  1. Rooker showed how trusting Spring Training performance can bite you in the butt because you show you are NOT ready
  2. Sadly the last year he hit 49 home runs it should have been 50, but one that the umpire called a ground rule double, because it was an arrow straight shot, the opposing fielder later said: "It never touched the ground."?
  3. I was at the last Yankee game where Mickey Mantle played for the Yankees at Met Stadium. I got to see Mantle hit a solo home run and the Yankees led 1 to zip in the ninth with two outs and one on. Harmon had two strikes, then hits a massive home run to give the Twins a 2-1 victory; only time in my life I saw my Dad jump up and cheer, as was the whole stadium, best baseball memory ever.
  4. Rookies are like Sixth graders moving to junior high, Seniors heading for college, they think they are on top of the world, then reality strike; if they accept that they are not the brightest bulb in the string but have the desire to be one, they will succeed. Most do not but still manage to burn brighter.
  5. Rooker should be on the mind of ALL who think the rookies are going to come up and be some magical potion; Arraez numbers at Third are NEGATIVE, at second he has decent numbers. I hope like heck that the Twins dump Jeffers and put Rortvedt in, his fielding ability is incredible.
  6. Buxton showed fielding ability from the get-go, Larnach is a fielding turtle with a weak arm.
  7. In 2019 the Twins loaded up with free agents, and the record shows it; now they are all gone, and the record shows it.

    My Twins HOF vote

THIS is why the Twins were once so darn good: By Larry Schwartz May 18, 1969 Minnesota Twins second baseman Rod Carew is more than a terrific hitter as he shows today when he goes wild on the bases. After drawing a walk from Detroit's Mickey Lolich in the third inning, Carew and Cesar Tovar, who is on second base, pull off a double steal. Then Tovar steals home, while Carew remains on second. But he doesn't remain there long, and he steals third, easily beating catcher Bill Freehan's throw. Then for the fourth time this season, Carew steals home. The Twins now have several base stealing threats but the manager is like a dud firecracker all fizz, no pop.
  9. I also do greatly, I loved watching him make plays that were impossible for any one else (and when he got too cocky and blew a simple one his expression showed he was bitching at himself) watching him jump for a ball and throw out a runner with both feet off of the ground was marvelous. There is a large group of people here that judge by the bat, or simply hate Simmons to make them feel better which is odd as by that standard , all but Garlick or Kiriloff of the Rookies that came up should have been loathed, with there lousy at bats.
  10. Celestino showed he needs time in the Minors or he may be another Rooker, but his fielding agility would be nice to have. Hopefully they keep Garlick who was the best replacement last season; Gordon, I like his spunk but he remind me too much of Willie Mays Hays.
  11. Pitchers in the Big Show figure out rookies, just as batters figure out rookie pitchers. Now he may show in the Minors if he really belongs in the Majors not just with his bat but his sub-par fielding.
  12. Minor League/Spring Training is for development or simply showing if they belong in the Big Show.
  13. Larnach and Rooker were mediocre if one want to be kind in rating them; Simmons is a top rank fielder. Inadequate outfielders make batters salivate with anticipation, they would love to see Larnach and Rooker out there again.
  14. Gee he was a flop in Spring Training and regular season, when did the magic change happen.
  15. Why not just start the whole Saints team; that is what so many here seem to want.
  16. Arraez is lousy at third, period; the only position with out a negative is 2nd Base and Polanco is there. If the Twins end up with Donaldson, Simmons and Polanco in the infield they have an excellent infiield ; unless the Twins really want to tank, they cannot crap-shoot bringing in some AAA rookie so he can prove he belongs in AAA, they did this, this year.
  17. Back 35 years we used to get a cable show with 3 sport casters on the Chicago station; on one show when they spoke of who should be in the hall of fame and was not, Tony Oliva was the first name they brought up and all agreed.
  18. Simmons, Simmons, he's our man, if he can't do it NOBODY can.?
  19. Last thing the twins need is another guessamatic rookie showing he belong in the Minors on a good day; time will tell if this boy find the Twins inspiring or a a dump like Happ did.
