    Nice to see Sims got his confidence back since returning from AAA, to end the hot MIA winning streak. Hats off to Bader, Castro & the BP. Good pitching, good defense & clutch hitting = WINS. Keep up the good work, Go Twins!

    I'm all for giving Raya a chance if he was tearing up AAA, but IMO, he hasn't. We need long relief, period, especially if Raya comes up maybe 2 long RPs.

    IMO, the best thing that they could have done was to put Ober on the IL right away before Lopez went down so the sore hip wouldn't get worse, sooner he'd be back & sooner they could sort through what to do. The rotation was thin when Lopez went down & was starting to unravel. I advocated to pick up an inning eater & set up long relief, back when Ober was sick & complaining about his hip. IMO, we don't have anyone in the system to step up & help us try to look competitive. It has been about a month since Lopez has been down & nothing has been done. I suggested our good friend Kyle Gibson. He's ready to go now.

    Ok, you are right, I'm wrong. Ronny Henriquez & Jorge Alcala are pitching terribly, good thing we got rid of them & the players we got are wonderful. Who's nitpicking? OK, I double-counted on Henriquez's last save, so he only has 4. Does that make him a bad pitcher? Alcala got an earned run since I last checked, a little over a day ago. which BOS still won the game. So his ERA with BOS is no longer 0.00 but now is ?. Big deal! Does that make Alcala a bad pitcher? A BOS podcast I listened to, said they were high on Moran & said he was doing well at AAA. Because that didn't agree with your philosophy, Does that make me a liar? You are again nitpicking to detract from the fact that we gave up 3 good pitchers & got nobody in return. And that they mismanaged Alcala by continually sending Alcala out for a 2nd inning & on consecutive days after returning from the IL. BOS hasn't done that & Alcala is pitching well because of that. How Alcala wasn't pitching well in those situations with MN is not the point.

    I've always liked Cardenas's defense. IMO, he has leaped-frogged into the #3 catcher. But is he MLB-ready? IMO, no. Will he be our backup catcher next year? I hope not. Can Jeffers become our primary catcher next year? He has proven he can't. So many questions with no answers at catching.

    Twins picked the wrong time to play the hot young MIA team. Not long ago MIA was willing to almost give away E Cabrera. Cabrera has always had great stuff, but had command problems. He finally got his act together. Alcantra is starting to come around, too. Ryan had his usual top stuff also but again MN offense was flat. With recently unpopular Lewis having the only hit for most of the game. Interesting that Ronny Henriquez has pitched well for MIA with 5 saves in high leverage. While in BOS, Alcala that has pitched 4 innings in 5 games (not pitching multiple innings or on consecutive days) has yet to give up a run. & BOS is very high on Jovani Moran, doing very well in AAA. All Twins have given up on with nobody really in return.

    You can be a good INFer & not be fast if you have good instincts, reflexes & hands, Lee fits that mold. To be a MLBer isn't easy; you need character, talent & a ton of regular ABs. Lee has the talent (defensively & offensively), he has the character to keep fighting & he was fortunate to be given regular ABs these past 2 yrs even when he stunk offensively. If he played sporadically & not allowed to bat 4xs a game to adjust, he'd still stink. Anyone who has played serious ball should know. One of the toughest things in sports is to hit a baseball, especially at the MLB level.

    Many think MIA is a pushover over but they have won 7 in a row, are 8-1 last 9. Won their last 3 series, swept SF & AZ. They won their series with ATL which we lost. They shouldn't be a pushover. Go Twins!

    If we didn't have to face Skubal or if the BP was depleted, we could have come back & won that game. I don't consider it as a massacre. But the only reason we were on Sunday-nite baseball for the 1st time for a very long time was that Skubal was pitching & we weren't embarrassed was a plus for me.

    Thanks Cody for bringing light on this cancer. Mitch Garver too, had death threats. Violent language is on the rise & is condoned. Contrary to many opinions, baseball players are people with emotions & vulnerable like everybody else. This violent language is never appropriate & we need to stand against this stupidity which tears down our society wherever we find it.

    The traditional lead-off hitting approach is still the best. & that's getting on base, taking the extra base & sparking rallies. Buck has to steal on early counts because too many Twins' hitters like to swing early & not allow Buck to steal that needed base before.

    IMO. Twins need to cash in & change their identity. The big college bat who hits HRs when you don't need them, SO when you need a hit, not athletic or defensive. They say they want to be more aggressive on the basepaths & have more situational hitters, then they need to draft players who can do that.

    I think most know I'm a big catcher-drafter fan. Irish is the top catcher prospect but I'm not a big fan of his because, like many top catching prospects, they are hyped up because of their big bats & probably won't stick at catcher which gives them their premium ranking. If he's available to us at 1st round, I wouldn't pick him. My choice at 1st round compensation is either Bodine or Stevenson, who can hit & can stick at catcher. I'm fine with Bremner or Steele Hall 1st round. My sleeper is Brady Neil. I've been high on him since he was a prep prospect & later he caught Skenes, his true freshman year for CWS champion LSU under Wes Johnson. In a mock draft, he was ranked at 306. IMO he has a lot of potential.

    Correa has lost some range, but he has great feel for the position & baseball smarts to spearhead great plays. I think the biggest problem here isn't Correa, IMO, it's the Twins' shortsightedness & lack of importance they put on defense. Lee is a good temporary fix at SS but not permanent & Correa is still our best option but how about tomorrow? One day Correa will be more of a liability than an asset if it's literally tomorrow who will be our top tier SS? I want my CF, SS & C to hit but my priority is for them to be top tier with the glove. HOU let Correa go, because they figured they had someone to substituted him. They were able to do that because they had vision & a plan for the future. Twins' priority isn't defense, it's bats. If their bat plays a position to heck with their glove even if it's a liability. Twins have to start developing & drafting players more defensively minded especially at C, SS, CF & 2B.

    I really like these 3 Twins & IMO, all of them should be in the HoF. I have to admit that I'm not up on SPs & closers of the past 25 yrs. so I'm prejudiced for our guys, Santana & Nathan IMO, should be on that list. Although Mauer got on the 1st round ballot HoF by raking at catcher. IMO, at catcher, it's more about defense & the many intangibles that are connected with catching than offense bias WAR. STL was dominant while Molina was catching & was irrelevant after he left. SF had some good years with Posey, but MN wasn't able to do anything with Mauer. I'd also look at how many years they were in that prime position. Looking at these factors, I'd rank them Molina, Posey & Mauer. Mauer should have gotten some recognition, though.

    I have texted from the beginning that our rotation is fragile. I'm not in the camp of keep overextending & playing our hurt players no matter what. For our SPs & RPs that means injury & many non-quality innings. I advocated limited innings by incorporating a rotating long RPs & spot SP roles. Ober had a sore hip early, was sick as a dog his 1st outing & compounded by death threats, yet he hasn't missed a turn. IMO, he should have been put on the IL to begin the season until his hip & mechanics are good. Lopez has been our strongest SP & he has become our 1st casualty. As soon as Lopez went down, we should have immediately filled that void with an outside-inning-eating SP while maintaining the routine I suggested, so we can put Ober on the IL & try to keep our other pitchers healthy & pitching quality innings.

    I was afraid that we'd be embarrassed. But fortunately, it was just a boring game except for Skubal, which most people tuned in for. We had a chance after Skubal but DET wanted to win the game & their BP upheld the win.

    Twins have some players they protect & others they abuse. Ober was sicker than a dog but yet he pitched, his life has been threatened, & has had a sore hip since the beginning of the season yet he's still pitching. How can he pitch under these condition?

    I was totally against trading Alcala & the way they managed him since he came off the IL. He has pitched 4 scoreless innings for BOS. Good for him, bad for the Twins.

    Thanks DJL for your on field report. Was pretty much what I expected but always nice to get confirmation. Crazy that Martin didn't play, Martin news are hard to come by. Ohl doesn't look impressive but he gets the job done.

    I didn't see it, but IMO, in this case, it didn't matter. What I saw, Castro stole 2B, advanced to 3B, then scored.

    Buxton's production wasn't surprising. I was expecting him to be healthy, which equates great performance. Correa usually starts slow, but his extra-slow start makes me think he's playing hurt. For the last 2 seasons, Julien has been a liability both on defense & offense, so it's surprising to me that the Twins kept sticking with him. Miranda's disappointment is expected in how they are managing him. Many thought that the Twins' rotation was strong, but they are fragile. Making up with 3 young arms (Festa with fatigue arm early), Paddack bad arm history, Ober with a sore hip early, & Ryan was hurt last year. Our strongest SP (Lopez) has been our 1st casualty, followed by Matthews. I advocated from the beginning to limit the rotation's innings by having a rotating long relief/ spot starting role from SWR, Festa & Matthews to take the burden off the rotation & BP. They needed to put Ober on the IL from the beginning to fix his hip instead of him limping through. When Lopez went down, they should have picked up a veteran inning-eater SP to compensate for their huge void.

    I loved Julien playing at 1B (there's hope now that he might make it back to MLB), Martin at 2B (that's where one of our greatest needs is), & Eeles showed his flexibility at CF. C Lewis had a good game, a great game that the BP made look close.
