  1. Smart move. Love it. Gets that liability off the financial books and facilitates a sale. New owner can come in with low payroll (move over Vazquez) and build club from bottom up in 5-6 years.
  2. Taylor Rogers was dealt from the Cincinnati Reds, along with shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura, to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-trade-deadline-rogers-twins-taylor-and-tyler-get-traded-on-the-same-day-205846858.html
  3. Zack Littell. The Reds made a second trade late Wednesday by acquiring starting pitcher Zack Littell from the Rays for left-hander Adam Serwinowski (the Reds' No. 10 prospect) and 28-year-old right-hander Brian Van Belle, https://www.mlb.com/news/zack-littell-traded-to-reds-from-rays
  4. What can you get for him? Who needs that backup catcher for a second half run? Pereda picked up off waivers and Camargo DFA'd. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/twins-claim-jhonny-pereda-designate-jair-camargo-for-assignment.html https://www.si.com/mlb/twins/minnesota-twins-news/twins-claim-catcher-jhonny-pereda-off-waivers-dfa-jair-camargo
  5. Trade Skenes or Ryan? No way. Look to the future and build around such a player. Stud pitchers are rare and often involve pigs in a poke in return. Don't gut your starting 5.
  6. 3 in a booth are fine if they are in synch or orchestrated. I can't deal with talk-overs. However, it is moot for me; strictly a radio boy and get 3 only when a guest is in the booth and then we often lose the ballgame as it isn't done well. Glad to hear they have found work for Plouffie besides his podcast work.
  7. Never thought I would see a pitcher with a FB avg of 95 actually immortalized with the appellation "Junk'"
  8. Devin Smeltzer is pitching with the Dorados de Chihuahua , Mexican League this year, tossing with a 4.79 ERA. Should call them Los Perros Lanudos. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=smeltz000dev
  9. Actually, it is a true representation of this franchise (insert very sad emoji here).
  10. Hot, hot, hot. "🎵 'Ol' Skubal was a Tiger..." Pray for rain.
  11. I've had the A's game on and back in to the Twins. Atterbee sounded like a balloon on its last gasp. Somehow, I knew right then that Ober was giving up the gopher balls even without the score being announced.
  12. Ends started and pitched 5 scoreless inns for the Tigers yesterday. 34 yrs old and makes first start of career after 33 inns total of relief work in MLB.
  13. Both pitchers use a water bag routine to strengthen the core. I had never heard of the exercise before.
  14. on MLB.TV. Free game this afternoon. Sold out in MKE.
  15. Nokohama Baystars.. He played for the Diablos Rojos last year. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=bauer-000tre#all_standard_pitching
  16. We are a passive people to begin with and this year's play hasn't helped that passivity.
  17. Anyone willing to take a fly on him around trade deadline? Contract is $770K/1 year. "The Orioles announced this morning that they have optioned right-hander Yennier Cano to Triple-A Norfolk. Spout it loud. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/06/orioles-option-yennier-cano.html
  18. Brewers radio still grinding on the Twins re: brilliance of Misiorowski last evening.
  19. :"Forbes' valuation of the Rays in March 2025 indicated a debt-to-value ratio of 10%," That would put it at $145-$175MM compared to the Twins $425MM if the ratio is correct. https://www.google.com/search?num=10&client=safari&sca_esv=f7661461505a9ca6&rls=en&sxsrf=AE3TifMK_z45k_-IWSdURblGdRk23bKKnw:1750450139939&q=rays+baseball+"debt"&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiO3qb25oCOAxVY4skDHcloDNsQ5t4CegQIIRAB&biw=1440&bih=697&dpr=2 I predict that if the Rays are sold, they will end up in Nashville or SLC.
  20. Particularly when you consider they have to solve a stadium issue which has dragged on for 8-10 years without resolution,
