  1. Oh, one last post: How in the h.e. double toothpick aren't the players physically ready for opening day, with over a month to prepare. This also goes for NFL football players, when they say "it is early in the season, they are getting their legs, they are knocking the rust off", etc.?!!!! Whatever!!! They have time......and are PROs!!!!!!
  2. Team has no "it", meaning no fire/zest/reason for excitement. Correa and Buxton will be hurt sometimes, if not season ending injury. There are zero "superstars" on team. Yes, Buck and Carlos are good, but not for how much they are on the field, let alone salary wise. Nice guys, yes, but those don't put the team over the hump. Also, Twins ownership doesn't seem to want a championship. They get new stadium, but never go after a real stud, or two, to actually win in the playoffs. Then, they blame attendance, or lessor of it, for reason for belt tightening. Lastly, the t.v. rights torked many off! How can you support a team that is not "all in", let alone can't watch (outstate market, unless you pay!!!), and tickets/concessions/souvenirs/etc. are outrageous at games! To summize. looonnnggg season, if you can watch or go to game. Looks like biking, going to lakes, going to minor league games, bbqing, etc. is what will happen this summer. Sad!!!!!! MLB needs a salary floor and ceiling, otherwise make two divisions for the "haves and have not"/small market teams away from large market teams!!!!!
  3. Hello no! The parity of MLB is horrendous! Sell the team or move it. If you are in business, you want to always make money, sometimes that doesn't, then adjust. Now, if you are hemorrhaging money continuously, reset, remodel, revamp, etc.....or sell the losing proposition, like to a winner. Like the captain of the w w. 2 battleship Washington said, "move aside, I'm coming through"! His ship was the only battleship to sink another in straight conflict with another. The haves and have not have waaaayyy to much discrepancy in payrolls. Yes, having the highest payroll doesn't always win you a championship, but it surely increases your odds of not only making the playoffs (every year), not to mention always be in contention; the same can't be said for the "small market teams". And don't give me this how many championships the Yankees have won, let alone Dodgers and the likes, most titles were bought through free agency spending, some withstanding!!!
  4. Not only couldn't they bunt, but they had about 20 steals all year...kidding, but not far from truth. I always like a manager and players that are aggressive, forcing teams to make perfect plays, usually works out for team who is aggressive. I like teams that are "conservative" to a football team trying to maintain a lead with a "prevent defense" which actually prevents you from winning most times!!!!!!
  5. No! Waaaayyy to many injuries! He is talented, but unreliable; as Bud Grant famously once stated, "the best ability is availability"! Nice guy, but trade him, with a caveat: spend more money to bring in a winner for a change, which ownership owes the Twins fans with their "new stadium so we can compete"....what a bunch of dung!
  6. You are either "in it to win it" or sell the team; no more "small market" bull dung! Television rights have to be cleared up too for outstate residents to follow, otherwise you lose them altogether! Payroll must be in the top ten also!
  7. Probably a nice guy, but things need to change. Now, that being said, the Pohlads' need to sell the team to be "competitive", with the recognition they received a new funded stadium to do just that, yet the salary is lower, let alone "mid-tier" in comparison to league average, meaning fans were screwed. MLB has a major problem with the "haves" and "have nots", using "small market" as the usual excuse! I like Buxton a lot, but I would trade him for a player that actually is capable of playing mostly a full season for a change. Correa looks to go on the D.L. o 2-3 times a year for his foot problem, which is chronic apparently. Then you have the Twins always going after retread pitchers, pitchers coming off a major surgery, etc. that can't make it through the first 2 months. Who heck is the medical team doctor when acquiring pitchers??????????!!!! Lastly, two more points: 1) Payroll needs to rise to at least 150 million 2) Television needs to get fixed for outstate residents, whom can't make games regularly! You lose total interest if there are television rights that people can watch, with the caveat can afford too!!!!
  8. How come Twins never get a stud to come up, permanantly, and play at very high caliber at age of 19-20??????????
  9. Neither....don't be stupid and give up good assets, let alone studs and potential 4-5 tool stars.
  10. Because Calvin Griffith bought team again from the grave and will (again) play at the bottom of MLB team payrolls, meaning many more years of mediocrity and wishing just to make playoffs!😉
  11. Duh! Of course they should be focused on winning, otherwise why play, let alone have them on the field at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Duh! Of course they should be focused on winning, otherwise why play, let alone have them on the field at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. First off, the Twins need to actually give the fans a team to root for, meaning spending more than 20th in league spending!!! Secondly, how the F do they not steal a base, let alone move a man over with a bunt??????????? Thirdly, I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in pulling a pitcher after 75 pitches=ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A pitcher will tell you when he is tired or....the hitters will tell him, screw the "analytics" now used in baseball, baseball is baseball, don't overcomplicate it!!!!! Lastly, base running was a joke! I'd rather though have a guy get thrown out, putting the defense on it's heals though, and getting thrown out, but what I generally saw this season was horse dung! There, that should just about sum it up! Oh wait! I forgot about trading for players, namely pitchers, that are HURT!!!! Duh!!! Don't the Twins have medical doctors, let alone scouts, to figure this out???!!!
  14. You always have better stats when you have studs protecting you in front and behind you in the order, like the Yanks had with their team!!!! No to hard to figure out! What do you think Buxton would do in Yanks lineup (probably #1 or 2 hitter)?? He would steal 30+ bases, hit 35 home runs, knock in 110 runs, score 1115+ runs, etc...that is what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Why can't Twins spend more than 130 million, why not 150+, which is still far below what Yanks, Cubs, Phillies, Dodgers, Red Sox, White Sox, Braves, Blue Jays, etc. spend???!!!
  16. Caveat: Remember, if Twins stink, he is a rental player after just one year, either 2nd or 3rd years are his options, meaning bye bye after one year. Twins have no starting pitching, meaning, even after the signing of Correa, experts predict 79 wins=below .500=no chance at playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lastly, Twins are STILL about 20+ million below last years team salary, equaling to lower half of league payroll! Didn't they need a new stadium to "compete"???!!!! Sounds like they need another one now=tongue-in-cheek, but not far from truth! Whatever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Scrimp on payroll, like the Marlins!!! Should be a Double A team then!!!!! Then, move St. Paul to Major League status, being they are equal (lower ticket prices then accordingly=duh)!
  18. "Clearing payroll"???!!! Screw that! The Twins needed a new stadium for revenues to "compete", a stadium that was taxpayer subsidized! Now, they have a lower payroll, even before the strike, let alone adding to it!!!! There is so much disparity between the "haves and have nots"!!! Not fair! Twins take on older, often injury prone retreads for pitchers, wait until their prospects qualify for medicare to bring them up (or trade them to the likes of the Yanks for future prospects, later to then be traded to the likes of the Yanks, essentially being a farm club for such teams)!!!! What has been their highest payroll? 125 million, or so, and that would be in the middle of MLB payrolls at best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fans are ticked off!!! Prices are waaaayyyy to high, from everything like concessions, parking, merchandise, and....wait for it.....tickets!!!! A family needs to take out a loan just to go to a game, and that doesn't include driving there (if outstate) and hotel/food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lastly, with all the rising t.v., cable, dish, streaming prices, which are also locking out the fan base!
  19. Like him, but both he and Sano need weight limitations in either their next contract (Pineda) or staying on field (Sano). Period! Their weight is rediculous!
  20. Sano needs to sit! MANY naseball players can hit 25-30 hrs a year....without striking out 50% of the time....and he isn't a gold glove first baseman either. So he is big....big deal. I would tell him to go to the triple A team to lose weight and learn thecstrike zone! Bring Laurnich up...at least to see what we've got there. Why is it that mostbTwins prospects have to be 25 to be brought up= either they are studs or not= shouldn't take a senior discount to find out! Outta here!
  21. Dodgers win World Series again. Champs until someone beats them, just like Bucs (and Lightning in hickey) again in football=rinse and repeat.
