  1. Zero days. Jenkins sitting in the minors because his power isn't elite for zero days. He's been a league average AAA hitter for over a month. Every other Tom, Dick and Harry in AAA is just as productive at the plate as Walker Jenkins. Jenkins needs to earn his promotion with production well above league average. Maybe that comes from batting average or walks or limiting strikeouts so he just puts more balls in play? It has to come from somewhere, and right now, he's just another random, no-name, minor league baseball player in terms of his performance.
  2. In a nutshell? No sure thing as the Twins are under .500 to start with, and the Twins made valuable, but few actual additions. Other teams improved as well like the Guardians who generally grade out as an A vs. the Twins' C. The rotation ranked worse than our bullpen, technically, but I think the rotation is adequate for the regular season if everything else was good, but Minnesota needs Connor Prielipp to take a step forward now because he has to whip himself into a playoff caliber starter in the next 2 months. Sorry, zero faith in Ober being able to stick in the rotation. Joe Ryan II (the second half) Taj Bradley Connor Prielipp Dean Kremer Bailey Ober C - Jeffers 1B - Lewis 2B - Clemens SS - Kreidler 3B - Lee LF - Larnach CF - Keaschall RF - Wallner DH - Bell BC - Caratini UO - Roden UI - Gray Util - Jackson There were clear areas the Twins could have improved and solidified not only the regular season, but the post season, and the Twins didn't do that.
  3. You mean like the 3 PTBNL guys the Cubs tossed at Toronto for Kevin Gausman? Or the nothingburger guys which got Seattle Taylor Ward?
  4. Like today? He was in Cedar Rapids last I checked. Oh, he was scratched due to soreness. Have to monitor that.
  5. Brooks Lee's plate production is a total aberration. His regression to the mean has already been going on for a while. Since July 1, .221/.288/.358 OPS .646 wRC+ 81 xwOBA a miserable .248. That's Brooks Lee. It's been Brooks Lee since his first year and continues to be exactly who he is at the plate. The chances of him pulling a full year 2014 Danny Santana campaign aren't zero, but it's far more likely Lee is under wRC+ 90 by the end of the season. In regard to his fielding, he's been capable. He's not a plus fielder at 3B, but his instincts have played well there, and he's clearly made some effort to improve his speed and range. The arm is what holds him back, but he should be able to maintain his league average 3B defense. Keaschall is a 2B. He needs to play 2B and improve his defense because despite all the cheer and excitement every time he has the occasional 5-10 game hot streak, his expected production remains rooted at league average. That's not bad for a 2B, but it really limits him in the outfield, though I think he could be effective enough in LF due to his speed. Lewis is a utility guy at this point based on how the Twins deploy him. NOt sure what to make of his day to day playing ability, but at 1B, he's going to need to hit even more.
  6. I would expect Emma to be the next one up mid August if he doesn't look absolutely ice cold in AAA when he gets there in a couple days.
  7. Jenkins Jenkins Jenkins. If only hype won baseball games and not production at the plate. He's barely holding his own at AAA right now.
  8. So the Twins are going to run what the brung with a couple bullpen upgrades. Guess Prielipp is in for the playoff rotation 😅
  9. Buxton, Kepler, Sano, Rosario, Gibson, Berrios, Dozier, Escobar, Santana, Mauer, Polanco, Garver, Rogers, Duffey, Pressley. What Falvey inherited vs. what he developed is pretty black and white right now. Most of the talent you'd give Falvey credit for came off the back of Bill Smith and Terry Ryan assets that Falvey traded to keep his teams afloat until he ran out of prior regime assets to sell... and then we missed the playoffs 4/5 years.
  10. Mariners getting Taylor Ward for equivalent of 3 PTBNL's.
  11. After his first 5 games in AAA from 5/21 onward - .285/.387/.604 OPS .991 wRC+ 147, and from June on .292/.388/.649 OPS 1.037 wRC+ 156. That's "okay"? There's reason to believe he's AAAA, but to say Wallner has been "okay" lately is just BS.
  12. yeah, they're downright bad for Gomez. All of them. SIERA, xERA, FIP, xFIP they're all over 4.50.
  13. Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers Detroit Tigers New York Mets Athletics Chicago White Sox Pittsburgh Pirates Seattle Mariners That was his list.https://www.tsn.ca/mlb/video/2026/07/22/rosenthal-confirms-gausmans-eight-team-no-trade-list/
  14. Yeah, not impressed with Tinney's initial games. He's been very passive at the plate and he was missing on in zone pitches too much. He's also been hosed on some calls, but still, have to swing more. Glad to see him actually swing the bat (and make contact) when he did. He's going to need to adjust that approach quite a bit unless it was part of his strategy to get a feel for the level or something unusual.
  15. I'm not pleased at all about Gausman not being on the Twins if that's what he cost the Cubs. Two PTBNL guys. An outfielder and an infielder.
  16. The state of things right now is the Twins have stood pat. The absolute worst case scenario for a fan like me, but today will be a busy trades day. We'll see.
  17. The results are too long to ignore. Matthews doesn't have the stuff or command for the rotation. He added a sinker and it wiped his K rate, and he doesn't have any out pitches. The sinker and slider are average and his other 4 options are below average in terms of stuff. Opposing hitters don't chase his offerings outside the zone much, but if they do, they make contact, and Matthews gets barreled like crazy. He just doesn't fool anybody. Almost the exact same M.O. as Varland as a starter.
  18. If Greene didn't have risks associated with him, you'd have to look at Chris Sale trade. #1 overall MLB prospect. #30 overall MLB prospect. #8 org in probably the best farm system in baseball. fast rising swing start/reliever Equivalent for Twins Vahn Lackey Walker Jenkins Dasan Hill Adrian Bohorquez
  19. What a take... Ever think about why doctors have internships or why when you get a new job you need experience to be good at it? Why do MLB teams or NFL teams have preseasons? Knowing the plays is different than running them.
  20. Matthews is a bullpen arm. I was a big proponent of his, but he doesn't have the stuff.
  21. Can't expect the guys you don't care about losing are going to be more coveted by other teams. Throwing a bunch of trash at the Reds for an ace caliber pitcher will get you nowhere, even if you throw in a guy who has fallen off top 100 lists recently in (Emma)
