  1. Brock explained this. See post #24 in the "Slow load times" thread.
  2. Only if the robot umpires are like the one from Lost in Space. "Danger, Oswaldo Arcia! Breaking ball approaching!"
  3. It appears you could do land office-business by slapping logos on buckets of tar and bags of feathers. Maybe throw in some torches and pitchforks for the heck of it, too.
  4. And that's great, but it seems like it's the same small (10-15) group of fans every time. Season tickets? And if other members of the site express concerns, do "we" care?
  5. It would be instructive to hear John and Seth's takes on this.
  6. You can always take up playing the concertina as an alternative hobby.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised to see both Buxton and Sano here just prior to the All-Star game. I also wouldn't be shocked to see it right after. Depends on how well the organization thinks they can handle the throng of national press in town for the game. At very least they would probably be in the Futures Game again, and may stick around afterwards.
  8. Arcia must be a Christian.
  9. Peter Capaldi.
  10. Any angst I could possibly feel about this issue is trivial next to the knowledge that Ben Affleck is the new Batman.
  11. Apparently this ne'er do well was just named Manager of the Year in the FSL.
  12. You should probably change your handle to mike wants losses.
  13. I'd expect the plan for him to closely mirror Gibson's. Including a likely innings limit in 2014 following a mid-season callup.
  14. I'll buck the trend and say I'll be quite happy if Deduno, Gibson, and either Albers or Diamond are in the April rotation. Correia I'm about 50/50, and if either Worley or Hendriks steps up to seize a spot, good for them. I'd love to see one good FA signed, and then pressure from Meyer and May to promote by mid-season. I call that progress.
  15. Enough votes to become Prime Minister, of course.
  16. I wonder what TK would have said.
  17. If his arm is getting tired, it's likely affecting the movement on his pitches. With more movement, he misses more bats, wouldn't you think? I'm guessing maybe a couple more starts, and then he gets shut down.
  18. I wouldn't say solving the actual problem is insurmountable, but the timing has to be right. As for the pro-who and anti-who struggles, insignificant is a better term than insurmountable.
  19. Huzzah! Congrats to the Mauers.
  20. Was reeeaaaly hoping for Arcia.
  21. And Arcia was pulled from his game, so presumably on the way to Anaheim while Joe is away.
  22. The Phillies need a center fielder again short term; Thomas plays center field.
