  1. Radio announcers: Provus Hughes Kasper/Jackson, WSox (good play by play and Jackson educates) Korach, A's Wagner, Jays Dickerson, Tigers Hamilton, Cleve (quirky but enjoyable) Brantley, Reds/color (gives ball insights) Some of my favorites
  2. Provus has grown into his role. He has toned down the overwhelming stats he used about 3 yrs ago. Balanced, even, mildly critical even though Pohlad signs his check, paints the visual, gives inning and score frequently. I have come to enjoy him.
  3. Gladden is terrible. Play occurs and he waits until conclusion to describe what happened. "Dear Dan, we have no eyes on the game. Might you share?"
  4. wasn't the 1st time this year. He is elsewhere.
  5. I respectfully disagree. Maybe Baldelli is playing chess. I will play checkers and have the manager say, "Let's see -- I have a young developing player, Wallner. He is 2-2 today. It's important to show the young man that I have confidence in him. Not going to have a .215 catcher hit for him." This kind of demonstration of belief in a person is part of the game. It's a long view in developing a ballclub. Pulling Wallner was a resounding, "I don't trust you." Very wrong message, IMHO.
  6. Josh Donaldson has a torn right calf and could miss the rest of the season. He would finish his Yankees career having hit just .207/.293/.385 while missing 159 of a possible 324 games and getting paid $51.5 million. Donaldson will be a 38-year-old free agent this offseason. Thank you Cash($)man.
  7. $5.5MM on the Farm and $1.8MM on Castro. Money well spent.
  8. Had to have been. I am sure no one is talking to him by this time.
  9. Niagara Falls at the time, watching Bobo Brazil give Killer Kowalski the coco-butt.
  10. Watkins is just shuffling to 3B. Correa brought him a glove.
  11. Sox radio booth was hoping for Anderson's 1st homer in over a year. Had to settle for a double.
  12. But she is ready, on time, for the first time ever.
  13. Shoot, I took off the headphones, in disgust as well as helping prep for company at 5p. Will have to look at box score and catch up.
  14. The OP is one step ahead of Sports Illustrated, posing the same questions. Spot reliever, bumping Maeda, trade an arm for a <s>leg</s> bat. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/twins/how-does-dallas-keuchel-impact-the-twins-plans-at-the-trade-deadline
  15. Radio fans, Pat Hughes, Cub announcer for 27 years, given Ford Frick award at Cooperstown yesterday. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cubs/ct-pat-hughes-chicago-cubs-frick-award-20230723-fo2dwqoltzcz3fhdt2gndbgydu-story.html
  16. Not minimizing your concern. I am 75 and run on 3 cylinders some days. If you are aware of concern, not Alzheimers. That is what doc told me. Second, in reading re: forgetfulness, "where are my glasses," etc -- As we age, our electrical signals don't take the direct route anymore. They bounce all over the place before getting to thought formation. My biggest frustration is forgetting a specific word I am after...now what is the word for_________, or the most descriptive word I am after. Lord, have mercy.
  17. Smeltzer, pitching for Jax Shrimp, AAA for the Fish. 6.10 ERA, 1.67 wHip Sanchez. Had the Detroit/Padres game on radio. Sanchez catching for SD. Hitting .180.
  18. Beautiful tilth in that soil. I have worked like a bugger for past 10 years to improve mine. Prior owner had 70 years of chemicals; every year, rinse, repeat. I sow winter rye for green manure every year, sickle, and turn over in the Spring. Straw mulching around plants. Turned over. Aged horse manure. Still working on it.
  19. This short period of time is not dissimilar to a spring training for him. Needs time.
  20. Still too early to slide Maeda. Keuchel working 5 inn per start, 3.6BB/9, 1.40wHip.
  21. While I agree for your sentiment for the man, he has no business on the mound. When you can't control a 98mph, someone could be injured for life. 3 hitters beaned in a row clearly indicates he has no idea where the ball is going. He needs to shut himself down.
