  1. Can we not mathematically be the top seed in AL? If Tampa loses out and we win out?
  2. So would the Twins. We have had a lot of injuries at key times too!
  3. Never EVER trade or do anything whatsoever with the Yankees
  4. I would have put Thielbar higher. He is a veteran, even though he doesn't have many seasons in the Majors. I like Alcala, but only when we are behind. He keeps it close, while the pressure is off the other team to score runs. Maybe switch the 2 of them.
  5. Gardy was the guy at the helm for me when I was growing up and becoming the Twins fan I am now, after all those playoff appearances. I was sad to watch him leave, and I wish him the best in this next stage of his life. One of my Gardy memories is going to the Twins Vs. Tigers game, the first time he returned to Target Field, as the manager of the Tigers. I know at least I was standing and cheering when the PA announced his name!
  6. You are so right. I would carve the statue myself out of granite if no one else offered.
  7. I am excited about the prospect of a starting rotation with plenty of playoff experience. I think the question of who our "closer" is is irrelevant, so long as we continue to use our best reliever in the highest leverage situation, whether that is the 7th, 8th, or 9th. And I think that reliever is Duffey at this point.
  8. I figured something like this was coming. But thats how sportsfaning works. Something does seem to be up, but then again, he was on with tie game against the leagues best offense.
  9. So, here is a question sure to make for some interesting discussion. If the O's can't do it against the yanks, do we start rooting for Houston? My gut says my hatred for the Yanks trumps my dislike of the cheating scandal. But whats the consensus, if there is one?
  10. With regards to our upcoming series with Cleveland, I think Nikita Khrushchev said it best " We will bury you!"
  11. I am now officially an Orioles fan. Boo Yankees!
  12. I would say he is essential to our future success. If not the top, he needs to be near the top for our offseason signing process.
  13. Beautiful, beautiful!
  14. "Rooked on a Feeling The sky is blue, the grass is green, Brent Rooker is very strong….and Dick Bremer can see into the future. Bremer used his crystal ball in the 2nd inning to predict Rooker’s first MLB home run, which he piped to the left field bullpen off a 2-2 Daniel Ponce de Leon fastball to put the Twins up 2-0." Uh... So Did Cory Provis on Twins Radio. Must have been in the media guide, lol.
  15. Bro, I don't know what you were drinking, but I would never pass an opportunity to play the (stinky) White Sox in the playoffs. They ALWAYS find a way to beat themselves, as long as their opposition hangs around.
  16. I think the twins should replace the center field wall with about 2 feet of memory foam. I think that would do it nicely. And I am very serious with this idea.
  17. How can you go against the Twins in the World Series? What kind of a fan are you...
  18. I wonder what the player response is to hearing of the millions of workers who cannot "opt out" of their work because they can't afford not to. Obviously I understand people's freedom and the virus is a scary thing. But the average working American could really use the moral boost that baseball provides.
  19. I have no thoughts other than pure joy that there is in fact a schedule!
  20. You forgot Chacin!
  21. I really hope that Universal DH is not adopted past this season
  22. Am I the only one who drooled when reading this lineup? What a team we have!
  23. I am really upset with the owners tbh. The obviosuly don't have baseball, or the citizens of America at the forefront of their minds, only their own pocket books. Its just a shame that they are the ones who get to make the descisions. I am very dissapointed that they apparently won't make a counter offer. I suspect that they really don't want to play a season. I still hold out hope for something to happen this year. But I have to say I am siding with the players.
