  1. So quotable, so exciting, and so generous and kind. They truly don’t make them like him. Rest in peace to one of the absolute greats
  2. I’ll only add; wouldn’t it be just as easy to say; if you are a pitcher in baseball, you would have injury concerns?
  3. Berrios is 6 years older than SWR. In Berrios’s age 23 season he threw 12 more innings at the mlb level than SWR did last year. He has been durable, and he has a fan in me. Based on only the numbers you laid out, expecting SWR to get those inning and strikeout totals isn’t really a big ask, barring health. I hope both of them have long and productive careers
  4. Both Lee and Lewis I'd attribute some of their performance to injuries. Hopefully both will have great 2025 seasons. Julien, I guess we'll see. To me he is on the outside looking in currently. If he can get back to his 2023 pace, then he has a spot at 1b/2b/dh in some capacity. But we'll see what other moves are made. So many guys on the team, on the position player side specifically, have things individually they can prove.
  5. I'd also be happy that we got our new hitting coach from them. He could totally give positive insight on what players to make a focus if we are talking trade, especially on the hitting side.
  6. It's not perfect, and definitely shouldn't be the only one used. But I grabbed it quick just to compare and show that it wasn't "terrible."
  7. I don't know for sure if the Ishbia brothers (if they are going to buy the team) won't want Falvey around. But I will say, Falvey and Zoll (side note, if Falvey and Lavine were Falvine, are we going to try out FalZoll?) are in charge right now, and they are listening on Pablo or anyone, they will have to decide on baseball decisions today right? And I'd be totally fine having them make baseball decisions instead of ones that would just be for cost cutting.
  8. Woods Richardson earned 1.8 WAR via fangraphs in 2024, getting paid the minimum. Berrios earned 1.0 WAR making 21 million. And you are saying that's terrible?
  9. I'd do the Paddack trade again, and I'd 100% do the Mahle trade again. Just because the results didn't work out doesn't mean the process wasn't fine. You have the power of hindsight saying these things. At the time of the trades people were fine with them.
  10. I think you'd have to be blown away to trade Pablo. If they do get blown away with an offer, then you listen. For people that like looking at baseball trade values, think at least double of what Pablo is valued at. That's what I mean. Not equal value, double. I don't know what he is currently, but it's a kind of deal that you would have to say sounds interesting to do it. I don't want to trade him, I don't. But it's good to listen on everyone.
  11. Royce isn't going for 2 years of a pitcher who has had injury concerns. I have been a fan of Luzardo for years, but Royce is off the table in those discussions.
  12. I’d hate to trade him. I would. I don’t see Boston trading Duran, but I would imagine they would start with Casas and Meyer. If Baltimore does offer Basallo and say another of their high end guys (Mayo?) and maybe a lottery ticket, it could get interesting. I bet new hitting coach Borgschulte would have an opinion to share.
  13. I don’t know if this should be in another thread. If so I apologize. But Max Kepler, long time Twin, is signing a 1 year deal for 10 million. Best of luck to Max
  14. I’m with this. I’ll go even one (crazy) step forward. I’d be ok with shifting Buxton to left and having Rodriguez in cf. Maybe that doesn’t happen opening day, but I can see that happening at some point
  15. The most recent Fangraphs update is from June 2024. Mlb had an update a week ago. They put him at #63 overall. Personally I do love his bat to ball skills quite a bit. Curious where he plays defensively, but I have zero doubt he is a major leaguer
  16. According to their transactions log, the Twins signed pitcher Chase Chaney. He spent last year at AA in the Angels organization. https://www.milb.com/player/chase-chaney-681116
  17. Zero chance they can get a top 60 global prospect for Castro. None. Keaschall is a lot better than you are giving him credit for
  18. As a low octane move, Lamonte Wade would add a ton of on base percentage to the lineup, and he certainly wouldn’t cost a ton in prospects. That’s just one example, but there are many. And I do think they can/should be open to trading an arm from the minors. Not multiple necessarily, but I can totally see it
  19. Yeah I’m not pushing anyone out the door so to speak. But I do think when they say they are going to be creative and look at the trade market this offseason, that means everyone is on the table other than Correa, Buxton, Lewis, Lopez, Ryan and Jenkins. Buxton and Correa for no trade clauses, Lopez and Ryan for coming off a down and an injured season, and Jenkins for being such a high octane prospect. I’d also be surprised if they traded either Ober or Jax, but not shocked, because they have traded guys in the past coming off career seasons when their value is highest (Arraez is the obvious answer there.) Everyone else should be potentially available for the right deal
  20. Possibily true. I think for me with Wallner I’m just mostly nervous of his overall K rate generally. If this season he can show he can make it work as a full time regular, that’s a good thing. This team does have a lot of talent overall, but at the same time they have a ton of guys who have really only been good for short amounts of time, not full seasons. I’d love to see some of their hitters put together a full/quality season together
  21. 100% sign me up for this deal. I love Nardi’s stuff, and when Luzardo is healthy, his stuff is amazing too. He is also Pablo’s good friend in real life, which helps.
  22. Counterpoint; if Rodriguez comes up and shows he will stick, AND Jenkins debuts this year (he has already made AA) then both Larnach and Wallner will potentially have to prove they can stay right?
