Cough....ahhh....never again! Sorry to break it to ya! .500 is what the ownership shoots for and the "experience" of the Twins stadium, which will cost you "a lot" to go with a few friends, especially out staters! Hard pass!

This is like a phart in a warm church with no a.c.! Hardly a vote if any confidence or excitement for fans, which will be much less in attendance this year. I would rather go with young, untested "studs". This doesn't let the owners or front office off-the-hook for lack of spending, but certainly more entertaining squad, albeit still with a losing record, than old retreads or ones off the T. John surgery list! Period! Again, I will not be going to any games, now or in foreseeable future!

All hyperbole, nothing less, very vanilla, uninspiring, etc. Any reason for a large season ticket renewal, let alone new ones? Not! I see attendance around 1.3 million, which is down significantly; revenues will fall hand-in-hand as a result, hence a perpetual malaise and downward spiral! Sorry! You get mediocrity if you push mediocrity!

Derek seems like a nice guy, heck, there are a lot of "nice guys" on the Twins, but will they win you games. Falvey and Twins ownership playing this "small/mid market" spending makes me say "no thanks" to going to any games, especially with all the costs of going involved! Yes, atmosphere is great, but Minnesota has a lot of other things you can do in summer, which cost much less and/or are FREE! No thanks!!!!!

No! Correa may have had star power, but Greg Gagne has got the hardware (World Series rings), let alone decent offensive and defensive stats.

Outside Luke and Buck, no one excited me. Martin has potential to be ultra utility man...not bad! Relief staff is not good, none would be missed if left unprotected and/or traded. Outside top two Twins starters, everyone else can be had, including Ober...his arm is shot ..topped out at 89 mph with fastball last handful of starts, which gets destroyed in MLB.

Arbitrary Thoughts: Bailey Ober
Dawgzilla replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think his arm is shot...he was a averaging like 89 mph on his fast at end of season, that doesn't project well for next year.- 28 replies

Twins have already attained that status late in the year with dwindling and lethargic attendance. It will be hard to reignite any enthusiasm going into next season. As in the movie Taken, with Liam Neesome quote .."good luck"!!!!!

Team scouting has been a problem, with few big hits. Then, if you do have a scouting hit, it takes until they are 25 years old+ to get to the majors, almost enough to qualify for social security😉! Touche'! MLB has to have a salary cap floor and ceiling, or penalize the big spending teams more for going over the cap. Lastly, if you never want your team to be at least competitive, every year, sell!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, one final point: people have better things to do with their hard earned money, especially when professional sports are already waaayyy expensive to attend (food, tickets, parking, merchandise, etc.), this also goes for expensive local or out of town tv rights, which most can't afford subscriptions to now!!!?

Who cares!!! If the ownership/front office doesn't care, we the fans have better things to do with our money, especially in a high inflation cost society. Players, owners, retailers/concessions in sports cost/make to much anyway. Waaaayyy to expensive. Then you have the payroll disparity between the clubs and larger market cities!!!!!!!!!! Gosh, which teams have best chance to make playoffs....every year, with an exception here and there?!!!! Lastly, there looks like a player lockout next year, meaning more disgruntled fans!!!! MLB is destroying itself from the inside out! Oh, one final thing: you need multiple tv/cable/streaming pkgs just to watch a garbage team. Laaaattteeerrr!!!
-
No one cares really, that is how bad team is, their projections and affection for ownership! Twins can't even run bases right...Martin and Wallner both thrown out, Martin in a stupid non tag...or make sure ball hits ground first, not his only recent base running adventure. Is this Knothole...and do they actually need to learn to bunt, steal, tag, throw to the cut off man, etc ., lat alone not grove pitches to hitters. Good Lord! No one will get the ESPN+ streaming option next year to watch this dog and pony show! Lastly, Mickey Mouse, aka, Mickey Gasper should even warm the bench; he can't hit his way out of a paper bag.

You have to pay me to go to a Twins game right now, including money to get to cities, my overnight hotel cost, parking and all the beer 🍻 I can drink. If I was a Twins season ticket holder, I would want, er demand, at least a partial refund. Twins today are presently getting destroyed 6-buff, and it is only the second inning! Watching a good game on MLB right now. When is that start of the T-Pups season, let alone Wild's?!!!!
-
If the pitchers they got in trades were that good, wouldn't they already be on the big club?! Duh! Projections also sometimes don't meet the facts or results. Almost always, you will know when you have someone legit, not always, but mostly! Twins wait forever to bring up their prospect "studs" too (using that term loosely). Lastly, if you don't want to make a commitment to winning for longstanding, Twins fans, then sell the team! So, your family only make a 700+ million profit (after debt and original purchase price)....sell. Oh, lastly, lastly.......MLB needs a salary cap ceiling and floor regardless if Bryce Harper's bemoaning and crying....over his MILLIONS...playing a kid's game!!!!!!!!!

Ope, Didn't Mean to Let You Have Hope
Dawgzilla replied to Chris Hanel's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
You thought attendance was bad...just wait. Remember the A's last year in the Colesium? That is this team and next year's. Season ticket holders should ask for their money back, let alone not renew. The MLB commissioner should have halted the assault on the Twins roster yesterday. Now, especially now, there are the big money teams. ...and the the rest, meaning no chance. Good luck with that! By the way Harper can f off. MLB needs a cap floor and ceiling. Period! -
Red Sox 13, Twins 1: Is This Selling?
Dawgzilla replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
A couple of things: You don't give up young stud players you still have under cost control for a number of years. Try being aggressive more on bases (Twins are always base to base...steal for crying out loud...make other team make mistakes). Bring studs up earlier rather when they reach social security age (either they are players by 24 or they are not). Sell team soon. Fire g.m. Next year, don't sign pitchers coming if T.J. surgery or bottom feeder position players late in off season (outside Bader this year). Reduce ticket/concession prices to lure families back...creating a bigger and newer fan base. Make t.v. more available to more, at a reasonable price. You are welcome!!!- 60 replies

Sad state of affairs!!! MLB needs a salary cap (floor and top end)....and Harper can eat it. Baseball isn't fair to over half the clubs right now!

Correa, although a great teammate, hadn't lived up to his salary. Also, Twins go cheap in fre agency bin. Bader has been decent. Lastly, Twins bring up their prospects by the time they qualify for social security; if they haven't figured out they are good enough by 23...seek new scouts.

Trade either Jax or Duran....and don't get screwed...get 2 legit, high end prospects ..minimum. See if Correa would also drop his ni-trade claus ang get a few more high-end prospects. Wallner has to go down and Keashall is now a mainstay. The other rookie (can't name him...outfielder...can't hit ..period). If Ryan is traded to Red Sox, get more than just Duran (who I like a lot)...also need a very high-end prospects in deal. Now, in summation, Twins will have a new ownership next year, let alone can fill squad with better free agents in positions if need (predicted higher budget), and not borderline players, let alone starting pitchers coming if TJ surgeries!!!!!!!!!!

Twins 5, Angels 0: It's So Not Joever
Dawgzilla replied to Hans Birkeland's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
That IS pitching. That was fun to watch (Ryan)! I was a pitcher and was real happy the way Ryan pitched. He used his amazing slider perfectly, and spotted his fastball (at his locations), kept defense in game (low pitch counts), etc.! Twins offense still struggled, but Ryan's game kept me watching! His stats this year are All-Star; he will probably be only Twin making that game.- 30 replies
