  1. Getting fewer chairs in the game of musical chairs. Hope Twins make a move soon.
  2. Cruz retire or only put another 10-12 million in pocket next year. Would not be difficult decision for me, I will have hard time feeling sorry for Cruz if only gets 10M.
  3. Twins would have never offered a record breaking contract to a reliever. Still some good options left at reasonable contracts. The sky is not falling yet, but White Sox have definitely made some significant moves to improve.
  4. Spotrac has Cleveland 2021 payroll at 23 million at this time. Will be interesting what they do next.
  5. Looking forward to prospect report, there has been quite a bit of attrition and changes.
  6. Like closer by committee, matchups, who's pitching well, don't think Twins need to designate a traditional closer.
  7. I would like to see Twins sign Cruz, Simmons at SS, another potential high leverage reliever, Hand, and a middle of rotation starting pitcher. Castillo would be great, if price not too high, he would be my choice.
  8. Don't think Twins fans would have been happy at that price-any of the 3 scenarios mentioned by Eris. Rays are selling high and getting plenty of potential return.
  9. Looks like Twins may have 5 RH starting pitchers, would be good to have plenty of LH in bullpen. Bring on Hand, with Rogers, Theilbar, and possibly Smeltzer, Thorpe, or Waddell.
  10. I thought it would be interesting to start discussion on Twins pitching prospects. Twins only had one pitcher make MLB debut in 2020, Colina. I made a top 10 list of pitchers most likely to make MLB debut for Twins in 2021. 1) Duran, on 40 man roster, top pitching prospect, easy choice. 2) Chalmers, on 40 man roster for second year. See Chalmers as wild card with no MiLB last year, ranked here mostly because he is on roster. 3) Ober-recent 40 man addition. probably not huge upside but could see callup for spot start. 4) Balazovic on 40 man and top prospect. See Twins wanting Balazovic to get plenty of innings at AA and AAA this year, maybe late season call up. That's last of pitchers on roster, 5) Jax mosy likely with would have made debut last year with normal season. 6) Hackimer every bullpen needs a sidewinder. 7) Barnes has AAA experience and LHP. 8)Sammons it is time for him to at least get a chance. 9) Cano a sleeper pick, 10) Bray sentimental pick, looking forward to Seth's interview tonight. I did have Wells on list before rule 5 draft. Next five probably a year away- Canterino, Enlow, Sands, Winder, and Vallimont.
  11. Makes sense trying to limit travel. Set up 3 leagues, east, central, and west at AAA and play like MLB did this year.
  12. Probably buying high with Kiki since coming off being part of WS win. Would consider other options, don't think Lewis is ready.
  13. I think Wisler and agent just wanted more money than slotted to get. Not sure arbitration works-club offer, player offer and arbitrator decides? Don't know why Twins would release Wisler if could have had arbitration decide, unless afraid arbitrator would give too much. Ace brings up a good point, how to give credit for alternate site play last year. People say some of these prospects don't have enough AA or AAA at bats. But, at alternate site were hitting against AAA and AA pitchers last year. No stats available to fans, but sure Twins kept stats in some manner.
  14. Hard to see this as anything but a win-win for both Twins and Saints.
  15. Where are some of the Twins prospects in development, Celestino is on the 40 man roster. Is he an option at CF if Buxton gets hurt. I am ready to move on from Cave/Wade. Lets see Kirilloff, Rooker, Larnach, and Celestino. SS is further behind in development, Lewis may be a year away. I like Simmons at SS, then go within organization for other players. Pitching, sign midlevel FA to compete for 4th spot, and maybe a veteran FA like Chacin from last year for depth. Also feel need to sign FA relief pitcher that could help in high leverage situations and maybe a cheap veteran FA for depth. I feel Twins have a lot of quality pitching prospects on verge of MLB, but can't have too much pitching.
  16. My blueprint might be called a youth movement. I like adding Simmons at SS, a FA pitcher like Richards around 5M, Hand at RP, resign Rogers. Then fill in with youth like: Kirilloff, Rooker, Blankenhorn, Waddell, Dobnak, Colina, or 1-2M FAs. Twins have so many players on the verge of MLB can't see investing a lot of money into FAs.
  17. Enjoyed interview, Seth. Twins look like they have quality prospects on the verge of MLB. I really like Rooker, average defense but plus hitter. Like to hear comments on how much interaction players had with Twins coaches, Rooker said he thought he really progressed during that time even though not playing games.
  18. Matt Wallner commented on Seth's interview on how much it was an adjustment playing everyday, compared to college. Being able to get in the right mind set each game. MLB is a grind. Yogi Berra said "Half the game is 90% mental".
  19. Thanks Seth, great to hear from a lifelong Twins fan, hope Matt continues to develop and progress up the Twins system. Sounds like players had great communication with Twins staff when working on their own.
  20. FA SP market tightening, Twins may need to make a trade to upgrade SP from excess of OFs.
  21. Would be a big improvement for Twins. GCL and low A in Florida, high A Cedar Rapids, AA at Wichita, and AAA St Paul. Are there a direct flights from Wichita to Minneapolis?
  22. I don't have any inside information, but could see at least AAA moving geographically closer to parent teams. Then playing games in 3 divisions/leagues-east, central, and west. Similar to what MLB did last year. Big changes coming to MiLB.
  23. Hiring LaRussa was always a train wreck waiting to happen.
  24. Not a fan of signing aging, declining players, If Twins go bargain, maybe just go internal and see what Gordon and Blankenhorn can do until Lewis and/or others are ready. I can see signing one FA and using one internal option for 2 utility infield spots.
  25. Cody is an exciting prospect. Hope he continues to improve and impress. Kind of an underdog, coming from a rural area, low profile college. Like his attitude to attack the batter.
