  1. The stupidity of messing with his service time was one of the most fatal errors ever! I am sure there are a number of teams that will sign him when he is a free agent for what he wants. Teams that tend to be in the play-off picture every year. Pretty sure most GM's see the writing on the wall and will not offer much either this off season or the next trade deadline. They will wait until he is a free agent. Maybe if a team see's him as a WS make it or break it player the Twins will get something. I don't think the Twins will trade this off season so they don't see ticket sales tumble. After Buxton we don't have much "excitement" left but Sano. Polanco is good but just not the same when it comes to personality as Buxton and Sano. That is it. Not even a pitcher to look forward to unless Ober turns into Berrios II. It is pathetic no matter which way you look at it. We have been through this since at least 2010. I don't care how many times they have won the division because it is just more heartbreak when they don't win a game let alone a series. What "star" wants to be on a depressing team in the prime of their career?
  2. Winning in the ALC is not winning if they don't progress at least one round in the playoffs. The Twins can't even win a game so the me the ALC is worth nothing but 3 extra depressing games.
  3. I don't see much outrage over losing Liam Hendricks the reliever of the year. Would this new FO have seen the potential?
  4. I wish we could find out which players they make offers to that will not come to MN. I hope they are wondering why and will fix that. Even the few top players that have come up with the Twins are gone and doing quite well with their new teams. Kind of like a chicken/egg thing we can't contend w/o top players but no one wants to come her. Cruz was our best FA signing in a long time and they let him go. Berrios was the best pitcher developed since J Santana and they let him go. Buxton the best outfield since KP is on his way out the door. There goes all of chickens and now we have mostly just eggs left.
  5. LOL....seems like the Twins are in a rebuild phase w/o any proven talent besides Buxton, Polanco and a few others to maybe offer. I don't see our close prospects to be much more than average MLB players. That being said there have been so many injuries and I do not remember any real excitement. Maybe Ober is close to above average? I don't pay attention to stats because they can be misleading. I don't think they will trade Buxton this off-season or they will see ticket sales drop for sure. But I am 99.999% sure he will be gone next year at the trade deadline. Hopefully by then a few more of our prospects start to shine. I am still not over this year so it is hard to be glass half full.
  6. Find out how much the Dodgers, NYY, Boston, Angels or any other high spending team is offering and top that. Not going to happen and not 100% sure Buxton really wants to stay. Of course he needs to say that but I kept imaging him playing in the WS and how exciting that would be. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie was the thrill of my season!
  7. It is easy to forget about Duffey and Rogers since they are not everyday players but they are okay? ERA's, etc. do not put them more in the serviceable than upper echelon. Is 30 getting on the older side for pitcher? Still waiting for the 2016. Seems they have a good chance to become MLB quality players, Garver and Kirilloff had quite a few trips to the injured list in 2021????? I agree it is a little early. I feel like we are always "waiting and hoping".
  8. One thing that we never know is if they try to sign players like Rodon but he did not want to come to MN. I think that happens way more often than we know about.
  9. Here we go....betting on and hoping for the magic dust to hit our prospects. Only 2 since 2012 stand out as winners, Berrios and Buxton. The rest have yet to really prove themselves, Glimpses maybe but nothing to get too excited about.
  10. I don't think Buxton will sign here. Besides messing with his service time I am sure he does NOT want to spend the prime of his career with a never ending rebuilding team. I didn't watch much after Berrios was traded so really don't have an opinion on the rest of the players. Even though we are used to this it would be very disappointing not to see something come of the once highly touted Nick Gordon and Royce Lewis.
  11. Don't read this if you do not want to hear a disappointed ticked off fan. I would hate to see Sano go but would love to see him flourish in another environment. Buxton is as good as gone and we will go back to trying to make prospects into above average MLB talent. How much did the Twins medical staff have to do not to keep him healthy? It will be a long time if ever that we will see another Berrios. His success had more to do with his drive for perfection than the Twins development staff. He improved in Toronto in just a few months. It has been a fun reunion watching the WS to see players the front office thought were throw-away's playing on one of the biggest stages in professional sports. I want that to happen for Buxton and Sano. Eddie is getting everything a kid dreams of when playing baseball. WS game with the crowd chanting your name. That is what the All-Stars of the MLB want as much or more than money. The Twins get into the bidding wars knowing most of the big talent players won't come here so they can save face at least pretending they have a shot. Last off-season was the first in MANY years that I was excited that they were finally getting there but it ended up being the worst season ever. Not the number of losses but the overall disappointment and let down. Now if they trade away Sano and Buxton there will be nothing at all to watch or at least no fan favorites to cheer for. We are not going to see another pitcher like Berrios in the near future. Buxton is the most exciting player in the MLB. Besides Polanco and Donaldson I don't think any of our players would be starters for most teams. Adding to this is the greed of the owners that have TV contracts that prohibit a good majority of people from being able to watch the Twins on TV and the cost of going to the games is ridiculous especially to see a bad team play is going to hurt the Twins so need to cut payroll more and more. It is a never ending cycle. I didn't spend any money at all on the Twins this year not even the 3.99 per month fee to listen to them on the internet. Tough for someone who loves the game and I am grateful that I got to be excited to watch the WS and see Eddie thrive. I am sad our kids and grandkids will not get to experience what we did with the 87 or 91 teams or the days of Mauer, Perkins, Morneau, Puckett, Hunter, Cuddyher, Guardardo, etc. What is is like to be on the edge of your seat for all players to get up to bat or watch a meaningful nail-biter game. For that to happen the Twins need new owners and I don't see that happening either.
  12. The Twins would love a .333 hitter!
  13. Why bother watching then?
  14. Thanks to Eddie Rosario I feel like I am having a baseball season! I forgot what that felt like I watched more Atlanta games on TV than Twins. Partly because I have DISH TV w/o FSN. Watched on my iPad only when Berrios was pitching. It is so nice to watch on TV! This is the most fun baseball I have had in a long time. Last nights game was a nail biter for sure! Eddie is hanging in there for sure!
  15. I meant a player who got voted in because he was good enough to be known. Glad the players and coaches know talent but they need to send at least one player from each team. My point is we never have that player and could have with Berrios or Buxton. Not sure who or if there is a new star coming or not.
  16. Did he get voted on by fans? I didn't realize that! Thanks!
  17. I hope they out bid to get Berrios back but so much is going to depend of Buxton staying, Sano stepping it up for good and a few other players to be top quality. Otherwise I am afraid no other top tier pitchers will want to come here. I think we need Berrios and one more.
  18. Unfortunately we can't attract or keep All Star caliber players. These types of players do not want to waste their prime years playing for a team that doesn't have a legitimate shot at a WS title. The All Stars we have or have had will get their money and most likely choose teams that consistently contend for the title. They may not win it all but these players want to play in games that mean something. Our ALC titles seem to always end one and done in the playoffs. Seems we were on the verge and now that they let Berrios go others will want to go too. When is the last time the Twins had a player voted on to the All Star team rather than get the one team pity pick? Somehow the Twins have a hard time getting our top prospects to the All Star caliber. Many or most go on to find themselves improve on another team. We will most likely lose big on this. Other teams will not trade for him this offseason or at the trade deadline and then be able to get him w/o trading top prospects or players. This will give them one full season to see if he can stay on the field and then the offers will start flying.
  19. I don't think anyone is advocating trading Buxton, I think the "loud minority" see it coming. Kepler is okay I guess but I don't think the doors will be knocked down for a trade so I think he is safe where he is but that being said when he goes into his slumps or doesn't improve he should spend time on the bench. Basically make him work harder for his playing time.
  20. We think of the $$,$$$,$$$.00 that will be required to keep Buxton. He is going to get it from someone maybe the Twins will make an offer but I don't think this is the team he wants to spend the prime of his career on. Messing with his playing time probably didn't do the Twins organization any favors. Eddie said that going to the WS is what they dream of as a kid. Not all will make WS but being a contender for a WS title is something that probably won't happen for Buxton if he stays here. He is going to get a pay day and it will probably be with a super power team. Even Berrio's while he didn't get to the play-offs got to pitch in a very important game and that is what the want as much or more than just the money. Sadly the Twin's can keep or attract the talent needed to go all the way. At least not that I can see in the near future. Berrios is a key example. He is the pitcher we hoped for an wanted for a long time. We just got to start to see his talent and they let him go. Yes they got some prospects but that is what we always get. That and older veterans hoping for one more chance. We got that in Cruz and what happens? They let him go. Others may see a brighter light but I don't think they do well with the prospects because most come here either injured or just not that good.
  21. Wonder what the Vegas odds would be that the most exciting game for Twins fans would be game 6 of the NLCS.
  22. Who cares? I think this has been the highlight of our season. Which Twins players should be discussing? All the ones that mattered to me are gone or on their way out. Except for Buxton, Polanco and Kepler many of our players did not play the majority of the season and I would not know them if I were sitting next to them. If you love baseball this is the kind of story we love.
  23. I am almost anti-stat. Hard on this site for sure most are all about stats and that is okay, I have learned some things. However stats have taken away as well. I will call them the "good old days" because a least for me things like chanting Eddie, Eddie, Eddie was fun. Bryon Buxton is really fun! Sano and Cruz were fun because there is always a chance of an HR. Berrios was fun to watch pitch. What I miss the most is the days of the same line up almost every day. You got to know the team and could find joy in watching most of them. Now it is easier to stay detached to a certain point because we know we won't likely have them for most of their careers. I loved Escobar and the heart he played with and he was good. I still think or hope Sano will be great but if he is they will find a way or reason to trade him. I think it is sad that we do not really know our players and may not even recognize them if they were walking or sitting right next to us. Could be just my memory but the last team(s) we had there was Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyher, Punto, Gomez, Delmon Young, Kubel, Casilla maybe even a little Hunter with them in field. Baker, Liriano, Guardardo, Boof, Baker, Nathan, Perkins and Slowey. To me all very memorable because they played the majority of the time. Yes things have changed but I don't think it as done the MLB or at least the Twins any good to go all by stats.
