Probably Wallner; right now Julien's bat is keeping him up.
  3. The scorers have been as extremely forgiving as some of the posters here; Julien should have a goodly larger number of errors than they scored. He has a lead glove and is a detriment at 2nd, send Buxton to IL and play Julien as DH.
  4. My error, I should have said re-treads from two years ago, but where are Acher, Bundy, Smeltzer, Duffey, plus I said AND SUCH, read every word. i stand by what I said. Pie in the Sky rookies at any position is a crap-shoot, and the fans will boo them, even louder than they did in the last game. Minnesota has become another New York, they boo like little children and I wonder how the rookies will deal with booing.
  5. If they want to bring up a AAA dude who is doing real well Stevenson is better than any of those named, BUT, he plays Center Field and we have Center Fielders. Those who say Kepler should play Center Field, he was about as error prone there as Wallner is in Right Field now, which is probably why he does not play there.
  6. I am glad you mentioned that to him,; some years back another person on a garden site mentioned it but I had totally forgotten. Dedicated nurserys in St. Cloud or Hutch area are fading to maybe one eigth of what once was and so many now have same poo, differnt location. I used to go to Bachman's on 55 and hit one jin Zimmerman a couple of years back but I need to find different ones. Thank you.
  7. Hmm, I am heading down to my garden in Hutch later today. Good soil down there but last years drought was SOB on its best days. Corn, at least some is shoulder high alread; turkeys did not stomp corn over this year. Potato bugs are back, I usually pick and squash them but did not have time last week.
  8. I was writing about last years pitchers and such;. Money problems would come from empty stands just like the seventies when all the rookies simply did not play well enough to enthuse the fans to buy tickets like they did for gents of the sixties and tickets were cheap back then as was the food. Que sera, sera.
  9. As I said it is wishful thinking; the Pohlads know what they have, they have been burned by crap-shoot retreads, they are not going to bring up a bunch of rookies and hope for the best. So far their minor league rookies have been mediocre as a whole.
  10. It would be sweet if he were the Twins version of De La Cruz; in the Big Show before he is 22.
  11. When the Twins were winning earlier this year, they got third rate coverage on the evening sports news; if they go back to losing 100 games, they will get less coverage than Legion baseball games.
  12. Well Kep is still the 3rd fastest Twin playing regularly, I looked at the factors for running speed and they simply cannot measure base stealing due to number of sprints necessary to measure. At that, Kep has the same number of Bolts as Polanco, so that says a bit about why he can steal as well as Polanco, or could.
  13. In 2021 Kepler was 10--0 stealing bases, tied for second most with Gordon and one behind Polanco; I do not think he has lost much speed if any, I think his attitude has changed for some reason. As players coming to the Twins are now dropping, instead having a better season, I am with the group that think their coaching, top to bottom, is a major part of the problem.
  14. Hmm, trade a poor hitting team with good fielding for a poor hitting team with lead gloves.😂
  15. I agree with you to a point there. There is no sparkplug vet. to get them going through low points. At that, if Correa tries to help one, I can see them saying, I already have a better BA than you do.
  16. Pie-in-sky wishful thinking, at best. Pohlads have the Twins to make money, attendance is dropping, putting a team of crap-shoot newbies will not bring in any more fans. Bottom line, money; money comes from fans in the stands. The fact the Twins cannot hit, with either same veterans or newbies who are below what they were before they came here , shows that coaching may not be the only problem , but definatley a large part of it., but blaming the players and saying replacements will fix it , is illogical.
  17. Other teams will develope a new tactic -- hit it to the lead gloves who cannot throw straight, you will gain an extra base.
  18. What other tems do has zero to do with the Twins system.
  19. When and IF, if the rookies are good enough they will be called up without replacing an injury. They are not good enough and turning the Bigs into a quasi-AAA class room is not intelligent. Come next year, it will be interesting to see what pans out without first screwing with rookies minds by throwing them against a level of play still outside their scope. What Cincinatti did with De La Cruz is an extreme rarity nowadays.
  20. You only are speaking of their bats, there gloves are just as importent and the lack of fielding ability is going to be the death of many.. If any of the Twins rookies had the hitting and running ability of Elly De La Cruz, it would be a different story.
  21. If they do that, and the rookie is a dud, he has little value.
  22. Defense beat the Twins last night, in a close game defense makes the difference. Trade top level defense for a bat, Twins still lose.
  23. The Orioles defeated the Yankees 14-1 in their last game. Twins winning two out of three can be done but not if they are scoring only two to three runs per game.
  24. Nothing is blocking Wallner except lack of talent. What keeps Wallner in the minors is the fact that Kepler , in the minors, in 8 years had 4 errors in Right Field; Wallner , in the minors, in 4 years , had 26 errors in Right Field.
