In my neighbor's garage, where I tend to watch a lot of games, Thielbar's nickname is "Northfield". I'd love to see Petricka get called up just for the novelty of it, and if he produces, that's a bonus.
Buzz Lightyear ascends to the top. Woody gets kicked to the corner.
The saviors have been anointed again. Meanwhile, Cavaco and Sabato have taken the spear and are being drained on the cross (not worried about them rising again ?).
Rinse and repeat in 2023.
At the risk of sounding uninformed ....
Let's say Porter slips to the 4th round or later for that matter, since he's likely told teams that he's going to school. Could the Twins draft him knowing that he won't sign and then just use that slot money on Lee/Prielipp? Or, if they can't sign a player do they lose that slot money?
Haha .... Nothing is more blinding than single perspective prospect love.
I'm sure I probably wrote a comment along the lines of "... there is no way I'm giving up Romero AND Gonsalves for JT Realmuto ... "
I'll probably do it again, too. ?
Not a snub unless neither get selected as a reserve. Complete homer title. You can't expect either to get the votes with marginal stats over Yankees and Blue Jays (whole country).
Good read. I think the Twins would have to give up more pitching. I also fear the amount of competition for available players won't allow the Twins to make this many acquisitions without a higher level of overpays.
It seems his ship has been getting further and further off course since 2020. You just can't give up jacks at the rates he has the past season and a half and expect success. This season he's added in a crappy walk rate, which has made it even worse. I'd draw from the chance pile of Minaya, Cano, Hamilton or Sisk.
It's probably best for them to put him on the IL and let him heal. I have no problem with them going to a lesser pitcher to fill out their rotation for awhile. Lopez is probably the best option. He has great career numbers against the Twins from my POV. ?
Overall, I'm definitely in the corner with those fed up with the bullpen right now, but I don't see how this was a "bullpen meltdown" game. Polanco needs to make that throw for one. Minaya certainly did his job getting out of the 8th and putting up a zero in the 9th. 21 outs in a row is what put the team in that position. Thankfully Arraez and Buxton saved their best for last.
I'd like to say Strotman or Henriquez, but looking at their MiLB numbers this year ... ?
It might be time for a reset of both the big league bullpen and some of these spots on the 40-man.
