  1. Not that I know anything too much about this guy but averaging =g about a hit every in inning, a all every other and a strikeout an inning, it might be safe to say he has a control issue.. when he has to aim closer to the center of the zone bad things can happen.. maybe the coaching to increase velocity and spin will help the control. Maybe he has to spend a little of what is left on his signing bonus on outside coaching.
  2. The Reds traded Haijar for Benson. Benson has been a starting OF for them.
  3. Casey has been called back up. He has not had great success at the major league level but there are plenty of people here who would contend that is also true for Farmer
  4. Are those Pizza places serve what would better be described as **** on a shingle than pizza?
  5. Event hitter in college. He hit pretty good in the Cape Cod League. In A ball he is having adversity with his hitting. It might be his first time dealing with that. Ego can be a problem.. It looks like all he wanted to do was go home. Unfortunately he chose the wrong way to go about it.
  6. The notion that an organization that has theories on how the game should be played wouldn’t hire a like minded coach seems to escape people. The front office is loathe to ever admit they made a mistake. Baldelli is not going anywhere unless the FO is going out the door before him or friction develops because Baldelli does like what the front office does. The people who say the team is young probably should be stating that the core talent is relatively inexperienced. Semantics always end up getting in the way.
  7. If you can solve why people get plantar fasciitis and oblique strains you could make a lot of money
  8. 5 years since he has played a full season, and then not one that went into the middle of October. He wont change that this year. Tired from a grind in your 20s as an elite athlete? There is something wrong there. Add the disgruntlement over playing 2b that would be 2 strikes against him
  9. Fielding percentage does not take into account the number of plays that you don’t make but could have if the player was a better fielder. It also penalizes trying to make the hard play and failing but rewards not even trying
  10. Marcus Semien is a Boras client who got paid very well to play 2B. Position doesn’t matter. It has been 5 years since Lewis has played in over 100 games. If that trend continues that will be his biggest deterrent to the huge contract.
  11. Kepler outside of 2019 has not had sustained way above average numbers. He fits in the category of good player, not great. He was never going to get the mega contract as a corner outfielder. He will probably find a one year deal in the 10 million range. The ifs of a carryover from the last half of last year are counting on an outlier year. There are far more regressions to their mean than sustaining the outlier year in their 30s
  12. Perhaps you should look up where the players have played in the monors
  13. Your top draft picks should be doing well in the low levels. If not the scouting department needs to be looked at
  14. 5 years between college and pro level. 99 innings. I hope he invested wisely in what was left of his $ 1.8 million signing bonus. It is hard to see how he would ever build up to be a starter. As a reliever he could show up much sooner. Still it would a few years to get him to a 60 inning reliever workload
  15. The 2 highest paid position players are on the injured list. The top 100 rookie player is also there. The recent top 100 player is in a slump. The All Star player has reverted back to the player that was non tendered. What would one expect to happen? Bad management to have signe all of these players in the first place? There seeme to be a lot of happy people when these players were going well
  16. What is a medium level contract for a reliever and what are the odds that the contract works out any better than the bargain basement variety
  17. A good reliever is not a fungible asset, a mediocre one is. That is why there have been about a dozen of them cycle through the bullpen this year. It is also why Okert got as much use as he did and the team had stuck with Thielbar
  18. What good contract for a free agent starting pitcher have the Twins handed out? the preponderance of these undefined middle ground contracts for relievers, how many of them actually work out or go bust?
  19. Obviously you missed how large Pagan’s paycheck is with his free agency and how people here complained how bad of reliever he was here. . Perhaps you would want to check out the hit and miss of relievers making 2 million when the are signed as free agents
  20. What I responded to was someone saying fans should abandon owners. How do you measure abandonment.? Ratings and attendance. I am not going to look up Twins radio rating, attendance is easier to find.. I didn’t not say that spending money was the only way to be a fan. You for some unknown reason took it there, I suppose if you are indignant about something , it is your only recourse. Sorry I did not type a complete listing of every different way there was to be a fan for you to measure front running fans.
  21. Are you really a fan if you just show up when the team is leading the division. Last year with a division winning team and 2 pitchers in Cy Young contention they couldn’t draw 2 million.
  22. Perhaps people are holding off on the thumbs down because you think that plantar fasciitis is somehow related to an old ankle injury on the other leg. Just wow
  23. Yup, relief arms can come cheap. Any of them who signed for less than $10 million was hit and miss.
