  1. It's time to move on from Buxton. Too much energy is being wasted on a guy that can't even play in half the games. I like him and wish he would stay but for reasonable price. To me it just adds to the argument that the FO may be lost. There appears to be little direction or sense made of the current roster. The
  2. Here's hoping that on September 1st when the rosters can expand to 28 that we finally see some of these great pitching prospects the FO is pushing. They should have been here a while ago. The current " pitching staff" is in shambles. It's an embarrassment most of which was created by the FO.
  3. Colome' is a joke and has been all year. It's an emotional letdown when he is sent in to save the game. It is more likely he is going to blow the game. Baldelli says he's his closer. A closer and a loser what a combination!
  4. Fact is Baldelli is a poor excuse for a Major League manager. His lineups continue to be ridiculous. In game management is a joke. He embarrassed his pitchers by leaving them in way too long when they are getting hammered. Jax didn't have it. It was obvious he shouldn't have been left out there. Remember he left Shoemaker and Happ out there on their last appearances as Twins and they got hammered through 3 innings. Dordnt he owe it to the rest of the team that he is at least trying to be competitive? Why would any FA pitcher want to come here?
  5. Lots of great Buxton comments. It's too bad injuries have derailed his career. I think the Twins offered him a fair contract due to all of his injuries. He is a career .247 hitter in 7 seasons. He had a great April now people are comparing him to Trout and others and giving him superstar status. Since when does one month make him an all star? I like him, and hope they can sign him but let's be reasonable. He needs to prove it by staying on the field and vastly improving on his .247 career average!
  6. My goodness! We have a team in LAST place in the central and we cannot find a spot to see how our young prospects may help in the future. Come on, there's several DFA candidates like Cave, Simmons, Rooker and others. In my opinion The Twins have totally messed up this roster after we fell out of contention on May 1st. The FO and Baldelli don't seem to be on the same page. Service time? Twins openly delay service time to save money. Just ask Buxton.
  7. Twins are a pathetic joke. Baldelli is a Joke. Twin s front office is a joke. But who's laughing? Total embarrassment as usual against Yankees.
  8. Sometimes I just don't understand Baldelli. He should be embarrassed. How many times do we have to listen to his BS that the pitcher did well? What game was he watching? He usually lifts pitchers after 8 innings but left Barnes out there to get hammered. Remember Shoemaker, and Happ? Baldelli embarrassed them and Twins by letting them " hang out to dry " on their last day of pitching for the Twins. I've been a backer of Baldelli but not any more.
  9. Baldelli says Twins Albee's pitched great. I guess he did. Does he realize the team lost the game? They are overmatched, again, by the Yankees. Good comeback attempt. But in the majors your goal is to win, not " look good.". Maeda was apparantly given extra days rest. He doesn't do very well with all the time off. I hope it works out for him.
  10. Looks like Thorpe is done. He's had plenty of chances. Twins have been very patient with him. Too bad Colome' blew it in the 9 th. I thought he was turning it around. Yes one bad outing in last 9 isn't the end but his first half of season was horrible and this adds to it. Poor defense still plagues the team. Thankfully Polanco has been there to bail us out!! It would be great if we could beat those Yankees. They are playing great ball
  11. Very nice to see good pitching lately. Not good to see the Team not score when given opportunities. Hope they can take the series by winning on Wednesday
  12. Awesome streak. Glad they are finally showing something positive where have they been the past three months? Remember in April with a relatively full team they went 9-15. That was with Buxton player of the month. Remember also how Twins and media "experts" chastised Twins fans for being negative? Remember the cry it's still early? I think those games counted in the standings. You wouldn't have known it then the way we were told to wait. They gave us 2 weeks of good baseball.
  13. To me Cave is one of those players the Twins love. He comes cheap. But if the Twins don't plan on bringing him back then he and Simmons and Pineada are just taking up space that young players should be playing. But it probably is cheaper to deny future players playing time to hold off service time for another year. Cheap!
  14. I agree with most of the fans here. If the Twins are just counting on current 40 man roster, count on a 90-100 loss season next year. If you are counting on Twins signing quality FA pitching, count on 90-100 losses next year. If you are counting on the pitching prospects to make a big impact next season, count on a 90-100 loss season. Prospects must prove they are MLB pitchers before we get too excited. I think with some tinkering, we could be competitive next year. Starting pitching, a bullpen, and a shortstop that can hit even a little bit would help. Get Buxton back and hope he plays close to what he did in April
  15. Gotta love the recent Twins surge. Too bad you don't get a pennant for playing well for one and half weeks lol. I am curious as to why Baldelli " rested" Rooker after he went went 6 for 9 in his previous 2 games. I'm sure it added a lot of confidence to Rooker. Or the other day when he pinch hit for the Turtle after he had hit a home run. What kind of sense is that?
  16. Yes and the Twins are good at filling out the roster with cheap players with team control. That is the biggest reason our pitching is near the bottom in MLB and why we are where we are! I hope these prospects pan out and produce a winning team.
  17. Nice win for Twins. Nice to beat Sox. Lance Lynn was supposed to start but they are saving him for Thursday field of dreams game. We didn't have much offense but good pitching. I'd say well done.
  18. I don't understand Twins management of this roster. Simmons is only taking up space at this point. Release him. No reason to keep him here when you have players that need MLB experience/ devolpment/ evaluation time.
  19. Shouldn't be surprised by Baldelli pinch hitting for the turtle. He is the most unpredictable, unorthodox, unconventional " manager" in baseball. He's terrible at handling pitching management and many of his lineup and substitutions defy logic
  20. Where is roster management here? Don't Twins fans have a right to question moves and non moves? Why is Simmons still here and taking up playing time for a younger player that is actually part of the future. Why are the three "pitchers" from last night even on the roster? Why did they not put Donaldson on IL a while ago? Perfect opportunity to check out another player while he heals. He just sits, very seldom plays, and us taking up a spot. Why aren't we seeing some of these can't miss prospects we keep hearing about?
  21. That kind of performance by Baldelli should be reserved for road games only. You don't leave an obviously overmatched young pitcher out there to get hammered in two innings at home in front of paying customers. Disgraceful but predictable performance. Plus where is the roster management here? Why are Simmons cave and others still here? Why have the Twins not put Donaldson on IL and give a young player a look see. Seems to me there is very little direction here.
  22. Great article! Well written. Also some great comments here by you guys. You mention that some of the prior pitching aquisition still need to be graded out to see how they do. Correct. So before we declare the recent tradings of Cruz and Berrios steals for the Twins we need to wait, as usual with the Twins, to see if they pan out. If they are as good as the hype we will be great for years. If they turn out to be flops we will be cellar dwellers for years. Big gamble since most prospects never make it.
  23. I agree with the gentleman questioning why Simmons is taking up so much playing time. He should have been traded. I like Gordon, I think he's a serviceable MLB player. But Twins probably ruined his career. A few times they brought him up only to sit on the bench for a week and never even get an at bat. Twins have plenty of stiffs they could unload off the 40 man roster. Hello Cave. Oh and you Gordon haters Remember he was a highly touted hyped prospect that's been relegated to a bench player at best. Remember not all can't miss prospects are MLB players. Hopefully the highly touted players we got in trades fare better than Gordon
  24. I agree. Twins have totally mismanages the roster. I have nothing against Simmons for example but he needs to become a bench player or DFA. Keep sending him out there like other likely to leave veterans greatly takes away from player development. Why wasn't Donaldson put on IL several games ago. He's gotten just a handful of at bats since his last injury. Seems at least they could have taken a look at a minor league prospect during that time.
