That was a nice win! And no drama from Perkins. I wonder if we can get 4 more W's?

Is it 4 or 3? I thought Gardy was at 4 prior to the game? Maybe I was counting chickens before being hatched.

I thought it was 4 prior to the game as well.

Now we need to Cubs to start lighting it up so we can get pick #4 next year. I never thought I'd say this, but Go Cubbies!

Nice to see Diamond get a win, even though it was against a weak opponent.

I never thought the caliber of opponent made much difference. Whether it's the Bad News Bears or the much dreaded Jamestown Jimmies, when the ump hands you the ball, all you care about is winning.

So following your logic....are you actually saying that beating the Dodgers or the Red Sox is equivalent to beating the Marlins or Astros?

They do actually both count the same in the standings. And I think the point he was making is that competitors want to win, and that drive is just as strong for the weak opponents as for the strong ones.

I think Gardy needs 3, I'd just like to see 68 wins. 70 would be better but I'm not much of a dreamer.

The drive may be as strong, but the effort to accomplish the feat is far easier to attain in one instance over the other, and much less impressive and personally satisfying.
