  1. Ghost town in here. You'd almost think there was some major event going on this evening.
  2. Professional baseball scouts don't tell me how to do my job; I'm actually okay with returning the courtesy.
  3. Buxton or Sano? I bet a lot of teams wish they had that tough decision to make.
  4. I bet Stelly would make a heck of a color guy. Failing that, maybe Radke.
  5. And that's a fact. Irrelevant to the thread, but a fact nonetheless.
  6. I think Hicks will become one of the top CFs in the league. Just in time for Buxton to come up and move him to a corner, opposite Arcia. I pine for these days.
  7. And his presence in Web Gems is getting him some good national exposure.
  8. Diamond is pitching like Zeus's libido. (Thought I could spare the need for a new thread.)
  9. Next time he should say "He pitched like the son of Odin."
  10. They can only recall Colabello before ten days are up in an injury situation, yes? Ergo, somebody is going on the DL when they activate him.
  11. This may be a workable short term solution but I can't see it going for more than a few starts. If nothing else, the agents and player's association will object to seeing high(er) buck starters on the bread line, replaced by cheaper relievers.
  12. I concur with the previous two posts, so no I won't click on the article. If I want poor headlining the mainstream news media is always there.
  13. Compared to Calvin, the Pohlads are the dawning of the age of Aquarius.
  14. To answer the original question, yes but not until September at the earliest. As Brock suggests, the best thing to do now is not mess with him. He's showing some glimpses of figuring out the left side and if he continues to show progress there, this kid could be a solid 20/20 for years to come.
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same Carlos Gomez who would often fall over at the plate while swinging and missing so hard? Maturity at the plate seems more like it's been the answer for him. Having said that, I do think he was horribly rushed into the big league lineup with the Twins. Some more time in the minors, and maybe he develops that maturity for this organization.
  16. I swear this Brewers pitcher is a right handed version of Liriano.
  17. Just an outsider's suggestion, but you may want to consider adding a few more mods to increase the chance of heading these things off before they get overblown. Two (plus the admin) seems a little light for the volume of posts you get. Back to the Doctor Who marathon for me...
  18. I think you may be right. Especially if Gibson does well in his Friday start.
  19. It would appear the unspoken implication there is that he might not do as well once they've seen him a few times. That remains to be seen, but would be consistent with Frankie's history.
  20. Right, it's Pelfrey who has an option remaining but could refuse it based on the 5 year clause.
  21. Perhaps Richard Branson will take an interest. Then we would become the Minnesota Virgins, of course.
  22. Pretty sure he does. This sounds like a plan other than they may need to go to a 13 man staff.
