  1. The Twin have had a genuinely better than average infield defense for two years now, Correa leaves, so does that factor.
  2. Dump an absolute top line player for wishful thinking rookies; sounds too similar to the Orsen Wells allien in invasion panic.
  3. Twins rookies close to the Mendoza line better watch out, Cave's can be dangerous.
  4. A terrible catcher could easily make Walter Johnson, Sandy Koufax, or Bob Gibson look really bad though by just not catching the ball. -- YOUR words.
  5. Not catching the ball has zero reflect on the pitcher if it is in the strike zone; if it is not in the strike zone that has zip to do with the catcher.
  6. Bundy pitched to Sanchez yesterday; there is zero way a catcher can make a pitcher good or bad..
  7. Jake Cave just seems to motor on with .262 batting average plus or minus a couple week after week afte week....
  8. It is amazing, last year Simmons, whose defense was still top five was dissed for his bat (which so far this year is worse) so this year Correa , who is supposed to be better over-all is dissed for his defense, not his bat. A lot of nit picking . The rookies, except for Celestino (Larnach has a weak arm but is better than the others over-all) are the defense failing. Arraez's fielding is a nail-biter most of the time, but I do not see him as a rookie any more.
  9. The possibility of this make position player pitching worth it always. Chris Davis (BAL): May 6, 2012 -- Win, 2 IP, 0 R, 2 K Davis didn’t just get the win in this game -- he pitched well, allowing just two hits in two innings of work and striking out Red Sox players Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Adrián González. Davis started at designated hitter in the game and was 0-for-7 at the point when he took over on the mound for Jim Johnson in the 16th. He got another at-bat, as a pitcher in the top of the 17th and grounded out, making it 0-for-8. But then he turned in his second scoreless inning of work to seal the win for the Orioles. "I'm like, sweet," he said after the game of being asked to pitch. "I get to try something different today because hitting ain't working." Davis is one of five position players to get a pitching win in the Expansion Era, along with John Baker (2014), Wilson Valdez (2011), Brent Mayne (2000) and Rocky Colavito (1968). Davis is the only one to record multiple strikeouts while doing so. This game was doubly notable on the position player pitching front because Red Sox outfielder Darnell McDonald got the loss after giving up the go-ahead three-run homer to Adam Jones in the 17th. It’s the only game in the Expansion Era where position players got both decisions.
  10. Multiple Twins have been a few feet short of a run/s lately; whether it is ten feet or one foot short, makes zero difference.
  11. Twins do not have time to be a AAA learning team; fan attendance magnifies that.
  12. One better than his average week does not make Jeffers look better (his bunt though, was marvelous), none of the rookies, I do not consider Arraez a rookie any more, did well enough to think Sano is not gong right back to first. Their fielding is actually worse than Sano.
  13. Twins cannot get into a rhythm because the line-up is a who's on first item.
  14. After Jeffers near perfect bunt yesterday, some know how to do it; that at-bat will forever be a bright spot in my baseball memeories.
  15. Both Schoop and Grossman are in the pits after an excellent season last year and Badoo has turned into a Sano imitation. Only Cabrera is up to par; had Cabrera played like this last year, Detroit would have done better so to me Detroit is the surprise failure this year.
  16. There was probable a lot more reason the Twins let him go than net talk even imagines.
  17. I would put Kepler in instead of Arraez; his fielding is very important. If right field become the chinese-fire-drill left and center were last night, the Twins will be fortunate to win even one-half of their games.
  18. Just my opinion, but he should go on the IL and get it fixed: I spent twenty years with a knee of decreasing useful ness; finally went to a doctor. After first visit it was better than it had been in near twenty years; now problem is gone, get it fixed.
  19. Gordon failed to steal , so I doubt he would have scored on that hit, although an out at home is more palatable than a failed steal at that point. I am surprised when Jeffers threw the ball into center field the runner did not keep going.
  20. He has said he has a strong dislike for DH and his batting (Ks last night for example) shows how not playing field affects him.

    Uggghhhh

Sad but probably true, things can change, ---- but it could be the Twins battling the Tigers for third again. ( I dread when they play the Yankees again.)
  22. And when Sano gets back he will hit .270 with 40 home runs.
  23. It seems Baldelli thinks so also and the Twins are dropping fast, while other teams put base stealers in scoring position because Jeffers/pitchers can or do nothing about it.
  24. Kepler stole 10 bases last year without being caught; Polanco 11-6: 2017 Buxton 29-1, last year 9-1: last year Gordon 10-1 The can do it, they just do not.
