    Another big name trade today. Isaac Paredes (he is a stud, and probably now the replacement for Bregman) along with their first round pick from 2024 Cam Smith (Jamie Cameron loved him pre draft) and pitcher Hayden Wisneski go to Houston. Really solid return for one year of Tucker, who is a great player in his own right.

    Maybe they can glom onto a deal (similar with Mookie going to the Dodgers where we sent Graterol and got back Maeda and Camargo) for one of the teams that are looking to do something after missing out on Soto. For example, maybe if the Cubs make a move to get Kyle Tucker, maybe we get involved as a 3rd team to get Isaac Paredes? I do think that when being creative, they should be open to lots of ideas.

    Of the options you laid out I'd prefer a short extension to Paddack. I am not trading Correa, and I'm really not certain I want to add Zebby to a couple of guys who had some value already. I guess that depends on who is coming back.

    Lots of k's, along with low walk numbers, appear worthy of a shot. He was their minor league pitcher of the year, so it's interesting they left him available. Have to see if we have something here I suppose.

    Not that I saw. But his numbers are good last year. Lot's of k's, really low walk numbers, and apparently throws a mid 90's fastball. Having him try out for the long reliever role this year isn't the worst thing. He was the Phillies minor league pitcher of the year in 2024.

    His numbers are better in 2023 than in 2024. It's possible he could be in due a bit for a bounce back no? It also wouldn't hurt in this sense to get out of the money to Paddack. I think that's the primary intent here.

    These lists are always fun. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if at least one of these players was traded even this offseason. If I put the over/under at 1.5, what would anyone guess as far as how many players JUST on this roster/list are traded before opening day 2025?

    I wouldn't be shocked if they took someone. If they took an outfielder (for example) that may just be an attempt to fill a platoon spot with a rookie instead of a Canha/Grichuk etc. Depending on the rookie, the results may be negligible.

I want to try to win with him. So don't shoot the messenger. Just sharing the link. For me to not despise the Twins for trading him, I'd imagine we would have to get at least Mayer and Teel back, and I don't see Boston wanting to do that. I'm not even certain that's a good deal, but that's what I would need to listen at minimum.

    He wasn't healthy in 2024. I was thinking more, if he were healthy, he could get back closer to his 2023 numbers. But I see where you are coming from. I wasn't at all saying I'd do Ober for Casas 1-1. I'd need another good piece or two. But if it is 2 good pieces (whatever that looks like) that's when I'd listen.

    Fair enough. I don't think it has to be Casas. I certainly think he would fit the bill (when healthy) of a middle of the order type bat that we have missed since Nelson Cruz left. His 2023 numbers are awesome, and I would hope he could get back to that type of production. So yeah, maybe this is just a thought process here. But I could see a fit somewhere between the two teams. We'll see.

    Ok, what is a LOT? I don't see Teel coming back with him. But maybe there is a lower level pitcher they like, along with maybe a good reliever who is already at the mlb level. Would Casas, a good reliever and a decent arm/prospect be enough? Would you want something else?

    I have this idea in my head, based on a few tea leaves I feel like I've seen (especially from Dan Hayes) that the Twins and Boston could match up. It's a working theory, and I feel like I'm Charlie Day with the beautiful mind gif going on at the moment, but hear me out... 1) Boston wants pitching. They've also said they would listen on Tristan Casas. 2) The Twins want to be creative to upgrade the roster. 3) Dan Hayes, even today, said the Twins may have to be open to trading one of Jax, Duran or Ober to help the roster. 4) My theory is, the Twins won't trade players coming off of injured or down years. They want players coming off of a good year, or even a career year, so that their value is at their highest. 5) Throwing out the idea of Jax going back to starting (in my opinion) isn't a throwaway. I think that COULD happen, especially if they trade someone like Ober. Basically, a move that centers around Ober for Casas (with other parts going each way, depending, but I do think more would come back from Boston than would go out for us) could help both teams in my opinion. And IF Jax can make the switch to starting, then it certainly would be cheaper to add another solid bullpen piece than it is to add another starter. Yes, I'm crazy. But this is also the type of move I could see being discussed.

    It's difficult to see a spot in the bullpen truly available to another player who wouldn't be able to be optioned, but Magdaleno is someone that seems interesting. Curious if they do take someone. Thanks for the writeup :)
