  1. Off topic but does anyone have DISH? Did you get a lower monthly bill w/o FSN? I did not and think because it is my most watched channel in the summer I would get a healthy refund, not just a couple of bucks. That DISH dude goes on an on about saving us money when in fact they are only saving themselves for now. If you got a refund how did you do it?
  2. It is fun to go from a team who had hardly any power to this. I always thought that is what we were missing a 1st and DH, never imagined we would get so much more. When I would wish for power at 1st and DH I was mostly told that Mauer and Grossmans (or whoever they slotted in) OBP was just as important. Last year was the worst. We had a lead-off who had a horrible season but they kept trotting him out there. FINALLY!
  3. I always am hoping someone else will remember when the Twins tried to get Cruz like 10 years ago but the other team wanted Aaron Hicks and then everything stopped. Does anyone remember it or when it was? Is it possible we could have had him the last 10 years?
  4. It is hard to stay positive after what we have been through the last 10 years and while we were not sellers this year we certainly were not buyers. What got to me most is an MLB article titled "Contenders need these 10 guys to step up" Twins are not mentioned as a contender but Cleveland is. What does that say? If you were trying to be positive you could say they are all playing their best but I would put Buxton, Sano, Cruz, Berrios or even Rosario as someone who needs to step up and take the lead in their recent struggles.
  5. Has anyone else ever noticed the Twins never have news article on the front page of MLB.com. I mean today two top teams playing and they have nothing!
  6. Well that was fun! Smeltzer looked good but I don't get to excited because I have been told it takes a bit for teams to figure him out but hooray we got the win! Romos is going to be fun to watch too. Our last minute big name signing on the DL already? Is that just to give him some time? Settle the fans down? But the BP mowed them down today and yes it was only KC but last week it was the Marlins who took them to school. Here comes the roller coaster we have all been waiting for! I think we will be at the top for the most of it. Happy happy fan!
  7. Not paying $50 for it. I can watch game day with all the fake baseball players and listen to the radio. I do miss watch Berrios pitch and the sluggers slug but I survived the week.
  8. Hulu did not work at least with the 5.99 or 11.99 per month option. Did not want to sign up for 5 day 49.99 per month option. Using Fox Sports Go and my daughters account login. Thank goodness. I was starting to freak out for sure.
  9. Dyson blamed himself on the first game. He should have been able to close out a team like Miami and he didn't. Because I have DishTV I have not been able to watch so didn't see or hear any comments from him on last nights game. Two games not a great impression but hopefully in a couple of weeks we can calm down. I am starting to get nervous though. I am not sure what to do about Dish TV? Has anyone switched yet? I don't want to switch because I like PrimeTime Anyway and we have lot's of kids movies recorded but I don't want to miss the rest of the season. Any advice?
  10. Good guy. I always remembered his name from spending time with a little girl with terminal cancer. He was her idol and did not disappoint.
  11. I don't think Rocco thought Miami would hammer Dyson. He probably was of the thought of bring him out against the weakest team ever and the FO would look like geniuses.
  12. I get it, new, excited, tired, disappointed even? But this is not what we needed when we think of help in the BP at first blush. Still going to get that pit in my stomach when the go to the BP.
  13. I am okay. After we see what they can do I hope that I don't get nervous feeling every time they go to the BP. I am not relaxed or confident with anyone at all. I want a person who can stop the bleeding which has been tough. Or a person that can go in and have a 1, 2, 3 more often than not!
  14. Help! If you have Dish TV, how long are you going to wait before changing. I do not want to change but I don't want to miss the rest of baseball season. I have been waiting 10 years for this. Is Dish really trying to save us money or does FSN need more money to pay people like the Pohlads. I am so torn. I have MLB on my iPad and can listen. It is okay but yesterday I really missed watching Berrios. What are your or would you do?
  15. I followed a CaringBridge page for a terminally ill little girl when Romo was in SF. He was good to her. Seems like a good guy. Sometimes you need to think about fitting in too. Also he has playoff and World Series experience.
  16. Does anyone remember about 5 years ago, maybe more when the Twins wanted Cruz but the other team wanted Hicks.
  17. Well we are getting close to the "are your buyers or sellers?" and the Twins tend to pull the plug too early. They have lost some very good players and not gotten much back. Some of you remember every trade but didn't Pressley make the AS team? Who did we get for him? Did Liam not just shut us out, who did we get for him.? Did they really offer Escobar enough to keep him. They let a very talented Hicks go for nothing. Beside the history which is hard to forget there has to be frustration that nothing has been done as of today to strengthen the team. It is a good team and they have shown they have a chance but not w/o strengthening the pitching staff. Hopefully something big is coming. I can understand the players frustration and I don't think it is the one player but what has happened in the past and what this team will do for a buck. The Buxton fiasco probably didn't send a good message to the players last year. Basically the theme is money is more important the fielding a great team and this team could be great.
  18. I may have read a different article but I picked out 3-4 reasons they are saying we shouldn't spend. Based on the least 20 years or so I may be reading too much into it. They are concerned the team went 9 -11 over the final 20 before the ASG game. "I mean, am I worried? I get worried anytime we lose a game, even 1". He goes on to pump up Cleveland even though we won 2 of 3 over the weekend. Where was that big 1 game worry over the last 10 years. ".....money isn't the issue" "It is what you need to give up, really, and its not what you have to give up in terms of money it's what you have to give up in terms of players" And while he thinks the team could use some strengthening for the most part he likes the current club. He wants to get the most out of what they have now.Target Field upgrades coming....."We are going to have to spend a lot of money to replace all the equipment, including a main board" The fans are coming and they are pocketing the money again! And I spent my one article per month on that for the Strib!
  19. I posted how easily baseball players get out on the IL so easy and someone commented that she isn’t at the highest level of her sport.
  20. She is at the highest level of her sport.
  21. She is at a very high level in her sport. But they do at least an hour of conditioning everydaty
  22. Seems baseball players go out on a 10 day with some pretty minor injuries. If my granddaughter took off 10 days every time she had an ache or pain she would be sitting most of the year.
  23. We have a great team, just what we have been waiting for all these years. Always excited to watch our #1 starter (Berrios) and then Ordorizzi. For the first time in a long time we have excitement when several players are up to bat hoping for a home-run! With that said there are ex-Twins that are killing it now. I saw Pressley on the AS roster and read his stats! He is doing amazing. Escobar is the best hitter for AZ, Hicks doing well in NY. Even Suzuki is doing pretty well. It is a fun game to watch for sure!
  24. Mauer is gone so seems Sano is the new one to hate on. Last year there was a lot of disappointment in Polanco and look where he is now. Sano needs at least 2 years with this new coaching staff before he gets the boot. This staff if more in line with NYY or Boston coaching as we can see by all the improvements in this team. Sano has not been her as long as the rest. But since the team is doing so well you would think we could just sit back and enjoy baseball as they are playing. For the most part even when they lose it is an exciting game.
