  1. As his scale shows very little in terms of by trade. Lopez, Alcala, Ryan, and Woods Richardson all had a larger total than what was listed despite Farmer, Margo, Carmago, and Duran’s negative numbers
  2. So none of the lefty handed contingent, DFAd or demoted had a bad pitch, it was just bad luck. Sign them all back up with a raise
  3. They are only worth twice as much as the Twins if and only if they can capture more of the market . YES pays 143 million. SNT pays the Mets 88 million. Average ticket price fore the Yankees is $276. Average ticket price for the Mets is $28 per Statistica. Per Statistica the Mets are about $280 million behind the Yankees The Mets have a long way to go to catch up to the Yankees. It may never happen. So no, it is not absolutely
  4. The Mets are in the largest media market that cares about the Yankees. The fans do out to Yankees games. Cohen made the big spasm with a lot of big money signings. It did not bring fans to the half empty stadium. So yes the Mets are not worth 2x the Twins
  5. People have iscussions about fantasy things all of the time. This group does it a lot
  6. By unearned runs the Twins were below average. Of course the truly awful teams were closer to 100 unturned runs while the Twins were near 50. The limiting factor is range as the Twins have the worse USR150. Coaching is not going to make up for that
  7. I find it od that the writer can disparage the Twins for not spending money and disparage Vazquez in the same story. Withe the glut of horrible play by so many infielders, did it matter if they spent money?
  8. Organizational philosophy, Baldelli carried them out. He was given a right handed OF with a career track record of not being a pinch hitter.. he was given 10 different relievers that were off the scrap heap and failed. His pre arb pitchers appeared to run out of gas or not quite ready for prime time but there was no other options. It was a recipe for failure. It is a make or break year for Hassan and Stell more than Baldelli. Casey Stengel managed 8 World Series winners as well as the team that used to have the record for most losses in a season. The manager can only work with the material they have
  9. Any of these players could be traded if there was a decent return. For Topa and Kirilllof the question would be does any team other than the Twins trade for oft injured players? Kirilloff may be offered the minimum with incentives and if he doesn’t take the offer he would be released. One decent season in 4 injury filled years should not make him more than a minimum contract they traded for Topa, he is not going anywhere unless it is a great offer If somebody offers a 5-10 type for Duran they would probably trade him. I don’t know how extensive of a pst season physical they get. Checking out the UCL should be something that is done. Velocity drops are the first sign of a problem. Does the FO think that Lee and Martin showed enough that they could replace Castro? That would determine if they keep Castro. They still have to find a rh bat. Castro could be the swap
  10. What this front office would hire is another person with the same mindset. The only reason to move on from Baldelli would be problems between the position players and Baldelli.
  11. He has taken the team as far as he could with the resources he has. It probably is time to move on
  12. After 40 years of profits the Pohlads are not going anywhere
  13. The playoff money is divide by how far each team goes. To get a top of the line pitcher, a quality left hand reliever, and a rh bat OF that can pinch hit they would have probably needed more than to be a divisional round loser (about 5 million). Then there is the prospect capital. Having been fleeced twice at a trade deadline there would be difficult negotiations.
  14. The organization is very tilted towards analytics and theoretical mechanics. Expect more of the same.
  15. Everyone does not say what you claim such lengths people go is amazing
  16. That is your opinion that the Twins were near the bottom in DRS, UZR 159 and middle of the pack in OAA it is justifiable to look at FIP rather than ERA only when he pitches for the Twins.
  17. The Twins pitchers has the seventh best FIP in baseball and the coach gets a bad grade despite having 1/4 of the starting pitching innings being done by rookies and over 1/4 of the relief innings thrown by players who were at some point DFA’d. There is something wrong with this picture.
  18. Worst manager ever yet somehow has been in the top 5 for manager of the year 3 out of the six years he has managed. So who is the better judge of what is a person’s talent?
  19. This FO never wanted Molitor as the manager. They did nothing to improve the team so he couldn;t replicate his first season. Baldeli may well be gone after this year with all of the DFAs they gave him for a bullpen.
  20. Thielbar’s lefty split for the season is a .611 ops. It is not .529, but it is not bad. His last 4 games he ha not given up a run.
