  1. I think it is adorable that people think we will keep Sano, Buxton or Berrios. there will be some reason or excuse to get rid of them. I think money might be second to playing on a contending team or in WS. Some of them already have more money than most of us will see.
  2. I knew they wouldn't get a big name but I kept peeking in just in case. I am just as frustrated by just as worried about they trading away, Berrios, Buxton and Sano when their big pay day is due. There will be some excuse but there will be one. I for one wouldn't want to come here and if I as Berrios, Buxton or Sano I would be hoping to get traded to a team that wants to win a WS not a team that thinks making the play-offs and not winning a good. Last year was horrible, we got an extra 3 LOSING games. Big whoop!
  3. Will Dozier land anywhere?
  4. In all of this I can't help but wonder if Dozier will get picked up. He still seems so young.
  5. Just read through the MLB.com long article about Trade Rumors. Not one mention of the Twins. Not ONE!
  6. I always thought with the old coaches that they held players back just to keep them at the lower salary longer. I think they should bring him up and let him succeed or fail and then move on.
  7. Has Dozier played yet in the WS?
  8. How could Dozier go downhill so quickly? Last year was a complete flop. He only has gotten 7 at bats in the playoffs with zero hits and 2 strikeouts. He is only 32.
  9. There always has to be someone to hate on. We had the Sano and Buxton hate earlier this year and there is nothing to hate on for them right now so let's choose Eddie. This group will never be happy.
  10. Quote of an AllStar. I think we have guys now who feel that same way and will help. “We talked about winning the division, putting ourselves in a good spot for the postseason and the World Series. We came up short,” said Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge. “No matter how many games we won in the regular season or whatever else we did, this season is a failure.” Even though Aaron Judge didn't have much this post season he sees nothing short of winning the WS as a success. I like that attitude.
  11. Hicks is so much like the players we have now he was outspoken and a little cocky but that was so much better than players who just walked away after striking out looking like it was no big deal. Those were the players that got play in the Gardy age anyone with a personality didn't last long.
  12. Two ex-Twins the team gave up on having a big impact in the last 2 games. I always loved Hicks. Pressley did not really care but wow! Hicks is one player the Yankees did not have to overspend to get. As much as it bothers me they let him go, he deserved to be on a team that appreciated him and I bet he was singing all NY NY all the way there.
  13. What I saw as a difference maker this year is it didn't matter the name on the jersey they played the best possible players where in the past 4-5 people were in the line-up that maybe needed a week on the bench just for motivation. They also have brought in the staff and players like Cruz to set the tone. Each and every guy in their line-up knows there is someone right behind them waiting to get their spot.
  14. All that waiting and it was over in a blink of an eye with absolutely nothing to cheer about. One and done is just as bad as not making the playoffs at all.
  15. They need to lock in Cruz for a few years too. But they can/should spend the most on pitching and be able to re-sign Buxton, Sano, Kepler, Garver and Rosario.
  16. One and done is not successful. Not winning at least one is embarassing. I don't know why they didn't leave Berrios in longer. Yes he was at 80+ pitches but I am pretty sure the outcome would have been different. What are you saving is arm for Spring Training? Not starting Odorizzi in game 2 unbelievable and Perez should be #3. Gibson coming in???????????? Why did we get Romo if we aren't going to use him? Relying on Duffey??????
  17. It is just a mild sprain, I am sure Arraz would want to just tape/wrap it up and get out there and play.
  18. I guess it depends on the grade of the sprain but maybe he can just tape it and still play. Our gymnasts have sprains are are able to compete with the help of tape. Especially if it a meet where you need to qualify for regionals or nationals.
  19. I was thinking that playing spoiler is also a fun place to be. Gardenhire would probably love to manage the best 3 games of his life and leave here laughing. I don't think many of the players from his day are left on the team.
  20. I think Gardenhire and perhaps the Pohlad's were to quick to bench, let go and just not work with the Latino players. I also think they including Molitor played the "popular" players to get the fans who were just coming for the Target Field experience. Escobar was one of the first who made it impossible to keep him on the bench. Last year Dozier, Kepler, Mauer, Grossman and Morrison all reasons throughout the year to be on the bench. This year all the guys have gelled and push each other for a spot to play. The last few there was just a few open and with this front office and manager they seem to be giving playing time to those who deserve it.
  21. I went on Thursday night with Gibson starting. It was nerve wracking for most of the game because you just don't know what you have. I was glad he got pulled early because he is so slow and boring! The game is probably 30 minutes longer when he is in.
  22. What if the Twins have a 3 game losing streak and Cleveland keeps winning. Cleveland is not going down easy. I am sure they will be fine but it really is not over yet for Cleveland and anything is still possible.
  23. This is getting more and more exciting. Remember when we couldn't buy a home run. Dozier was good for quite a few during his good half season but besides him there was never a player where you knew there was a legimate shot. Now we go a night w/o one and it is noticeable. That is a good thing! So looks like we make the playoffs, will we be happy with one and done? I hope for 87 again but think I will be happy with just one series and this new team. This team has fighters and they are earning their playiing time which is far different than the last 10 years when the favorites played even when a non favorite was on a roll. Oh well hopefully now that is over and these guys keep pushing each other knowing there is someone on the bench that could take their spot. Love it!
  24. I am not in panic mode yet, but preparing myself for a let down. We go through this in MN every year with at least one or all of our teams.
