  1. BAILEY OBER!!!! Lets Go! Nothing against Joe, he ias really good. This is pure playoffs, pure statistics. Ryan struggled in Hou earlier in the year. He is quite the weapon though to throw out in Game 4 at Target Field. Joe Ryan is the kind of guy who would understand that stats of this call. He also is the kind of guy who can use it as fuel.
  2. I am pretty sure Ryan has a legit chance to win ROY, if he continues to pitch at this high level.
  3. Those are some legendary pitching matchups this week. Verlander V Ryan, Bieber V Gray. Sign me up for some of that!!!
  4. Well, that solves that problem. Now SD has a DH, and honestly, I think he will turn into a good one. Good on him. Hopefully Wes Johnson can work his magic on Paddack
  5. From MLB Trade Rumors Site: "The Twins and Padres are in agreement on a trade that will send left-handed reliever Taylor Rogers to San Diego and starter Chris Paddack to Minnesota, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports (Twitter thread). The two parties were reportedly in talks on a deal last night. Other players were apparently involved in those talks, but the final iteration of this morning’s trade is not yet clear. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic tweets that the Twins will also acquire right-hander Emilio Pagan as part of the swap." My initial reaction was S***! I really liked Rogers. I guess they have a lot of faith in Duran and Alcala.
  6. Buck has a chance to make a push at Cooperstown if he can stay healthy during this contract.
  7. I am "Excited". I am an optimist and easily excited. However, I think this will be a fun year. The lineup and defense will be a genuine pleasure to watch. I am very excited to see Buck and Correa in the same lineup, feeding off each other. I am excited to see how our young pitchers develop. We have a good enough lineup to keep the team competitive if not downright great, so the pressure is off for the young arms (both on the team now and in the system) to develop and get experience. Should be a fun year and one to be excited about! Go Twins!!!
  8. Rooker should make the roster so we can show his value as a DH for a trade with an NL team in need of one.
  9. The elite pitchers are the ones who not only have the raw stuff, but who also know the art of pitching. There are some without the raw stuff, who can be good/great due to knowing how to pitch. Then there can be some with tons of raw stuff who never become more than throwers. I would say, with talent like this, lets give him all the time he needs to really learn the art. Also, take it easy on his arm. I would hate to have him arrive early, be great, then burn out. Hopefully he can stay humble and avoid shenanigans of the field.
  10. I like that Weaver guy. He has a ton of movement. Not sure we can afford the injury risk though
  11. Donaldson and Greinke in the same clubhouse could be a big problem.
  12. How can they be so blatantly communist with their excommunicating of the best reporter in baseball. What are they trying to hide? It can't be their dislike of baseball, thats already too obvious.
  13. Depends how he and we are doing at the half. Perhaps trade him then, or pick up the option. I think he would make a good DH, if he plays at his best. I think he plays at his best when the rest of the offense around him is playing well. Then he compliments. But if he has to carry, he can go into a slump.
  14. Joe was my hero growing up too. We even share a first name! I remember when he debuted. Growing up in St. Paul, I heard many legends about Joe, particularly from my 5th grade teacher, who taught Joe in grade school. He really was the hometown hero. One of the nicest pro athletes out there. Never let the money or the fame get to his head. Rather he stuck to his core values, even through all the injuries and poor team seasons. A lock for Cooperstown for sure!
  15. First We get the Axe back, now Buck Signs! What an incredible couple days. Cue Handel's Messiah! HALLELUJIA!!!!
  16. I am bummed about Ian Hamilton tbh. I think he is going to get poached for sure
  17. You all are forgetting our biggest asset at catcher (and everywhere)... La Tortuga!!! ...
  18. Can we sign him please?!? Pitch to contact is a good strategy to combat the home run happy hitting style. Plus we need at least one starter to can shew innings and give our bullpen a break. I also like him as a mentor for our glut of young pitching prospects.
  19. I think it makes a lot of sense for him to return. I think he can be a mentor to those 2 aforementioned prospects. (defensively at least). I think the fact the Twins were struggling so much as a whole may have been a part of the reason for his poor season. We shall see.
  20. I am happy for him. He is the kind of player who lives for the clutch.
  21. Trading Buxton would be one of the worst decisions this team could make. We need to pay him what he wants. At some point he will stop getting hurt. I honestly believe that he does not want to move.
