  1. Sherry, well written summary of the game. Some of the best germane comments of this thread as well. Well stated, all.
  2. I find myself listening to Tigers, Guards, Yanks, WSox (broadcasters), Cinci games more than Twins. Much has to do with Atteberry/ManFromGlad as well as the AAAA players fielded to complete the roster.
  3. Trout: Those with video asked, what does Trout look like at the plate? Hitting .177, age 33. I saw him about 6 years ago in ST against the A's. He went 0-4 but I have never seen 4 balls hit harder, two at 2nd, two at short. I swear I saw smoke on the fielders' gloves. Thoughts on 2025 appearance?
  4. Polanco blasted two HRs for the Mariners, lifting his BA to .354 and OPS to 1.085. https://www.mlb.com/stories/player/593871?partnerId=it-20250427-13349576-mlb-1-A&utm_id=it-20250427-13349576-mlb-1-A&lctg=89773477
  5. He is still out there; Sanchez catching for the Orange Birds today. Pounding a blistering .111.
  6. Members are encouraged to surreptitiously approach Seth with their best offers. ideas.
  7. Just a suggestion. After seeing Falvey foraging on the DFA fields this year and the quality (sic) obtained, why not propose to Pohlad that Twinsdaily.com will sacrifice a member from readership. Cash goes to the website. Every member names are placed in a hat (https://www.random.org), and Seth picks the winner. Previous experience is not an issue. Church league softball, tavern team hardball, college ball. If none of those exist, Little League stats will do; sandlot if LL was skipped. If the member selected is DFA'd, Pohlad must sell the team by All-Star game.
  8. Yeppir, Wm Bendix. He worked the floor in an aircraft assembly plant in So California. Can see him opening his lunch bucket.
  9. ...and we are stuck with him till bulls won't jump the fence to sweet talk Elsie the Borden cow.
  10. Angels 1B, Nolan Schanuel. 2nd year, Florida Atlantic University grad, my alma mater. https://www.mlb.com/player/nolan-schanuel-694384 I was down in Boca Raton this winter to watch some games. Chatted up a couple of guys in the development department who followed his career while at school. The school is proud of their 1st MLBer. 1st time on campus in 51 years.
  11. Had that terrible buffering on radio for 1st couple of days on MLB. Has cleared up. It's 55* and damp. No wind.
  12. At the dinner table, grandson asked me if the Twins had won a league series game recently. I just glared at him and he began to smirk; little smarty-pants. I asked him if he really wanted that plate of tacos. Smirk disappeared.
  13. Scoreboard watchers, have Yanks/Jays on radio. Berrios 3 hitting those hammering Yanks, 0-0, after 4.
  14. Paddack threw 99 pitches, 57% for strikes, against the WSOX. Let's be kind and blame the weather.
  15. Had the Bosox-WSox game on the radio this morning. WSox puked another one up and are now playing .227 ball. 16,000 avg paid attendance. Payroll? $63MM. About 28th in MLB. Talk about waltzing a franchise into the grave. What I found interesting is that there are NO commercial sponsors between innings except for ESPN radio (which hosts the games). Just dead air. Plenty of those 10-second reads by the booth during the game (Yanks are the worst for it), but intra-inning time?
  16. Jays batted 19th in MLB in 2024. Poppkins hired by the Jays in the off-season after Twins cut him loose. Jays currently hitting 5th best in MLB, 2025.
  17. I haven't see Lee play. Lots of time at SS in college and minors; minimal in MLB. Does he have the range for SS at the MLB level? The arm? Asking.
  18. Mets radio booth said Baldelli had the pitchers out for an hour of PFP before the game this eve.
  19. Remember Hunter Greene? Has been throwing an ERA of 1.00 since July 2024. Twins went with Lewis instead in 2017, first pick of the draft, and left Greene to get slotted with the Reds. Lewis injury history: https://www.foxsports.com/mlb/royce-lewis-2-player-injuries Admittedly hindsight is easy ... but painful,
