  1. For those who remembered their Apple TV+ login from three weeks ago when they paid for, and immediately cancelled their subscription just to watch Cleveland dance all over the Twins, your reward was this: a clash of Central squads hovering around .500. Fine. Who wanted to watch this stoopid game anyway? Nevermind that I pay MLB a subscription fee that is supposed to allow viewing of _all_ games. Why does the league think that fans will feel good about these kind of arrangements? Guess I'll go out back and chop some firewood.
  2. Silver lining - Four months of the season left and we don't play the Yankees again.🥸
  3. Sears and Roebuck material.
  4. Boy, this sounds desperate. Kyle Garlick has an .804 OPS. At Reno.
  5. I went looking for a bright side and turned up a rock - the Twins record to date this year is one game _worse_ than where they were after 46 games last year.
  6. It appears to have taken 44 innings of watching the Yankees and the Guards slap hits around the yard for the Twins lineup to realize that they could take more than one approach at the plate depending on circumstances. Let's hope that 6-hit, 4-run ninth sticks in their minds.
  7. OK... Three different pitchers each give up an earned run. Why is one pitcher at greater fault than the others?
  8. So this club gets four hits and scores two whole runs, but Okert is the goat?
  9. Why is it that against this particular club that so many players on the Twins roster revert to a Little League level of play?
  10. In the same way Julien picked up his defense at second base, those two fellows need to learn their outfield positions.
  11. I am once again puffing out my chest with pride when I wear my official 2019 season Kasota gold-trimmed navy Max Kepler (26) jersey. Let's enjoy the ride while it lasts.
  12. Damn, already used up my Sand Pebbles meme. There are worse teams to give one away to than that Blue Jays lineup. See you tomorrow.
  13. That's what we have Jeffers for. Never would have imagined when he first came up in 2020 that he would mature into this monster at the plate.
  14. His offense is still under his career numbers, but he is contributing on both sides of the ball. Paired with Jeffers, the Twins are as strong at the 2 spot as any other ball club.
  15. The Wild didn't make the playoffs, and them which Dallas stole from us are still in it. Plus, the ultimate sign the gods still disapprove - no Super Bowl for the Vi-Queens. Is that Debbie Downer enuf fer ya?
  16. Thanks for the comment. No doubt the stats and analysis can be interesting, and an article cast that way would draw attention from readers with an interest in the topic or the player. However, statistics alone are not enough to support an article titled, "Should we be worried about ...?" If we're going to dive into what appears to be recent poor performance by a player, what may be behind it, and what it means for a player's future, an article needs to draw on more sources. These could include comments from the player, others close to the player, or those with a qualified opinion, on-field examples of how the player's performance has (not) changed, or comparisons of strengths and weaknesses with similar players. An article focused solely on statistics (especially this early!) with nothing else to support it is too thin to wear that headline. Speculation? No time for that. Get enough facts to at least develop probable theories if not a single conclusion. Otherwise, don't waste everyone's time.
  17. Can we not have any more of these kinds of articles, please? Stats alone are not enough to tell what may (or may not) be going on. If something is really wrong, we will know soon. In the meantime, we all have better things to do than speculate.
  18. Steve McQueen has the summary for this game: I was home! Still, we should forgive a bullpen that has performed well thus far, and not be too hard on a rookie misplay in the outfield. Saucedo's knee hyperextension is perhaps the most sickening injury to watch since Josh Naylor's right field collision a few years back. Hope it's not too serious.
  19. A totally tubular win! This year's contributions from Larnach and Miranda are truly unexpected surprises. I had thought their careers would be leading them elsewhere, but both looking much improved thus far.
