Alex Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 And it isn't who you might think..... Based on Fangraphs and from Beyond the Boxscore https://twitter.com/BtBScore/status/411595734715076608/photo/1 It's actually a pretty exclusive list, with only 21 players in the majors making it.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Actually, that's who I thought it was going to be. And if there is anyone who missed it, there's a nice column on him on the PP site:http://www.twincities.com/twins/ci_24712792/tom-powers-twins-brian-dozier-enjoys-labor-love Hats off to him (and to his fiancee) for putting their labor to good use. (Oh, but he could stop tweeting hunting photos any time. )
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Yep, that's who I thought it would be as well. Joe don't run.
Alex Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 Actually, that's who I thought it was going to be. I guess that's true, but for running I was thinking of above average for position. Not sure why I had that stuck in my head, especially since I wasn't thinking that way for the other two categories.

There were just so few bright spots last year -- pretty much had a 50/50 chance of having the right guy in mind no matter what! Thanks for posting the list, though. Interesting to see the company he was keeping.
Tibs Verified Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Was Brian Dozier the MVP of the team last year?
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Was Brian Dozier the MVP of the team last year? Pretty sure is was Joe and his .880 OPS.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Was Brian Dozier the MVP of the team last year?Should have been, but the award was given to Mauer.
Tibs Verified Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Pretty sure is was Joe and his .880 OPS. Oh I wasn't aware that the team gave that out. To me Joe Mauer doesn't qualify because he didn't play enough games.

I think it is actually the media that makes the awards. They've been announced but I don't think they'll be presented until January when they have their Diamond Awards dinner. I also place a lot of value on someone being in the line-up for most of the season. Dozier did win "most improved" and "media good guy". Squirrel Community Moderator Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Glad to see 'my guy' getting some good press. He was my favorite player last year.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 No surprise here. Wish I could see those hunting photo's though. My season wasn't so good.
