  1. He is higher ranked than any pitching prospect in our system and we have some good ones coming up
  2. People see $80M over 7 and fail to read about the creative escalators in the contract. Did the Twins make those escalators too hard to achieve? Or was the money not high enough for Buxton's agent? We will probably never know, but we will keep hearing that the Twins only offered $80M
  3. Pads got Frazier from Pitt today for 3 mediocre prospects IMO. They are not afraid to trade prospects, but might one back. I see Bux and Jose being great fits for them. Their OF is nothing great and a healthy Bux gives them a huge improvement. I want Abrams, but I doubt they will move him in any deal
  4. Until we know what the unique escalators were in that offer, I'm not complaining. Was it 7 years with potential for $120? $150? $200? Both sides need to be realistic if they want an agreement. Heck, Sano will make $14m next year, so no way it was less than that.
  5. You might get a low A guy with moderate upside trading him. Let Rooker play the next 65 games and get a real feel for how he has adjusted to MLB pitching. He is probably more of a 4A player, but we have the opening to see what he can do. Side note, sure hope there are a few studs available in the draft next year and this one year dip helps us long-term
  6. Barnes has looked a lot more MLB worthy at St Paul than Jax. Aside from his AAA stint in 2019, he has progressed nicely. Twins need to use the balance of the season to figure out if we have anyone to pencil for next year(but we have all said that before).
  7. And Cleveland has came up with 2 bats in the past 10 years. Yes the Twins need to do better on developing and drafting pitchers, but it isn't all about throwing darts
  8. But, bighat that posts here says that Trevor isn't any good because he has a high SO ratio after 2 months in the majors. Sidenote to the site owners. These pop up ads while you are trying to type a reply is annoying AF! Can you offer a pay option to avoid this crap? No one pays attention to these ads or clicks on them on purpose. SMH
  9. Not going to go against the Royals recent draft record with pitchers. They are actually graduating some very good arms to the MLB team
  10. He is a rookie! If all things had gone normal this year, he would still be in St Paul. Judging a guy buy his first few months is never a good thing
  11. How about a new hitting coach!
  12. Donaldson is one of the few good hitters on the team. Yep, let's eat the money and get someone that will help win in 3 years, if we are lucky. SMH
  13. Wonder what we could get from the Dodgers with Bauer likely getting a long suspension? As for the deals above, I like the Jays and then the Mets best. Never deal with the devil and I'd prefer Berrios go to the NL
  14. Outside of coming back from the injury, he has hit well every year. Hope he is ready for the AA challenge when the draft class is signed
  15. Arraez has too many MLB games under his belt to be considered a rookie. Larnach and Kirilloff do not.
  16. The guy can't stay healthy! How do you spend crazy money on a guy that you can't rely on? Let him get healthy and hope he doesn't tear a fingernail and trade him in the off season
  17. I don't have the numbers in front of me to compare, but I put Berrios and Wheeler in the same category. Wheeler got 5 years and $118m and the Twins were in it to the end(supposedly). With Berrios having been a healthy SP and many believe he has more in the tank, I would be willing to say that is a good and more than fair offer. As for Bux, no team is going to give a guy $20+m when he has proven he can't stay on the field. He is just one of those players that seems snake bitten. Maybe something along the lines of 5 years $70m with a lot of games played bonuses. If Bux plays 150 games, he is easily worth $25m per, if not $30+m. I just don't see the Twins being the team to take that big risk, although they did with with Donaldson.
