  1. The boys were really scufflin' out there today. Only 12 K's for the offense though, so ... that's something?
  2. It may seem a bit unorthodox to have a hitter who can't hit (Kepler) in the cleanup spot, but it's important to just see how it plays out over the course of a few months. Trust the process. The one man bench was a pretty neat idea today also. Sports!
  3. Last season he was being treated for patellar tendinitis. It's possible they might have cleaned up some cartilage, but the bigger focus was probably debriding the damaged parts of the patellar tendon.
  4. Are L/L matchups so frighteningly futile that Kirilloff (.594 OBP over the last 7 games) sits on the bench to start the game?
  5. If he can't run the bases at full speed without nearly landing on the IL, there's no chance he sees any action in CF anytime soon. That ship has sailed unfortunately ...
  6. Buxton in CF is obviously ideal, but I don't think he'll play a single game there this season. If he can't leg out ground balls or aggressively go from first to third without almost landing on the IL, there's just no way he survives any kind of action roaming CF.
  7. It's hard to hit-and-run when most of the hitters can't hit. Same goes for the baserunning aspect of it.
  8. Hopefully Rocco took notice of Kirilloff taking a lefty deep to left field in this contest.
  9. Has there ever been a player with more athleticism that is just not smooth (especially when running the bases) than Buxton? Those belly flops at mach 3 into third base are just hard to watch ... it's no wonder his knees are barking at him.
  10. He's still being rolled out there because the FO won't admit that the trade that brought him here was, as they might say, suboptimal.
  11. Great stuff and elite spin rate. He just needs another 75 innings or so to work out the kinks. Trust the process ...
  12. If only there were some sort of "pitching pipeline" that developed pitchers from within the organization ... then maybe these risky trades wouldn't be necessary to begin with. One can dream ...
  13. No mention of Arraez whatsoever is, as some might say, kooky talk.
  14. I understand he's played all over, but he'll need to prove he can handle right field in a less stressful environment at AAA before any moves are considered.
  15. Have you seen him take batting practice though? Hits 'em to the moon, I tells ya.
  16. I don't know who's telling Berrios to throw that two-seamer when it's clearly not working, but ... please stop it.
  17. He didn't even crack the top 20. Ranking prospects is basically a crapshoot.
  18. I'm definitely no hitting coach, but Cave's swing just doesn't look like it will ever find any real consistency in the big leagues.
  19. Pointing out that other teams also make errors does not make up for a team's own poor defensive play.
