  1. Ah, overall not just this year. I still thinking missing on Darvish was a blessing, same as Kimbrel with the contract he received. I'd rather have my front office be on things and come up short than not be interseted or hear about it, but that's just a personal opinion.
  2. Outside of Stroman, who that has been dealt have they come up short on thus far?
  3. If I am the GM I am not giving up a player on the 25 man roster to get someone in return. If someone is demanding Buxton, Sano, Garver, etc, then I look at another avenue. If that limits the teams that want to trade with me, then so be it.
  4. A lot more risk of being taken by a guy who has hit AA pitching fairly well compared to someone who had never been called up to that level yet.
  5. SP Jason Vargas to the Phillies
  6. Win today and it's 3/4 on the road against a division foe. Will take that all series, every series.
  7. The Indians are winning at a 75% clip over their last 45 games or so and if they keep up that pace they are going to win 108 games and be the #1 seed going into the playoffs. Yes, the Twins have treaded water over that same period, but give the Indians some credit, they are playing lights out baseball right now. That being said, there is a lot of baseball left this season.
  8. Without Romo it looks like a win for this team. Diaz is blocked pretty heavily on the depth chart.
  9. Point taken, but do you need to both in the same deal? The package of them is worth ALOT. You try and get a guy like Thor with one of them and other pieces and re-evaluate. If it's both or nothing, you sit back look at other options and then decide if it's worth it.
  10. I can almost guarantee that one of Gibson/Odor is brought back on a multi-year deal or a qualifying offer and Cron has another year of arby left. Where have you seen the Mets want Sano? MLTR article didn't mention him.
  11. The problem with this thinking is ace type pitchers tend to have bad games too. You can't just assume that an ace pitcher is prone to getting hit in the playoffs. If you are banking all in on riding an ace in the playoffs, you might have a bad time once you get there. Look at say...Kershaw. Probably Top 3 pitcher in the last decade...yet he hasn't had success in the playoffs. Look at Evoldi for the Sox last year, Woodruff for the Brewers, etc. An ace is a really nice luxury, but it's pretty rare that a team rides an ace thru the playoffs anymore, teams need more than that.
  12. He was fresh coming off injury in 2017 and had started 2 games since coming off the DL. I would assume that's why he was left off the roster for that game, not because the Twins feared he couldn't hit Yankee pitching.
  13. Sano just has too much upside for me to trade him at age 26. Stick to prospects. Cruz is 39, Cron has 1 year left, Schoop is gone after this year. The HR power to spare shouldn't only be for this year. Sano should be an offensive core piece with Buck, Kepler, Polanco and Rosario if they choose to extend him. Just my two cents.
  14. What kind of prospect are you going to get for a near 25 year old player who can't hit AA pitching? You aren't.
  15. Exhausted. Let's get um tomorrow boys.
  16. I said it earlier, the Yankee guys pounded everything in the strike zone when they needed to. Count didn't matter. Gotta give them some credit.
  17. This game is insane. Regardless of what happens here, insanity.
  18. It seems like anytime they did throw a strike it was hammered. Pen is bad, but man the Yankees have a damn good lineup.
