  1. I'm more confused than clarified. Rowson seems to simply contradict what Buxton stated. “Putting it on the ground more to get it out of the air." Buxton restated that intent at least a couple different ways in that paragraph."No, the goal is not to hit balls on the ground. The goal is going to be to use the whole field and hit balls hard.” Rowson said that a couple of different ways too.
  2. It's odd that I don't recall ever seeing Byron Buxton interviewed before. He's super poised in this one. Not fidgety like a lot of athletes are.
  3. Some antenna out in the middle of nowhere 40 miles from Fargo. It's a Fargo must-see, or so the guidebooks told us at the time.
  4. I am embarrassed that I thought Dozier took a step toward the runner coming in from first, and was thus the goat. The video shows he did the right thing all the way. The run's on Castro, though it looks like it should have been possible to make the play some way or another. Two mediocre arms adding up to a split second too slow?
  5. Mrs Ash and I spent pretty much our last weekend of freedom (i.e., she was about 8 months pregnant for our first child) on a spur of the moment vacation in Fargo, and we loved it. Delicious locally grown steaks on the menu, and the Red River is a lot of fun for canoeing. Very pleasant town. Plus a short drive into the prairie brought us to the tallest man-made structure in North America, or so it was claimed. I liked the place so much, I have never gone back!
  6. Reno had an independent-league team called the Chukars (pronounced chucker) between their single-A Silver Sox and AAA Aces eras. The team mascot had a Chief-worthy groaner of a name: Chubby Chukar.
  7. Considering that 40th-rounder Austin Bizzle has appeared in his first game, it seems to me that the chart could be updated to reflect his being signed rather than just agreed. I think we might all be curious to see what the final chart of signings looks like.
  8. Hey! That's my Adopt-A-Prospect. Don't be makin' fun of his name, now.
  9. None of these is probable but rain seems the likeliest among the choices listed.
  10. I predict a different outcome tomorrow.
  11. If Rosario is receptive to subtle signals from his manager, perhaps he will notice that batting behind Gimenez isn't exactly a compliment.
  12. Ugh, the TIBN feed is running a batter behind the game. At least Gameday is keeping up, but that calls for constantly hitting refresh. / First World Problems.
  13. "Stay thirsty, my friends, but don't eat the yellow snow."
  14. I thought it was "that's what SHE said".
  15. On public forums/social media, it's not really correct grammar unless you complete the sentence: your a idot.
  16. We'll try to be more circumspect here. / I suddenly wonder if a mohel has to answer to a circumspector.
  17. Houw dou you decide when tou inflict a silent 'u' and when nout tou? The wourd 'color' has twou 'o's and you put graffiti oun ounly oune of them.
  18. Einstein was supposed to be all smart and stuff, but he got I-before-E wrong, twice and in the same word.
  19. Catchy, but my money is on "Hildy" being what sticks.
  20. Often I read the post before I look at the author. In this case, I could guess correctly.
  21. Dear Mr Mauer, Thank you very much. Sincerely, Jorge Polanco, SS
  22. The status of Mejia's no-hitter should be secure by now.
